Euro e30: Vara

Qualifying was ok, my first lap being my best. Subsequent laps had another 2 tenths in them in sector 1 but I couldnt bring it home. Then in the last seconds of qualy, Darren put a great lap in to pip me for pole.

My start was great as Darren seemed to bog down and I lead into the first bend. It was going well and I had a 4 second gap to Frederic as he held up Scott and Darren. Scott got past and was gaining on me slowly. I wasnt to concerned because its very hard to pass here. THen on lap 5 the foot plate came off my ecci pedals. This was at the start of the lap and I had a 3.6 sec gap to Scott. It was a nightmare from there. I had to balance my heels on the edge of the frame, but I just couldnt brake properly. 5 corners later scott was past as I my braking was a mess. I held Darren up for a couple of laps, still hoping to pick up 2nd, but I lost it again under braking. I lost a lot of places this time as I was in an awkward position, plus I stalled! In the end brought it home 9th. A bit of a mess!

These cars are a lot of fun, as is this track! A nice little combo....
Qualifying was a disaster, I arrived just as it started and went out, and lost my splitter on the outlap. The car still felt fairly good so I carried on and set a banker lap. Came in the pits and there was 1 minute left? What? The timer must have been wrong when I joined because there's no way it took me 9 minutes to do 3 laps.
Anyway, had to start 4th after that and forgot how to start these things so I got a shocker, but managed to hold onto 4th. Overtaking here is really, really tricky, so although me and Darren were both much quicker than Frederic, we couldn't find a way through. Darren would have a stab, then as he got held up I would have a go at him, but the positions remained the same, until Frederic had a spin in turn 5 (the first slow left hander), which held up Darren and I shot around the outside of both of them! I quickly put my head down and set about catching John who had escaped, which was pretty easy after the footmount on his pedals broke. He was clearly struggling under braking, and it only took one mistake and I was through. The rest of the race was pretty much just trying to keep off the walls and cruise home. Better luck next time John!

Things started badly when I lost the back end on my first flying lap and put the front in the wall, luckily not too hard a contact and the car was fine. I was more careful after that but I caught a couple cars on the next laps and I had one left. Nick let me by on the straight (thank you) and I finally put in a decent lap and it was pole for my century race, so I was relieved and very happy with that.

Race
Most costly mistake of the night was to lengthen 1st gear and not adjust it back for the race. I don't think my start was that bad but John and Frederic went straight by me. That was very frustrating after earning the pole and knowing how hard overtaking would be. John pulled out a gap in front and Frederic kept Scott and I behind him for the first half of the race. Then Frederic lost control and I just managed to avoid hitting him but my hesitation cost me the chance of 2nd because Scott somehow reacted quicker and found a gap outside me. So he went 2nd and chased after John in front. I tried to stick with him but he was too quick, John eventually had problems and Scott took the lead and I closed up on John. Followed John closely for a couple of laps until he had a mistake around the end of lap 8. I just avoided him and after that I just had to bring it home for 2nd. A very nice result to mark my 100th race.

A race to forget for me. Coming into the obvious pile-up spot (T3) on lap 1, I braked a little early and gentle as I could see cars close ahead. Got punted off and driven through, finished up at right angles to the track and sitting right in the middle.

My only option was to drive forward into the wall and think small, hoping that people could get through. Unfortunately Matej couldn't. Really sorry about that, not my fault I was there but it still felt really bad to realise you were stuck nose-on to the side of my car once the dust cleared.

After that I closed back up to Kevin pretty quickly and couldn't get past. Sort of fun trying, sort of still cross about my ruined race. Then ran into Nick when he span out and broke my car (just the risk you take on street races, no worries) and only bothered to drive the last two laps to the finish because I'm stubborn!

Should have practiced more so my own fault for being slower than required.

Had some good battles once I had learned the track, then disaster struck, sorry Rich, and bashed up the front of the car.

Tough track to learn but enjoyable catching these cars as I chucked em round.

My firts podium here in R2P. I threw few practise laps before qually and my best was 1.52.xxx. In qually i made good result for me and suddenly i dropped 2.5 secs away from previous pb and clinched 6th position.

At the start of race i managed to keep my position. In T3 (tight 2nd gear corner) someone braked very early and i hit him in back of his/her car causing him to spin. SORRY ABOUT THAT! After that i managed to keep my consistency and drove nearly identical laps for rest of the race. Few guys spinned from in front of me and i moved slowly to 3rd place.

At the last lap my pulse was something like 200. I noticed 4th place driver was fast and were catching me 1 sec per lap, but i controlled my nerves.

BTW i can't watch any replays. Not my personaly recorded and also not that replay wich is available here. When i press play from replayfridge game freezes to that. Anybody else having same problems?

Yes I also had problems with the replay but I've just updated my graphics drivers and thought it was due to that somehow. My game freezes for ages when I click "play" on the replay but it does eventually load, it took about 4 or 5 minutes to get there. That was with the server replay.
