Fun-run: Megane Cup

Congrats podium! Fun but tough race for me.

I started fine, held my spot for a lap or two then spun myself going into the big downhill. I made a few passes then spun myself again to avoid slamming someone at the top of the hill into the S.

Then a few laps later I got a run on both J Barisoff and Lokman Ho going down the hill...LH closed the door up the middle so I tried to go inside and caught a wheel in the grass...slammed right into LH who slammed into JB. Sorry guys, ruined all of our races. This won't happen in an official race!<<<<< Lame excuse I know, but I have to use it.

Oh boy, i would need some more laps with these... i felt very uncomftable with the car over all race,... i lost it quite a few times, ... if that wouldnt be the case i think i d have a good fight with massa and tsarev for 3rd...

But as it goes, i spinned/crashed a lot, and sorry to joco, while i was overtaking him in T1, i locked rears and i was a rocket that hit him, made dmg to his car :(. my car was dmged even more so i just drove to the line and waited for gooden to lap me so it would be over...

As you see on the pic, at least i was flying in my megane,... litteraly :P

Qualed bad, got faster in practice...

Race started off pretty clean. Was following some cars and had nice fight with Tim. Suddenly Janko appears and knocks me in turn 1. Damaged car, 3 sec off pace :( and lost 2 positions, but it's just a fun run so no prob ;)

Qualified 5th but got in the wrong gear and got swamped at the start. Made a few mistakes but was 6th with one lap to go and then threw it in the wall and lost 3 places.

Great fun these cars!

Race starts, I make it up to 8th and in the WORST POSSIBLE part of the track, the chicane, my rFactor decides to minimize. I'm staring at my desktop as I hear my Megane SLAM into one of the tire barriers.

Congrats to the winners. I don't think I had anything for the podium but I was really thinking a top 5 was possible.

This was my first race at R2P for a few months now, so I was happy to have qualified the Megane midfield, despite very little practice.

I made a horrible start and lost 4 positions before turn 1, then misjudged it and ran into Gregg Mulgrew while basically on 50% brakes. I didn't quite pick how slow the T1 traffic jam can be, sorry about that.

Other than that, made a couple of passes, there was that incident with Ryan (apology accepted, I did make a mistake in the corner before which caused us 3 to bunch up), so I lost touch with the guys in front and couldn't catch them. Pretty lonely race after lap 8.

Looking @the Q times I expected very hot race - just 0.3 between P3 .. P9

Wyatt and my teammate Dmitry were way faster and I expected them to become 2 pixels on my LCD in a few laps, but my other teammate, Roberto, and John, Tommy, Janco, Samuel, Milan and Joco were very close and were going to keep me busy for the whole race for sure :)

The race start was safe and I managed to gain 1 pos. After that the race went quite calm - Wyatt and Dmitry started running away, Roberto was sitting on my tail waiting for a mistake - quite a "normal" beginning.

On the S/F straigh on lap 1/2 Dmitry got disconnected and I moved +1 place :(

Samuel was one of those 6 guys, who qualified within 0.3 sec behind me and he was the guy who was especially unhappy with his P7 and in the end of lap1 he was alredy 4th, behind Roberto. 2 laps later he was putting heavy pressure on me and I gave up 2 laps later.

Wyatt was 5 sec ahead by that time.

A few laps later I noticed that Roberto is under pressure from Janco. As Roberto was still on my tail, I didn't feel safe about my P3 :) But Janco wasn't hasn't succeeded in overtaking Roberto as quick as Samuel and until lap13 they both were ~1.5 sec behind me, not putting direct pressure, but playing on my nerves :)

On lap 13 (ouch) something happened and Roberto dropped a few secs back, while Janco disappeared from my LCD, which shows 2 pos behind.

OK, Roberto (P4) is 4.5 sec behind and just 4 to go. All I had to do is safely bring my new, just painted and arrived to the team, Megane to the finish line. And I did.

Roberto brought 2nd Kamrad Racing Megane 4 sec later.

There was not very much direct battles for me in the race, but I was busy and strained for the whole race.

I'm very glad that there will be the CST Megane Cup in S6 and expect it to be very interesting series.

Nice to see some Megane action in R2P , these cars are great fun and provide some very close racing. My race went better than i would have expected after a weak qualifying run , had a good launch and managed to pick up few places in 1st lap , then had a good fair fight with Roberto Massa and later with Dmitry Tsarev.

Meanwhile Wyatt Gooden in P1 had managed to build up a nice 4-5 seconds gap and it was impossible to chase him down on the remaining laps. We had very similar pace and Wyatt didn't do any mistakes , gap was staying in around 4-5 seconds through the race and i had to settle for the 2nd place this time :) . Well driven Wyatt , congratulations !!

It was great to be racing here in R2P again , very clean driving from everyone and even the lapping situations went just great...thx all and cya in near future... :)

P.S Thx for the setup Mr.Fish , proved to be much more stable than mine :).

These cars were a blast! All through the field the racing was so close, just total excitement. A little vulnerable on the damage physics but still would like to see this series at R2P.

I got off to a good start and made some passes, then Tom M got his car around with some help and I just nicked him as I threaded the needle between two cars. Unfortunately, Milan tried to avoid me at this point but he had to much speed to make any corrections and he side swiped me.
That sent me off to the pits after second lap. Then I hit a spoiler lying on the track and that caused suspension problems, back to the pits.

Still found plenty of good racing to the end.
