Euro e30: Zandvoort

Woooooooooow having no force feedback SUCKS! I should have just dropped out of the race right at the start.

The car was decent, I guess. But having no force feedback, I was afraid to even do anything risky. I was timid passing for the most part. I spun at least once every 2 laps, at LEAST. No more FFB-less racing for me.

'Grats Scott, Frederic, and Allen. Never even saw you guys this race.

Messy old race this one.
I really struggled to get a grip on the track in practice, but I pulled out a single good lap to grab pole in qualifying.
Got such a poor start I had to triple clutch it just to stop it stalling. Maybe I was in 2nd gear or something, I don't know, but it dropped me down to 3rd. I was following Alexey out of the last corner on lap 1 and ran straight off the track, came back on in 7th I think but kept making mistakes. I finally pulled my head back on and started driving half decently around lap 5, when Alexey went off infront and held up Brian, and we had a tight half lap battle for 3rd. Unfortunatley the recovering Alexey ran over me in the chicane at the end of the lap, and I rejoined back with Maurice. Going around the last corner he made a mistake and ran wide... can't tell if we touched after that, but he ended up on the grass and I got the place. Sorry if we touched Maurice, glad it didn't cost you too much. After that I sprinted off after the leaders. I made my way passed Brian when he made a mistake, then a lap later I got a run on Allen, he blocked me onto the grass (aggressive but fair I think), but I still decided to outbrake him and took the place :P That was a fun move!
I came across the line and saw I was 8.4 seconds behind Frederic with 7 laps to go. Probably no chance of catching but I thought I'd give it a go anyway. He didn't seem very consistent and I was able to take chunks of time out of him, and caught up on the penultimate lap. Going into the last chicane of that lap my game suddenly synchronised (I think Steam was updating), and when Frederic reappeared he was behind me and flashing his lights, so I assume my warping car must have knocked him off. I let him back through but overtook into T1. Fred then span half way around the lap and I cruised home. Phew!

I need more practice with these cars...right now I suck big time :)

Had one terribly scaring moment on s/f straight - I tried to hide myself behind someone and use draft to overtake so I saw absolutely nothing ahead. After a second or two he moves slightly to the left so I'm about to move right and overtake and then suddenly in front of me on my right a car parked in the middle of the road appears. Whoaa! I literally jumped on my seat. Few cm more to the right and I'd hit that poor guy head on at more than 200km/h. - there was absolutely no chance to do anything. We were both very lucky that nothing happened.
