Toban Challenge

Would just like to say thanks to all that gave me room as I lapped them,thanks.

There was some real tyre management going on at about halfway,bright orange on the fronts.
Had to slow down by about 5 seconds a lap but I could see that Simon and Antonio must be having the same problems as they were not catching me.

If I knew how to setup a car properly I might have avoided that?
Maybe with the help of Tims "setup developement tool" I now can :)

Was a tad out of practice for this event as I hadn't been behind the sim wheel in some time.

I qual'd mid pack and was happy to get through early laps clean. Made my way up as high as 5th but needed to conserve tires and help the team seccure points so I dropped back to 7th or 8th in the end.

The racing was clean and hard fought which is just the way I like it. Feels good to get back in action.

Interesting race, there is more difference between the slow folks and the fast folks in this series than most.

A couple of quick apologies:

1. Eldridge, sorry for the off-and-on in front of you during qualy, I always forget how fast the Howstons will close on me on the straight.

2. Tom Middleton, sorry for the bump on the uphill left hander on lap three. I waited.

Qualy:

Which one? :-) I was doing a bit better before everyone started popping in and out of view. I got my lap in and hit escape. On the restarted qualy I couldn't quite match my earlier pace, not that it was all that fast anyway. :-) I ended up 17th, 7th in class.

Race: I expected the Howston ahead of me to just disappear, so I started hard, but he must have been held up so I had to jump on the brakes for a second. TomM got past me on lap three going into the downhill right hander and I tried to position myself close to him for the re-pass, but as mentioned above, I was a bit *too* close. A few folks got by, and I ended up behind BillK. I was chasing BillK when TomaszK got by me, he got by BillK and I tried to get by Bill as well. After a lap or two I finally got past and set upon trying to catch Tomasz. I wasn't really closing on him, but he spun in turn one and I got by.

The ZRs are fun, but I really need to figure how to go a bit faster in them.

I do accept your apology. But you really don't need too as your action speaks louder than words.

When you tapped me going into the left hander, I will admit at first I was upset. But I figured I would catch you again and would have to get by you with a little more skill than I did the first time. But when I saw that you had pulled over I instantly felt bad, as I don't think I would of done the same if the tables were turned. It was a "racing thing". I appreciate what you did, but you lost more positions than just to me.
I have only been racing on race2play for a little while and am quite pleased with the sportsmanship and ownership that I have experienced.
