USA e30: Zandvoort

Sorry for the bad start. I went from Qing to the garage for more gas and clicked on race and nothing. Clicked back to garage and nothing. Franticly cliked on anything and nothing. Hit the keyboeard with my fist and whala! I click on race just in time to see the lights go from red to out, slammed it in gear, but was a major road block for some. So I'm really sorry for that. As far as the race went, it was fun. Good driving by many. Peeler was on my ass for the last 4 laps and was faster, but somehow I managed to hold him off. Thanks Mark for driving so clean. You made that race very exciting for me. Happy I got 6th, but I think Mark deservrd it more. See ya all around for the next one!

I had a good launch off the start and went to move the car over a little and noticed no resistance :-0. No FF for me and it was hell, it's like learning a new sim all over. Anyway, after a couple of off's i just tryed to drive smooth and not push it to hard.

This season has been a real bummer for me. Had a dnf at Monza, and now this. Oh, and i will be on vaca the last race. Have to see what next season brings.

Good to see Charlie back out there trading paint. Had a nice little battle with him the last 4 laps.

My apologies at the start...I had a great launch and no one in front of me and just when I was about to pass another driver the door was closed forcing me to the grass when back on track and spun, but some couldn't avoid my car...Sorry...Other than that, it was boring...

Ok, that was fun!!

I didn't qual as well as I ran in practice, but I can't complain. It was a pretty good time, just a few 1/100th's off from Kevin. Great job at pole Kevin -- looks like we got the Euro guys cover (you listin' Scott?) ;)

I got a so so start, hit 2nd gear a tad too early and Steve came up the middle. So it was Steve in T1 first, me, then Kevin.

It was a intense 3 way battle up front. I made a mistake early on that gave Steve a good gap and nearly gave Kevin 2nd. But we kept on it and caught up to Steve again. Kevin was faster in some parts I was in others and Steve was in some. Was gonna be one heck of a fight.

I had a passing opportunity on the front straight but just couldn't pull it off. Made another small mistake and Steve opened the gap, clawed some of it back but had destroyed my front tires in doing so.

Looks like Kevin may have got a little too much curb and had dropped back mid race. So it was just Steve and I. I tried some more but again came up short.

This is one of those races where you wanna just shake the hand of the winner and go well done. Steve ran a great race from start to finish. Congrats.

Had a similar issue as Charlie. Finished Q and it never changed to race. When it did it said 15 laps in the upper right corner where the countdown clock usually is. Then i was like ok. Said good luck and noticed that the drive tab wouldn't let me in. Then noticed you guys were already racing. So i appologize for the race chat in the beginning. didn't know you all were on track already.

My fate was inextricable tied to Matt Crash's last night, leading me to pull two questionable moves. The first was during qualifying- Matt went off entering the fast right hander after that insane hilly straight, and re-entered the track right in the middle of the turn. I saw him with plenty of time to react, but I was on a flying lap and thought I could keep inside enough to get by him. No such luck, I drifted too far left and absolutely creamed him from the rear. Went to pit to fix my car, and was surprised when the auto-pit thing didn't take over. Had no idea which stall was mine so I ended up hitting escape after passing all the stalls, then rejoined. I was stressing over the "no escape" rule, hope that was ok.

Then on lap one I got into it with Matt again in the exact same spot. This time Matt went a bit wide and had to slow dramatically to keep it on track. I came through at full speed and drifted into him again, though from the side this time. The impact pushed him the rest of the way wide and into the sand. This time I was in a quandary about the 1st-lap punt rule. I thought it was a racing incident, and didn't qualify as a punt because I was alongside at the time. I would welcome a review on that (not that Matt has asked) and will take a penalty without complaint if I'm wrong.

After all that, though, Matt caught back up to me in the last few laps and we went at it clean and hard to finish the race. We were side-by-side for a good third of a lap, it was a lot of fun, and Matt got by to take 9th. I felt like I drove 10/10ths all race and I ended up... 10th! These cars are very easy to fling around, and I really need to learn to resist flogging them to death early in the race so I have something left for the end.

Fun race. Can't take anything away from Steve. He drove a fabulous race. Rob was on his back side for a large part of the race and he just stood tall and kept it in front. I was on Rob`s bumper trying to pass to challenge Steve but mid way trough the race I just used too much curb in the last turn and spun out. From that point my rear tires were gone and it was a crazy hand full to drive. Glad I kept it in 3rd.

And congrats to Rob on clinching the championship. Way to go Rob.

Sorry to hear Charlie & Scott had some trouble with the quick turnaround from qualy to race, but I feel you guys' pain - I missed the start for the last F3K race the same way! A shame Simbin couldn't have left the bits that weren't in need of fixing in GTR2 alone when they did Race07...

As for my race, I had to work harder for that one than I have in a while, and the fastest car was definitely not the one out front. Qualy didn't go so well, since I really only got one clear flyer in and was getting such bad paging and stuttering during that lap that it's a miracle I stayed on track. Poor memory use is one more reason not to like this game - if the cars weren't so fun to drive, I'd just bin it. As it is I alternate grinning and cursing Simbin.

Would've still been 3rd on the grid in any case; though I'd managed some mid-hi 48's in the morning, I was a bit off that pace in the evening and hadn't seen low ones like Kevin and Rob did anyway - they were both clearly quicker than me.

My saving graces were my start, which put me into the lead at T1, plus the fact that I was getting off the last corner pretty well. That made it tough for Rob, who'd slotted into 2nd, to get a run for the only decent passing spot on the track. Aside from the S/F straight, it would take a big speed differential, a mistake or a shove for anyone to get around. Knowing that, I just tried to keep from overdriving it and giving anything away via a mistake.

Rob was crawling all over me most of the race, but I did get a gift when he almost went off on the second lap or so, giving me a couple laps of breathing room. I doubt I could have held him off the whole time if that hadn't happened early when the tires were fresh. Felt kind of bad about being in front since he was definitely quicker and would've dusted me off if he'd gotten by, but I guess that's racing.

Kevin looks to have had some problems, but with room to run had the fastest car on track; I expect Rob would've been in the 48's too if he hadn't had me in the way.

Great drive though, Rob - you definitely made me sweat for that one!

Sorry, had a bad first gear, I couldnt get off the line or get myself out of the ditch after I got sideways onto the dirt. Was trying to drive too fast to keep up and crash in the spot that totalled my car

At the start I had it in first gear but when I dropped the clutch nothing happened so sorry for being in the way there. After I finally got going I was surprised that I actually was passing a few cars here and there. That made it fun and I even scored a point so it was good.
