Euro MC: Jiading

Qualifying:
To my surprise I got 3rd.

Race:
I got of start great. First lap or two I drove bit conservatively.

In lap 2, turn 1, Nicolas T. got ahead of me but not completely and going into turn 2 we touched as he was trying to close the door while I was still there, I was completely on the kerbs, right to the left edge.

Few laps later I made slight mistake going out of T2, and Bas got side by side with me. As I was, obviously, running lower wing I menaged to be faster down the straight, but then weird accident happened, which I couldn't grasp until I saw the replay. Bas touched my rear left, I menage to save it, but then he hit me in the rear left corner. What happened was that I was going completely straight, while Bas was slightly turning right, and touch was imminent (might I suggest "Look Left/Right" buttons next time?). That damaged my car badly, and it was turning left on the straight, especially under braking, and oversteering badly in all corners.

Joco got ahead, but I did menage to get the position back, and hold him off for quite some time. I knew it will be hard to finish ahead of him with damaged car, and that proved to be correct. Exiting last turn car got into slide, I caught it, but Joco passed me. Next, while I was trying to close the gap, and did succeed on some laps to actually close it, I spun in T1. Luckily I had good gap to Rob, and menage to keep that P4.

Bas pressured me in last lap, but I had some 0.5 s buffer, which was enough to stay ahead.

All in all not very satisfying race, P4 is better than nothing though.

This was my first race at r2p and as I'm fairly new to sim racing my main goal was to get to the finish line in one piece and avoid being the cause of total chaos on the track :)
This being said I was pleased by 11th position after qualifying round and later in the race itself, after making few laps, for a moment I had hopes of finishing this in top10.
Unfortuantelly everything was ruined by a terrible crash with Nicolas T.; he lost control and stopped on the grass, I was 2 or 3 cars behind him - lost control in the same place of the track; my car strayed to the wall, hit it with great speed and after that all I could do was to watch how I hit Nicolas' car head-on at high speed. I'm really sorry Nicolas - we both suffered great damage (I could barely drive after that accident) and had to spend more than 2 mins in the pit. This ruined our chances to end this race on a decent position.

I made it to the finish line 3 laps behind the leader. This was a bit disappointing but all in all I had lots of fun and I hope that my future races here will be more smooth and crash-free.

Unexpected victory, in a circuit I even didn't think existed!
I think my lack as driver/setup engineer is helped with this mod as I always use the same setup and I just change tyres pressure and/or front springs, or probably it's just a matter of luck.
And nice track/mod combo, i like when it's possible to use different lines and you are not restricted to use just one and only that one. I think my first turns line was different than "the manual prescribed" most efficent, but i felt comfortable.
Grats to Milan who was always very close and this kept me focused, I was feeling he was waiting my mistake :P
