TC65 Nurburgring

fun race, 1st lap a little crowded but a blast.

Well, Saw Joco get a bad run out of a corner and tried to pass him into the slow section. But got on the brakes and had too much steering and the mini just swung around. Joco much of had a great view of a sideways mini. Sorry Joco. Hit the wall and stalled the car. Then was trying to get the car back started but hit the ignition first without knowing so I couldn't start it. Took me 40 seconds to get it back started. Once I got it back running, I had a great pace and made lots of spots back.

Qualifying:
Good qualifying, 8th place. More time was to be fond however, but I didn't have time at all to prepare.

Race:
Race didn't went so well. While driving 7th I got literally swept of the track, that dropped me back to 11th, without any hope of recovering. Tried to gain on guys ahead of me, even set faster lap than in qualifying, but there's little you can do with Abarth.

Qual'ed very good doing an awesome time for the 'Stang.

On the start I took advantage of the muscle and took Kevin's spot. After that he was very close behind and I was trying to drive as relaxed as possible. Went a little wide out of the turn and it was a good chance for Kevin to squeeze by but unfotunately he flied by me. No prob there Kevin, u didn't touch my car even though it was pretty close :)
After that I saw Esteban had a little incident with one of the lapped cars. Took the spot but he got me back in the last turn. Nice racin there!

So it was a nice podium in the end.

I have to consider myself fortunate indeed to come away from this run with a P6 placing. I had showed in the Cortina and was not without some expectation of doing quite well with it but found myself in utter astonishment at not being able to get within about 1 full second of my pb. Exit Cortina. I ran back to the garage and leaped into my trusty Mustang and managed a couple of laps to qualify mid-pack. A good start saw me move up a couple of places straight off to run about P7. Kevin's gaffe into the tire barrier promoted me to P6 for the duration. I had a ripper of time chasing a couple of Minis but just couldn't muster the pace to make the bid. That and having my mirror filled with Alfas & Cortina made for a fun if tense ride. :)
