Euro MC: Laguna Seca

Ahh, after a really great QUALY I started one of my bad races.
Fabrizio takes the lead in first corner (maybe he was less fueled).
After few laps I lost control for a moment and back down to 4th. behind Matjaz.
Try to catch him and couple laps later did another little mistake that cost me only few seconds.
Still pushing hard catched both Matjaz and Roberto on the lead but could not past. Good and close race at the end.

Qualified 4th after a spin on my first lap in the corkscrew. I was not feeling comfortable with the car in that part of the track so a spin and damaged car was to be expected sooner or later. I then went into the pits but was afraid to press ESC to get a fresh car so I waited for my guys to repair the car which costed me a lot of time and car was still not 100% repaired. In the end I was able to get 4th place and after a decent start I kept my position following Roberto. After a mistake from Milan I was in 3rd and then Fabrizio stopped by the side of the road giving me 2nd place. Milan was clearly the fastest from both of us so he soon caught up with me and Roberto but did another small mistake giving me some breathing space for a couple of laps. Coming into the final 2 laps he was on my tail again and had a decent run accelerating out of the corkscrew where I was losing a lot of time due to my bad feelings with the car. I even had to take the defensive line for the last corner to stay ahead so 2nd place was really hanging in the air. Last lap was intense as well with Milan's increasing pressure but like he said, this is a very difficult track to overtake so I somehow managed to keep my 2nd place.

Last night the fastest driver on track was Milan who grabbed the pole with a great laptime.

I had a good start and passed Milan in T1, I wasnt light because loaded 42 lts (in qualifying was 4 tenth faster), enough to finish the race. Milan pushed me hard but after few laps had a light spin and dropped in P4 so that Roberto caught P2 and was 2 secs behind me with the same pace.........till lap 8 I leaded the race but Roberto, Matjaz and Milan were fast and solid within 6 secs........by the end of the lap I received a telephone call (I must be available at any time owing to my work) and was forced to retire my car...........anyway it should be hard keep back Roberto, Matjaz and Milan for all the race hehehe :-P

Hm.. great event time - 12 AM, many people have to work at this time! So had I... well, you lose good opponent =) Judjing by your Q-times, could be second on a grid. Maybe it must had been my first win here, I tested a lot and have a very optimistic setup for race. Very upset.
