RACE 07 - F3000

Very fun little race.

I tried to join you guys on TS but again my mic is not working. Dangit VISTA!

I got home from work late but made it in time to at least get some laps in, but then for some reason I could not connect to the server! Finally got in at the end of qual, loaded up the default set and tried to get a practice lap in but not enough time left.

So I started from the back and tried to learn the track and keep the car on the pavement.

These cars are so fun to drive, I love it. Can't wait for some more f3000 series races...

Any way we can make the races longer?

Too bad replays are hosed for now in Race07, as that would be a fun one to watch. Very tight first half with Heinz leading, then you and I nose to tail the rest of the race. Dumped our laptimes into Excel to see the time gaps between us, and our average gap for the race was .39 sec, with a max of .7 - close one.

Almost blew it a couple of times when I got sideways on upshifts, having remembered right before qualifying to turn autoclutch off. Annoying having to do that every time you start the game, and it does make driving a bit trickier with it off. But its fuunnn gritting your teeth and hanging on... ;-)

Despite the platform's shortcomings, I'm really enjoying driving some of the cars. Bring on the Caterham races!!

Great job podium.

It was fun, but my frame rates were HORRIBLE!! I'm really surprised I didn't hit someone and any time I got even remotely close to David the warping was so bad I dare not think about making any attempts.

Odd because the very same track in WTC cars a few hours earlier was smooth with good fps and no warping. Is it just the F3000 cars? Anyone else have this problem? My system is no lagger either, Intel X6800 @ 3.2Ghz, 4GB RAM, ATI 2900XT 1GB (two of them in Crossfire) Cat 7.10 drivers - Vista score is 5.9. Ran a DSLREPORTS test for my network connection and it was pretty good at 7929 Kb/s download and 1495 Kb/s upload with a 20ms latency.

I hope to see some official Race07 events -- and hopefully I can sort out what is going on hardware/software wise. rFactor has similar issues but GTR2 does not -- of course I had no issues under WinXP, just moving to Vista x64.
