Corner of my eye watching F1 race on TV during this race :).

Anyway no chance to catch the leaders, grats Tristan and Dmitry.

The race was pretty bored for me.
Dont know yet of my appearance in fantasy track Orchard, and rest races, also?
maybe Silverstone and Le mans.

Boy...Just not a good race weekend for me. First my comp decides to re-boot after 63 laps in the GT-I race, then after starting the 3rd stint in this race, the power goes off for 5 1/2 hrs. SHEESH!

Qually'd much better than I thought I would in 4th. With a decent start, I tried to keep up with Milan but he was running a tick per lap faster and eventually lost sight of him. Pretty much ran laps for the rest of the stint. Then 4 or 5 laps into the second stint I spun and tagged the wall taking off the front spoiler and in for repairs I went. Came back out in 5th behind Dennis and started closing that gap for a while, up until the 2nd pit when the coffee kicked in and Dennis kept the gap at an even keel when all the sudden...blink...the power goes out :-(

First of all, I need to give my apology to Jerry Chen. The very first lap I was right behind him and simply got on the brakes too late, clipping his rr corner and looping him around. Watched the replay several times and it's 100% my fault. Very sorry Jerry. I've punished myself by not making coffee this morning, and trust me, that's harsh. ;-/

Had a fair qualifier that held onto 6th on the grid somehow. Surprizing considering the talent behind me. I really thought Dennis M. would obliterate my time because he was turning 31-2's in race trim in practice the night before.

After I spun Jerry and did my drive through, I knew I had my work cut out for me. I just tried to stay focused and keep it on track as I worked my way back up through the field, and before my first pit stop I found myself back up in the top ten.

On the first and second stint, I was trying like hell to catch up to Barry Kennedy. The entire time we were no more than 3.5 seconds apart, and as close as nose to tail, with him in front. During the middle of the second stint, BK and I encountered a crapload of traffic from both ends. Leaders were putting a lap on us and we were putting a lap on others. What an exciting time in this race and I gotta say you guys are friggin' awesome! The judgment out there is soooo much better these days that it's actually a pleasure. I stuck to Barry's ass like white on rice, but just never got the opportunity to make a pass. Great job BK.

On the final pitstop, I did a quick fuel calculation adding a bit more so I could run the boost up if needed, and on exit I was in front of BK by about 5 seconds. I figured I'd put it in cruise mode for the remainder of the race, but BK was rapidly closing that gap, so I cranked the boost to try and build a little cushion, but BK was still closing in for the kill. With about 5 min. left, the leaders came up to put another lap on us. After letting them by, BK had the gap down to 2 seconds. Now I know I'll be ok if I just don't panic and keep it on the track, but with a 1:50 left in the race, I started getting fuel warnings. I didn't think the leaders would get to the line in time for another lap, but I was wrong and I knew I was in trouble. Got to S/F line and it started sputtering and ran out of fuel in T1, having to watch the entire field go by. :-(

All in all, it was a great race for me and kudos to Tristan and the rest of the podium!

Hard to believe this was the 1000th race at R2P. Time truly does fly when you're having fun.

My pace was quite reasonable,however,after escaping from qual after a couple of laps i got connection lost.As i went to update the srevers,i noticed a light had gone off on the modem.Exit the game,reboot modem and wait an agonizingly long time for connection to isp.I had some good battles after starting 13th.At the end of the second stint,i was just in front of Garry and came out in good position.Then Garry pitted and i ended up behind him and things got interesting with a lot of lapped traffic and being lapped.With a few laps left,i figured i could not catch Garry,however,suddenly the gap started to decrease and i felt he might be getting low on fuel even though he pitted after me.Mid way through what turned out to be the 2nd last lap,i saw the message telling me the 90mins was up.After crossing the start\finish line,Garry pulled off track and i started to do the same when it occurred to me that i hadn't seen the checkered flag,lol.So i took off again just incase.

These cars are really fun. Wish we had a bigger field. They make for great racing.

After Garry woke me up from my 8:30am nap, ;) I had a brain fart and didn't bother checking the damage before re-joining the field. If I had looked, I would have saw my wing was gone, and could have gone straight into the pits. Instead, I tagged onto the end of the field, until I hit the first chicane. Under heavy braking, without the rear wing, the rear end had a mind of its own as i turned into the chicane. Had to do some serious sawing at the wheel to save it. Limped around at half speed for the first lap and lost a bunch of time.

That threw my pit strategy out the window, and since I was already a lap down, decided to try and see it I could make it on one stop. Had some fun racing as I fought back through the pack. Tristan, Dmitry and Milan all did a great job negotiating traffic as they flew by all of us.

Did my one stop at exactly 45mins, then started watching the clock.

With about 10 mins left, started doing math in my head, and realized I would be short about 3 laps, started short shifting like a mad man. Sometimes just cruising down the road not really accelerating, and forcing myself not to use 100% throttle. But at the same time, had to watch my tail. Gregg M was closing fast, until I saw him peel off and do a pit stop. Big sigh of relief. But that lasted for about a lap and a half, until I see the gap from John Onofrey closing down fast.

Got pretty close, thought I had saved enough for one last flyer, so I picked up the pace and drove like normal, until I cross start/finish and realize the clock is still going. I guess Tristan had crossed the line before the clock hit 0. Doh! Dragged the car around one last lap, watching John narrow the gap down to 1.5 sec. Crossed the line with fumes, less than 2 litres left.

Dmitry and I had one second between each other for nearly the whole race. he short-stopped his first stint, which staggered he and I by seven seconds or so until the second stop, where I took less fuel than he, and we both exited the pits side-by-side!! Sometimes you just can't even script this stuff. And so began an epic battle for 1st...

Nearly every lap in the remaining 20 minutes, i would get a short run off of Dmitry down the front straight into turn one... but he would always hold the inside line, preventing me from completing the pass. But, with five minutes to go, He got his braking wrong for the final chicane at the end of the backstraight, and I capitalised. This time, I was the lucky one with the inside line, and I made it stick into turns one and two. In the last few laps, I pulled a small gap of maybe 1.5 seconds, but Dmitry peeled into the pits one lap from the finish, as I imagine he short-fuelled too much by accident when he saw me pitting at the same time as he at the beginning of the third and final stint. I cruised home in the final lap, finishing with 0.6 litres of fuel. Wicked!!

Again, apologies are due to Gregg... I was impatient trying to get past him thru the turns three and four sweeper set, and got him airborne. There was a space for another car beside him, but I don't know what I was thinking. It was a stupid, rookie mistake. I'm sorry Gregg :-(

Well done to everyone who finished, and again to Dmitry and Milan. I've got my work cut out for me if I even hope to *tie* Dmitry in the standings! I feel Silverstone will be the wildcard event in this series.

...I sure wish George Sandman would give these things a whirl...
