Mid Ohio

Some screwy things goin on at Mid Ohio. Sorry Tom O! That sucked and I too was fearing my FFB. Thanks Tim for hanging in there and I have read nothing about these issues at this track. Sorry everyone for the issues!

Man I was as prepared for this race as I could be and let myself down BIGTIME. First pit I gave myself a drive thru, (pit entry speed) then with 5 min to go I got STUPID for no reason as noone was around me for posistion and went off the track to do a front end test....it didn't hold up and had to go get it fixed with one lap to go. I'll take the top 10 again. Congrats Tristan again and the podium.

Hey Barry not your fault, I drove that track the other day in Champ car and said there were some funny screen flickering in certain sections of the track weird.
@ Mike Arn - Mike I am really sorry for the light tap, I don't know if it was a FPS issue or just didn't expect that much braking from you there, again sorry.

Good racing guys, aside from a dumb mistake costing me 33 seconds I finished where I started not to eventful for me.

Qualy went okay, placed where I thought I should fit in @ P7.

Race started off crazy, hectic pace, I had kept my head into the fact I can't out run Pete or Tristan so I continued with my pace, not much to report in this stint, I enter the pits P5, first round of pits come and all is well, I exit and when the pits are over I am running P4 with a sizable gap to P5, I keep my pace as to take care of the left front and the second stint went un-eventful, I call into the pits for my final round, I get the crew is ready signal, I putt putt down pit road hit my marks and the head crew guy is looking at me like a deer in headlights :( I yell are you going to do something or do i need to get out of this car and do it myself, at that moment I cannot locate the door handle, so I opt to make another pass around the track doing a cancel pit and calling for a new one, I enter the pits and get serviced and begin to try and recover my lost ground and this is where the fun starts, dennis my teammate we battled for 13 laps nose to tail with me finally getting him at the end of the back stretch, as we go into T5 I see him inside of me and I leave room and brush the wall taking on slight damage, I battle back with 2 minutes to go and I pushed the envelope just a tad too far and looped it coming out of T6. I pressed my teammate pretty hard and he held his ground, nice racing there dennis.

My first time racing these cars they are alittle wild. I was a little slow tryed to give everybody room finnished better than I qual.No problem on the bump Gregg thats racing fun racing you guys congrats to winner.

Wow, that was a fast 90 mins. It didn't seem 2 mins after the start that the 10 mins left box popped up.

Very happy with 5th in Qualiy, and in the first laps I set about chasing Barry. After not being able to get close enough to make a move, my chance came has he spun in T4. That put me up to 3rd as Pete Spun a couple of laps earlier, all though I didn't notice that at the time.

Tristan and Dmitry were miles up the road by this time so I concentrated on building a gap on the guys chasing me. Moved up to 2nd after Dmitry left, and I even found myself in 1st for a couple of laps :).

Coming up to the pitstops I had about 10 seconds on 3rd place. Luckily the pitstop went well and I was soon on my way again. When everything settled down again I found my self back in 2nd. But instead of having around 10 seconds on 3rd, it turned out I now only had 5. Pete just came from nowhere and totally surprised me, he was nowhere when I was making my first stop, and now he was right their and catching.

It wasn't long before he was right on my rear end, and it was pretty obvious he would pass me, all I could do was to keep going hard and hope he'd make a mistake. But he wasn't going to make a mistake today, and a couple of laps before the 2nd pitstops where due he got me on the inside of T1.

We pitted at the same time and he had about a second on me when we entered the pits. My pitstall was right near the pit exit with Petes being about halfway up. I stopped on the markes and the crew got busy, with me watching my mirrors all the time to look out for Pete. The pit clock was ticking by and still no sign of Pete. 33 seconds where up and I was off the jacks and getting on my way. Still hadn't seen Pete in the mirrors, but As I was pulling back onto the pit lane out of the corner of of my eye I spotted a car which turned out to be Pete. We were nose to tail down the pitlane and as soon as we crossed the exit line we where off again.

I knew If I was going to repass him this would be my best chance, but unfortunately for me I never got a chance and he soon got a gap on me that I couldn't do anything about. After that I was just concentrating on not being lapped :).

Another great race guys. grats Tristan and Pete and everyone who finished. Thanks to the guys for letting us past too.

Fingers crossed I see you at Le mans :).

Qualifying was a bit hectic and just couldn't get a good run in. I managed to get into top 10, but just barely.

The first stint was an absolute blast! The entire run was with L. Anderson, K. Banic, D. Morisette and P. Devine all running nose to tail with some excellent racing. Even P. Bunce got into the mix for a few laps after he had a minor off. Can't believe how fast that 1st stint went by. Seemed like we just got the tires warmed up and it was time for the first round of pit stops, and that's when all my self inflicted troubles started.

I entered the pits a bit late, hopping over the strip of grass to the right and this in turn didn't trigger the pit crew to give me a pit stall, leaving me no option but to go around and attempt it again. I made sure I crossed the line correctly this time and everything was as it should be, 'cept I guess I got popped for speeding when leaving the pit stall. I turn the pit limiter off to leave the stall to lesson the risk of stalling it and I assume I didn't enable it quick enough. When I came around to serve my penalty, for some reason it didn't clear and I was forced to come around again, now the 4th time, to try and get it cleared. Finally it cleared the penalty, but it ruined any hopes for even a top 10 finish. I'll have to watch the replay again to see what I did wrong. I don't think the track is buggy, I honestly think it was my own doing.

All in all, it was a great race. Especially the first stint. It made it all worth it to me.
