Special Event - Fabcar 2hours

after about an hour and 10 minures, i hit something in the middle of the backstraight and my game froze. had to hard reboot.

Sorry to Greg M, i accidently punted him in turn one while we were racing for position. my bad :(

Sorry to have missed the race... Suddenly i couldnt find any of the servers! Reinstalled the game, mod, with changed profile it worked, but i couldnt race without my settings... sorry to have shown up during qual 2 times with name "x"

Anyways, if anyone else at anytime comes to same problem, the solution is in .plr file... just change:

Disable NetComm="1" to "0"
And this one 1 made me miss a hell of a race :(...

The race was fun for me (as fun-runs ar supposed to be) - I was quite slow, but had nice battles with guys around.

The longest battle was with Jerry - we were +/- 5 sec from each other starting from around lap 10 :) His crew was doing amazing job on the pit-stops and he was gaining ~5 sec in pits, and after the last, 3rd pit, he appeared 3-4 sec ahead of me.

For about 5 laps the gap was the same, but later somehow I managed to get to him and finally overtook entering T1.

After that we had James with ~8 secs ahead, but he was slower and with ~10 min, go, I was putting pressure on him, while having Jerry on my tail :)

The fun was over with ~5 min to go - I got CTD and some kind of "Application error". I hope, my uncontrollable car didn't hit anyone.

That's something like my 3rd CTD in 4 ot 5 1.5+ hours races I participated. Seems I have a problem on my side.

this was only my 2nd Race 2 Play event. And only my 2nd
signed up for event. It was fantastic experience.

i did make a rookie mistake and i sent my apology.

i hope i did ok and I'm looking forward to other events.

Thanks to Barry Hendrick and Tom Rue for helping me prepare for the race anyone else i practiced with this week.

A lot of fun. I'm not a huge fan of the cars or the track, but somehow together they made a great combination (like peanut butter and jam!)

My first laps of practice were in qualifying using Tristan's setup that I'd never tried before (thanks!). My first lap got me 18th, my second lap was about 6th, and my 3rd lap got me 2nd! I must be a quick learner :-)

The first stint involved battling Pete and holding onto Tristan. I pitted a little early, which worked to catch about 5 seconds at every stop, which kept me in the game. Me and Tristan battled back and forth most of the race while Pete's early pace faded. I lead with about 5 mins to go thanks to gaining on Tristan in the final pitstop, but I guess he was running slightly lower wing because he passed me a couple of times down the straight, but I'd go really deep in T1 to get him back. Eventually he worked out a way to stop that and I was left with no option, so had to settle for 2nd.

A very entertaining two hours, and congrats to Tristan on the well deserved win!

This race was a blast, thanks to a couple of guys that come online and ran practice laps with me, particularly, Kevin, Garry and Barry, Janko, Gregg, Ryan and Dennis. These cars are much easier to drive when good guys come and practice before the event ;)

I was not planning to run this one, but my curiosity got the best of me a few minutes before practice. Thanks to Barry H. for the setup, I was quickly up to speed for a good mid-pack race-pace and hoping some attrition would put me in the top-5.

The start of the race looked great from my 13th place on the grid (much lower then my usual). Everyone was patient and smart and it seems we all made it through the 1st laps cleanly.

I must apologize to a few guys (Tom, Kevin, Barry K, and others I dont recall right now). I rubbed a few fenders and put a few moves that would easily be considered dive-bombs. Im confident I didnt go over that line of causing a wreck or spin, but I hope you guys understand I was just racing you in your weak spots and my strength; which happened to be under braking as my straight line speeds were suffering badly.

The early part of the race was spent getting use to everything still. It took me a half hour to advance past a freight train of cars including Massa, Rue, and others. I wanted to be patient but I also know that the top-5 cars were pulling away. After sizing up this freight train I picked them off one by one the best I could. After the first stop at lap-30 I realized I may be able to 2-stop the race distance so started driving accordingly to save fuel. Lap-60 and my 2nd stop came around and I was up to 5th. By Lap 80 I knew I was going to miss the checkered flag by only a lap or two on fuel. I went in on lap 90 to take on just the 3 gallons of fuel I needed, without replacing the tires. This gained me the 30+ seconds to steal 4th from Dennis after his final pit a few laps earlier.

This is going to be a great series and I hope to be able to run in a few. Saddened that i can not commit to the entire schedule as it runs the same day as the F1 series and my F1 team boss doesnt allow me to lose focus by running in many other races anymore... racing politics gah!

Cant we just change the schedule? It seems to me that F1 guys (like myself) would enjoy Flabcar's (like myself)?

Agreed! There are lots of hours in a Sunday... If Fabcar and F1 did not conflict, this would be for the best.
