First thing.... No brake checking, please on formation lap, and before the S/F line...This caused me a "Stop/Go", then I pitted and I thought mechanics don't work on the car, well wrong, I spent 40 seconds in the pits >{...This was a terrible race for me, then I lost my FFB for the second time, I figured out the disco issue though...:S... Anyways, bad luck, tough race!

I loved this race, and these cars are soooo much better with their original power plants. Thanks to Tristan for a great setup, he got me 2nd on the grid, behind only him. I deserved 3rd, Dmitry was on his way to a smoking lap when we changed sessions. At the start, I got the run into turn one but was worried about cold tires and finishing the race in general, so when Tristan challenged around the outside I let him go. I knew I was no match for him and he just drove off. We had a few switches back and forth for 2nd, Dmitry and I, but he finally got by and took off as well. I remained in 3rd for the rest of the 1st stint and the only problem during this race for me actually happened in the pits. For some reason, Omar was sitting IN my pitstall when I came in for my scheduled pitstop. I had to drive through, go around again, and come back. This cost me the podium in the end, but oh well, what do you do.

Pretty much set into cruise the entire race, trying not to anihilate my tires (Tristan's setup was fond of the left front staying below about 240*F :p) I only spun once, and Kirill came up right behind me. He was pressuring pretty hard, but he got caught up in lapped traffic coming out of turn 1 and pretty much dropped behind completely. I ran the rest of the race quite slow, really, just keeping the car pointed forward.

I'm very satisfied with this race, especially because my last three races here have been completely AWFUL. Congrats to Dmitry, Tristan, and Milan, nice job. Can't wait for the next one!

i had great fun racing today with a lot of guys.

i only have one regret about this race. i inadvertently slowed Tristan on the back side after the chicane on the last lap which allowed Dmitry to muscle by him.

very sorry Tristan, if i'd know you were that much faster than me thru that corner i would have flashed you both by long before. i was just trying to stay predictable in tandem with John Onofrey, who i'd decided not to pressure unnecessarily.

also, to Dennis, sorry for screwing up the chicane and sliding into you toward the end of the 1st stint. looks like it was fully side-to-side, so hopefully you didn't suffer too much damage. and after watching the replay, at least i'm happy to say i diagnosed the problem correctly at the time as rear brake lockup.

other than that...

i want to acknowledge Barry Hedrick's setup, which was the only thing that kept me interested in this series. now i know these are very fun cars to push.

not that my times show that i was pushing them that much. i think i have to keep the HUD set to show my split times so i have a bit more incentive when running all alone.

on a somewhat sour note, i have to reply to Tom's comment, as i was that "lapped traffic".

Kirill took himself out in T1, apparently with power over-steer. And, frankly, i'm considering filing a protest about his on(and off)-track behavior after that, which i won't go into here.

over-all a great, fun race! just sorry our teammate Ralph suffered a disconnect.

For some reason i could not find the rythm today i had last night.

Qualy went okay, I was hoping for better but...ill take what i was awarded.

Race started off hectic, I had a great battle with my teammate Barry for the first 5 laps until i tapped the curbing of t3 and my teammate served up some under steer to my dismay :) and that sent me kissing the michelins that were so nicely stacked on exit of T3 :( From there It was race as hard as I could with the damage I had. My calculations of fuel mileage last night placed me with 22 laps per stint, today...same set-up and only 19, not sure what was up with that but non-the-less. I pitted and exited behind my other teammate Garry, we had a 19 lap run of nose to tail swapping positions a couple of times, As the chaser I had the luxury of calculating what my final stop should look like, As we were racing each other hard I ducked into the pits, catching Garry off guard, then Knowing i could not hold Garry off with old tires I put in the bare minimum of fuel and took on tires, I thought for sure Garry would beat me out with not changing of tires, was i surprised that i passed him on pit lane and took home 6th.

Quick work after the race.

P.S. That last little clip is from a practice session minutes before qualifying from that hectic Champ Car race we had yesterday. I know Scott Michaels is the 4th car in the train and I'm the 3rd car. Found the situation very entertaining, especailly the last car coming into shot at the last minute :p

Great Video -- you've inspired me. Congrates to podium. My race was not so great, got smacked pretty good but to be fair I did not have much time in the car and my setup was total crap -- almost expected to get tagged.

So I spent another hour or so (post race) trying to figure out a good qual/race setup and it finally paid off with consistant 1:54's (drastic improvement over my 1:57+).

I ended up with major wing changes from 2/7 to 4/11. At first massive oversteer -- but with some rear tuning that can be dialed out to a manageable state. From there I worked on the shocks to be able to deal with the bumps (especially last turn onto front straight). It's too late now, but for next time I finally have a setup that will work and easy pretty easy to drive consistantly.

Tom O'...That pit situation should have not happened, it is my understanding that everyone had their own pitbox, it is a very large track with plenty of pitboxes....

Anyways, I was in 1st, in what was my assigned "PITBOX", getting serviced, but who was to know we both shared the same pitstall, right!, I didn't know, so why is this my fault ?... :), anyways, I'm glad you mention it so that we all can be aware that this can happen again in the shorter tracks, specially if the tracks have less pitboxes than there are cars... ;)

How do you get the camera angles to tip??????

I don't remember exactly what it was called, but there are settings that you can assign buttons to in the controls menu. It's something obvious like "Camera tilt", I remember that much. Mine are I, L, K, and J but those aren't the defaults.

Can't wait for Bathurst, that will be simply amazing. And will make for some awesome pictures :)

P.S. Omar just to let you know I'm not upset. You're right, its good we know it can happen. This actually isn't the first time this has happened. A while back, one of my first races, I got screwed out of my pitstall by my teammate at a V8 Supercar race at Eastern Creek. That was GTR2 though.
