Canadian Grand Prix

This race could be a good one for me if I didn't give up 6th position at last laps. :)

Fun racing with myself the whole time, I feel victorious just by not spinning out under power and finishing. Had one bad mistake slamming Matej, luckily he was not damaged and continued.

Qualified 3rd and that was a big suprise. Poor start for me, really down to inexperience as it was my first start here. I ended up behind Aubrey fighting for 5th. He seems to be having some rear grip problems but I coudnt get an opportunity to pass. Aubrey went into a half spin at one turn and I had no where to go but into him. I lost my front wing and had to pit. When I came out I instantly made a mistake and lost my front wing again. End of race for me.

My goal was just to finish the race after a disasters first race in Laguna. I'm happy with a top 10 and I'm looking forward to the next race.
No problem, Ryan. I think I damaged the car when I wanted to get out of the way and hit the wall with quick reverse. :) The car felt a bit strange after that, but was ok after my first pit-stop.
Sorry again to Yury. It wasn't fair to pass you under blue flags and I wanted to give you 6th place back, that's why I slowed down in that corner and you hit me.
Sorry also for lap 38 I think, when one of the fast cars lost some time because of me and another car...I was already a lap down to that car in front of me and I didn't want to pass him.

A Race of so many ups and downs...But none the less...a great one at that.

Qualy, I hit the lane first, I wait for the lights to turn green to exit pit lane and I get clobbered as I stand still, limp around the track to get a new car. They pull out my T-Car and I hit the track, get 1 good lap in, then wait for traffic to clear, then put my head down and decided to kick it up a notch and go after it on boost 2, crossed the line with time expired to hear "you got the pole great job" 5 seconds later George crosses and steals it , great lap george s.

Race, I knew my set was stable and fast, I would be patient and let things come to me, race started off with me and george s pulling away from the field, I am trying to figure out where I can get good run on him and it was on the back stretch, so I waited until lap 8 to get after him, I made the pass on the back and held it until the first round of pits, I exit and turn up the wick, george s pits the next lap and I get him on exit to resume P1, this remained until pit stop 2, I exit and try to hunt down george s but he exited right in front of me, we go nose to tail a few laps dodging traffic and get around him again on the back straight, held this a few until I overcooked it going into the hairpin where I thought my brakes were fading, Na, george took the spot away, now I am just waiting my time as not to over drive my car into a mistake,with 9 laps to go and knowing I can reel him back in but heading into the chicane where the wall of champions is located a driver loops it in the corner and allowed his car to free wheel backwards, right into the middle of the apex leaving me nowhere to go except into his right rear, Lost my wing, damaged the suspension heavily and the chance at the win, limped around without a wing and a crooked wheel for P2, Ill take it any day.

This was a blast, thanks for all the cars that allowed the easy passes.

Bah! Too angry about that race. People kept punting me. Better not say anything else until I calm down a little.

I came into this race late and got a setup from Garry. I joined a whim so i did not expect much. I feel like i am good with no TCS as i have a very smooth driving style so the car felt comfortable once i had the right setup. I qualified 6th and moved my way up to 4th by the end of lap 1. At that point i was trying to catch Bruce Brown and felt i had a chance to until i had a meeting with the wall of champions around the end of my first stint. I drove the rest of the race with an extremely damaged car and Bruce ended up DNF'ing. I had third but fourth place chris melton was catching me. It came down to his last pit stop ( i had already made my last) and he left the pits right in front of me, i was on his tail until the chicane before the hairpin. He braked harder than i expected and i had to attempt to pass him in the chicane, i was squeezed off as it is impossible to pass there and had a spin. I recovered and the final 10 laps i did my best to catch him but could not. We were setting equal pace due to my damaged car. I did however set my fastest lap around the end there.. i dont know how i did it but it was one of the first times i felt like i was "in the zone". Good racing everyone and i feel sorry i was not in this series earlier!

That was a really great race. Congrats To Jeff . You almost had me bud! Congrats to Chris for 3rd place and also congrats to all that finished.

Well I came into Qual right after it started. Qual setup was good for a 1:15.5 but needed 3 good laps to get it up to that speed. Ran 3 laps but made a couple of mistakes first time out. I knew that time was running out and I had 3 mins to get a car back out and up to speed. I managed to run a 16.1 and grab the pole on my last lap as the session ended.

I knew that Jeff was running less downforce and would be faster down the backstraight. What I had to hope for was to get a lead on him thru the twisty sections and keep him from drafting me. Jeff found a few corners that he made up time and drafted by me on the backstraight on lap 8. I then just followed and found where he was gaining time and would hold this data to be used in the 3rd stint.

Jeff pitted on Lap 18, I had just enough for one more lap but couldnt take a chance and really turn it up as I didnt want to run out of fuel so I ran a decent lap and pitted the next lap. I exited the pits right behind Jeff in Turn 2. I then turned to race strategy. I ran the next stint boost 1 to gain the fuel advantage. I was able to close on Jeff thru the RC section only to loose a few tenths on the fast straights. I found one corner that Jeff was consistantly pulling .3 on me (the left hander before the straight to the hairpin) and found I could match his time thru there. I tucked that info away to be used in the third stint. Jeff pitted on lap 38.

Ok time to kick in race strategy. the next 2 laps I turned up the wick (Boost 2)and knocked off about 1.2 secs a lap. I had almost enough fuel for a 3rd extra lap but decided not to push it. I hoped the 17.1 and 17.2 laps and a short fill would get me back out in front of Jeff. I didnt figure that my pitcrew would take longer for a short fill than it did for a full fuel load??? I did come out of the pits in front of Jeff but not with the advantage I thought I would have. He was too close and could draft me again. OK After Jeff drafted by me I stayed right on his wing and intended to push him hard to force a mistake. The next lap Jeff went a little too deep into the hairpin wide and I took the inside and got by him. At the end of the straight I saw Jeff 1.5 secs back and said to myself...Sorry Jeff your not drafting me anymore :-)

I pushed the car hard and pulled away about .75 to a sec from Jeff for the next 5 laps.

Jeff then had some kind of problem and dropped back even more. I relaxed and ran a much slower pace but found myself drifting away and not staying focused. I refocused and started running regular lap times and didnt know the car had something in store for me the next lap. With 5 to go I almost loose it as the Left Front Brake failed. Yikes... I tried to bear down and run as hard as I could but make sure I could get the car slowed down for the corners. I see Jeff is not gaining on me that fast. hmmmm, can I hold this thing together? I started thinking that the other brakes are gonna fail soon as I was getting on them much sooner and having to put the brake pedal to the floor. With 2 to go the right front brake failed. Double yikes! dang 2 more laps with only rear brakes. I pushed it as hard as I could and managed to get it slowed down. Last lap I can see Jeff gaining and now can see him in my mirror. all I have left is the backstraight and the chicane. I got on the brakes hard for the chicane...The car wobbled before turn in but I got it slowed and turned into the chicane. As I accelerated out of the chicane I could see Jeff coming thru the chicane but with no time to catch me now. WOW

After getting back to my pits I looked and found 1.000 front discs on the car? The pit crew got me again? I know in practice I bumped them up in size but never saved that info for the final race setup.

My hat is off to you Jeff as you put up one heck of a fight and didnt fold to the pressure I put on you. I know a few times I even got under you on the inside coming out of the Hairpin but you just stayed solid!

I have enjoyed some of the best racing in my life here on R2P. Everyone that races here has alot of class! I am looking forward to see what is in store for the final at Mid Ohio.

I was so looking forward to this race. After finishing at Orchard and knowing the Montreal-track quite well I was hoping for a good result here. The start of the race was so-so but I managed to stay out of trouble in the first two laps putting pressure on Craig. A few cars got into trouble and I managed to pass them and was running in 6th (I think) when I had a 2 sec lockup before the 2nd chicane. When the screen turned normal again I was heading for the wall. Lost my front wing and damaged the right suspension. I crawled back to the pits for a 40 sec stop but they don't repair suspensions there. The car was so undriveable that I had to hit ESC. Two minutes later my neighbour rang my doorbell to see if everything was ok (Just kiddin') :-). Grats to the guys who made it to the podium.

The final race has huge implications on the championship.
