GTPC: Dubai

well, that is one way to get my first win! the start was kinda funny, lol. I got a pretty good holeshot coming out of the last corner, and I didn't account for cold brakes/tires and I went way wide in the first corner, lol. so, I spent the next few laps getting up to 1st again. Gabor and I had a pretty good battle for the next couple of laps. I had a run on him going down the back straight, but I couldn't see my braking point, and I went WWWAAAYYYY too deep, so he swapped positions with me. so, I made up a second and a half or so, and then I got him coming out of the first corner. when I had the gap around 2 seconds or so, I saw that I could maintain it pretty comfortably, so I started going easy on the car and preserving it and the tires so I could push later on in the race. with about 20 laps of fuel left, I started pushing to make up time for the pit stops. I had about a 12-15 second gap when he pitted, and when I came out of the pits, Rob was in the lead, and I freaked out cause I thought it was Gabor, haha. so, I started pushing, then I saw the car was black, and I didn't worry anymore. then when I overtook him, I was just sprinting to the end. oh yea, this race was a backmarker-fest, too. hah. oh, and again, sorry to the backmarker I took out. when I flashed my lights twice at you, I thought you saw me and you were giving me room. then you moved over into the racing line, and I couldn't stop. again, I apologize. good race everyone!

other than that .. horrible race . i race worse and worse from race to race ..

This was an awesome race for me, I had the car hooked up so well, but not enough to take on the 2 leading 550's .. wish i could have.

Lazlo needs a checkup at the hospital i think, Man he took a hard knock on the final corner and did about 6 cartwheels!! VEry impressive, spectacular, but a shame!

I must say congrats to the G2 field, I had no scares and only fun running on the track with you all today! well done

My Start was nice, I jumped Joseph after his little scare, but when he got back passed I was able to maintain a solid laptime and pull away from Daniel, Rob and Roman..

I had a nice 5 second gap up when all of a sudden it started closing down, and I was looking who it was, it turned out to be Roman on a charge in the viper. I started freaking out, trying to figure out what was wrong with my car now that he was pulling me in like this.. we battled for a few laps, in and out of traffic .. ALOT of fun!! We came into the pits together and was preparing myself for a 2nd stint battle. But it wasnt to be. Unlucky Roman..

I almost thought i was coming home with second after getting infront of gabor when he came out the pits, but 7 or so laps later he took it back.

roman was on a charge at the end of the race again, but i was well clear, and decided to lift off to let John Passmore defend position against Cladiu... I was a little shocked at the end result of that battle, from my angle it looked like robbery.. Unlucky John..

We had a nice fight after the pit stops.
I know that the Prodrive Ferraris are very fast, maybe the fastest cars in GT1.
So the glory is yours... :)

I don't have much driving experience with GT1 cars, so i was driving care. Didn't want to make mistakes.
I saw at the beggining that Joseph is faster so i tried to avoid big fights. I also knew that i'm faster with the Ferrari than Heinz, so i had to driving just for the safe finish.

She was slow and heavy- never broke 1:40- but good fuel mileage and hard slicks allowed a NO stopper, and a respectful finish. :) Pitting is a waste of time!

Had a CTD in Qualy and thought this race is over for me but managed to come back and do a medium good lap.
The high temps didnt worked with my set from Valencia.
Started with full tank, knowing that a win was impossible when 2 550s are in race. The better part of the race was the great fight with Heinz over so many laps without unfair shots or touching.
Coming together for pitting I must have done something wrong, because back on track again he was over 15sec in front of me :-/
Pushed then till the end and came 4sec after him over the line.
We need longer races :D
