UKFormula GTC65 Magny-Cours

Took the Jag because I am sick of the faster but cheaper Corvette. Ran a personal best in the race, but got caught up in someone else's accident, spun on my own, then spun Marko when I had some warping. Apologies to Marko.
Overall a pretty crap race. :(

I joined the race last minute because wife was gone with kids. Ran clean but slow laps. Unfortunately I had not put enough fuel in for the race so I pitted. Had no keys mapped to add fuel. I love this game, and hope to enter more races.

Qualifying:
Not very good qualifying performance by me, pushed the car bit too much.

Race:
Got ahead of Rui on the start. Menage to keep that position (4th) by the end of the lap 1. Took it very conservatively in the beginning. Still, I was only some 1.5 to 2 s behind David. Unfortunately, that stretched out to some 4 seconds in the traffic. In the last 3 or 4 laps I drove it more aggressively (matching my best race lap times on very worn tires), and came up to David's tail, wish I had one more lap.

As I said in TC post race, considering the pause and lack of practice, decent performance. This was actually better race of the two.

Not too good in qual, didn't work on setup much and also practiced just 10min :/

Had a bit slow start. Soon I was following Donnie. I couldn't get him, and was losing about a second or more... Glen closed up in his TVR, collided with Donnie giving me 5th. After that just brought it home...

I also owe apologies to Mark, who has tried to overtake me, but I didn't leave enough room and bumped him... Sorry for that, was my fault too.

1st non-muscle car,,yeah!
it was tough but nice, everything gained on braking shorter zones was wasted on straight compared to Vettes, but this is the best thing of this serie.
Nice battle with Mark McLean..braking, closing gap... then loosing all on straight....braking and so on and on :)
Should train more with little TC65.

A new PB for me in the 'vette for qualifying. :) A great start to jump Joco and a bonus at the end of the lap when Glen lost the TVR late in the lap. P5 no less! Had an excellent battle with Joco for many a lap with hard, clean driving but figured if I didn't make a gaffe, I was home free. Glen recovered to pass Joco and marked me for a couple laps until he drilled me on braking for Adelaide and my 'vette skipped thru the gravel at speed to be destroyed against the barriers. Engine dead. Very disappointing. Grats to the podium! :)

Tough 25 laps to just be hanging on deep in the field! Was a last minute entry, and joined 1st with an Elan, but when I saw how bad it got pulled on the straights I went back out for another car. Didn't want one of the obvious ones so I grabbed the slowest of the AC's since it looked light with a decent enough hp/wt ratio. Plus it looked like a nice day for a drive with the top down... ;-)

Hadn't driven it before, and afterwards don't think I will again. Wasn't fast enough with the lesser motor to make up for the lousy handling. Guess the balance is too front heavy or something; not fun to drive at all. Would've been much more fun in the little Lotus!

Anyway, qualified in 11th, then got a decent race launch and made it up as far as 7th at one point. But I just wasn't quick enough to stay there and overdrove the tires trying, which I paid for later. Got into the back of someone in the chicane (Allen?) and waited for him to get going again, dropping back to 13th in the process. Just tried to get home in one piece from there, and had some fun dicing with Mark McLean and Mike Waltz late in the going.

The GT40 was the right choice for me. It wasn't easy to drive but it was fun and had a ton of HP. I snugged it up in the garage and then was just real easy on the throttle on corner exit. A good driver could really make some time in one of these I'm sure. I'm looking forward to this series and getting behind the wheel of a few more of these nostalgic cars.

Muscle cars and myself are not usually best of friends, but I kind of got the groove on the Shelby Coupe an it felt nice! Was surprised to get pole - and had a race long battle with Marko. I pulled away for the first half of the race but then started driving a bit too 'consciously' if you know what I mean... lost a bit of form... and Marko was right with me. We swapped places a few times in some cool outbraking & outbreaking onesself moves, both making small mistakes and giving positions back again :) !!

In the end I was lucky as he had a coming together with some backmarkers which gave me a 6 second or so lead and I eased off to the line for the last few laps.

That was some great racing side-by-side fun!

I had the best time in practice with the tvr, i was hoping for a good race, in first laps i spinned the car, had a nightmare trying to pass all those vettes.

I apologise one vette driver that i hit in the end of the long straight, but was very hard to control the car, and that place was my only chance to pass him.

Can´t wait to last race in magny, hoping to make a podium.
