USA Rhez: Silverstone #2

Another fun Rhez race.

Qualy:

I started paying attention to the line the faster guys were taking on the turn onto the National Straight. If didn't help my qualifying time (ninth, only one position better), but it was helpful in the race. Interestingly I managed to have some traffic issues in the session. I came up on a slower car at Copse, I went inside, he turned in and... bump... spin! No real damage done except a lost lap. I hope it didn't hurt his car.

Race:

Kinda boring, if you can imagine that about a Rhez race. About my only major excitement was on the first lap when Rob Ainscough made a move I didn't think had any chance of sticking going into the left hander. I tried to re-pass but I couldn't make it stick. After that, I stayed close to Rob for a while, but it became clear I wasn't going to overtake him. After a bit I settled in and ended up where I started, ninth.

One good thing was I was able to better my qualifying time by nearly four tenths by using the faster line mentioned above.

This race was much more interesting than the 1st, for me at least. I wasn't so fortunate in quali as in in the 1st race and wound up 4th. The start was crazy and Tommy C, Nils, and I had a great race to sort out 3rd. Tommy got it in the end and drove off to take on Chris, while Nils and I fell back. After that I just drove as hard as I could, but for some reason I was very slow on the straights and had to make up time in the corners. I was losing .4 seconds on the straights, overal in the lap, and that's a lot to make up when the guys around you are just as fast as you are in the corners...oh well. Nice job Maciej (again), Tommy, Chris.

This championship is really close coming into the last 2 tracks/ 4 races. It'll be a good 'un :) I think the season finale should be 1 lap around the Norscheliefe LOL that'll take like 30 minutes.

After i raced in the afternoon i had a lots of expierence with this car so it was kind of advantage for me i made some good changes in my setup and the car was really fast and easy to drive i was able to pull away in both races and score some good points. I really enjoy this type of racing because they can be very exiting and those cars are really easy to drive so it makes racing more equal for everybody.
It was a nice to race with you guys!!! Great job all drivers!!

It wasn't actually a pass attempt, it was more of an "oh Sh_t I'm gonna hit" and bail out. I had no intent to make a pass at that time - it was just the 1st lap checkup at that corner that caught me by surprise.

It was a good race, not sure why I was slower in the 2nd race, didn't even get into the 14's.

Hey, it provided me with some excitement! You did a great job holding on to it. I watched you go by and I thought "No way he's going to be able to hold on to that"... but you did. It turned out to be a good move! You didn't hit anyone and you gained a place (places?). I couldn't quite stay with you after that.

Wow. I finally got to look at the replay. I have only watched until the end of the first lap, but I saw something I have to apologize for. *sigh*

I didn't really notice in the heat of the battle, but I clipped Jim Barisoff and he spun. Nuts. I probably should have served a drive-through. At the time I thought he had just dropped back a bit.

Not a big deal, William, it's sometimes hard to tell what's going on in close-quarters racing.
Maybe that'll teach me to stick my nose in, eh?
Would have been a great move, if I had made it, hehe.
