See my blog entry. Very pissed off at the fragile nature of Race07 and a skins file that probably needs a little more testing before being available.

1. Got pole but had another car starting with me in the same grid spot - instant contact at the start - oh joy!?
2. Not having the skins file was causing CTDs, after installing skins file no CTDs
3. Was getting blue flags waved at me while in 2nd spot?
4. Cars would randomly pop up in front and disappear never to appear again.

So when are we due for Race07 patch?

Heartbreaking. That's the only thing I can say about this race. In practice my computer kept freezing. Was getting good times. The night before I ran with Mark Peeler and he showed me some good lines. Got into the 150's after his coaching. Qualified 11th which isn't bad for me but thought I could do better. Got a good start, stayed out of trouble, and was up to 7th. I think it was Chris that I tapped when he got sideways on about the 7th lap. I'm so sorry for that but I braked hard after you went sideways but couldn't avoid the tap. Final lap was running 5th and then the computer just froze with just 3 turns left! I'm lucky nobody was around, or they would be hospitalized. Just wanted to kill somebody. Oh well, next race maybe I'll finish. At least I learned alot this last week with everybodys help, and these books are really helping. Just trying to be smooth and let the speed come to me. Thanks guys for all the help, and was really fun to have a decent pace for a change.

Rob, I think that was me. I clicked "Race" with about 1:50 left before the start of the race. I wait and wait. About 45 seconds before the race is to start, I start up front with a message saying that the grid is full???? and I'm right next to another car. This is the first time I've seen this bug. I figured I'm screwed so I try pressing ESC and it wouldn't exit out until the lights are out and all the cars are in motion.

The CTDs, slow frame rate and Chevy Lacetti issues were present last night on the R2P server. I went to an Otau server and had no problems.

Pete, seems that there are definitely some issues and I'm glad it is not just me. I hope Tim takes a close look at the Skins file or something.

Yeah, this was a race to forget. I just hope it doesn't happen again. First time I've experienced this many problems in a Race07 event.

I noticed Steve opt'd out of the race too saw a "this sucks", too bad. I was looking forward to this race. I felt sure Steve and/or others would get into the 47's.

What's up with the Chevy's in the Spec E30 series?

My race was going well, started 15 and worked my way up to 11th. On the 5th lap my brakes all locked up going into one of the hard right-handers and the car slid into the wall, and died, ending my race. I think the guy behind me may have wrecked trying to avoid my car as he was right behind me going into that corner, hope I didn't cause you to wreck out of the race.

Absolute disaster. I messed up qualy, fine. I messed up the start and lost a ton of spots, fine. However, I then managed to flip someone on the first fast left hander-- I haven't seen the replay yet (too disgusted) so I apologize to whoever that was. In my defence, feeble excuse that it is, the frame rates and lag were horrible. It got worse in practice as more people joined the server, then the race was pure torture. I did not know what to do because I did not want to DNF but it was hard to control the car. Then, I was following someone who was lagging like mad (flashing in and out) I could not figure anything out and missed a braking point by a mile and ended up in the wall.Car was too broken. I hate to collect a DNF under these circumstances. For sure I cannot take part in Race07 races, my rig which runs fine all the other sims (maybe not on full candy) has major issues with Race07-- not so much in practice or even online with one or two people...but more and it becomes simply impossible like last night..Apologies again to those I made contact with, particularly the gentleman on lap2.

Yeah i saw that wreck Francesco. You 2 were lagging out horribly. I was right behind you 2. You kept cutting in and out. Wonder if that helped your wreck out a bit. I too had issues only at the beggining. When all the faster cars got a bit ahead the lag stopped and i was fine. Was running 6th at the end but must have picked up a 5th when someone dropped out. I'll take it. Tough track. Great track though. I enjoyed the track alot but the issues of Race 07 are just too nuch come race time. I will continue to run them cuz i truly enjoy the cars and racing that comes with it. I also had an issue in practice where there was someone else in my pit stall. So i believe a massive patch is in order. After that day comes we should have a blast. These cars and the others available on this game make it worth it to at least try to run the next few races before i launch it.

I had Jason flashing so badly in front of me that I couldn't tell if he even was actually right there or not. I was trying to stay off of him for fear of a drive-thru for punting. Then he becomes solid and it launches my car. He finally blinked out for good towards the end of the 1st lap. I then moved into the top 6. Igot a great tow off of the car in front of me, I missed the now new braking point and hit the wall. Had to wait for traffic to go by, and I dropped down the list. That was about it until the end whenOmar and me battle like it was for a million bucks! Great fun Omar, that was great. I got by him, but then he gets a great hole-shot, motors right on by and passes me clean, nice pass! Those last couple of laps made the race worth running.

Everyone had problems here with connection and discoing it seems. I went airborne early on and flipped in the air multiple times. Then I landed on my wheels and kept racing. Was kinda fun! The car was pulling left badly the rest of the race though, so my laptimes got slow. I am happy with 8th, but sad because my teamates had connection problems. People with custom skins were blinking on and off the whole race in front of me.

I never expected to get up to 6th considering my pace and all the cars that were blinking in and out, but I managed to stay connected and clear of the jittery obstacles. I was frequently astonished I could keep the car on the road despite the abysmal frame rate. The armco did the rest for me- I passed numerous cars nosed into the rails. Had a good battle with Omar for a while until he too became an armco decoration :)

I wouldn't hold my breath for a patch- historically Simbin only releases one, and we just got it.

Hopefully next time things will be better once everybody has the skins and we've moved on to a graphically less demanding track.
