Euro e30: Istanbul

First of all, congratulations to Allen on winning the championship.
Once again this week I couldn't find any time to put in any practice so turned up in the middle of qual and had to learn the car again. I'm fairly familiar with both car and track though so it didn't take much and I was able to grab 2nd with my one lap of qual. Unfortunatley, Allen was on pole which meant I was becoming increasingly unlikely to win the championship (I needed me to win and Allen to finish 4th or worse).
Once again I forgot to turn off autoclutch and got a crap start, dropping to 3rd. Took 2nd back fairly quickly, then took the lead from Allen through turn 8 on lap 2 I think. I didn't really want us to break away from the pack because I knew that wouldn't help me in the championship, so I drove at about 80%, fast enough to keep Allen behind but it brought Frederic into the battle too. Eventually Frederic broke through both of us and I had to chase him down with Allen sitting comfortably in 3rd. When I caught Frederic I passed him in turn 8 but we made contact at the final apex and he went onto the runoff, then made an extremely unsafe return to the track right alongside me. I was pretty pissed off about that so I made sure to take him back at the final corner, but he again contested the apex aggressively, made contact and went off, this time spinning out as he got on the grass. Sorry the battle had to end that way but when you drive that aggressively and unsafely thats always bound to happen.
Anyway I pretty much cruised home but there was nothing I could do about the championship. Congrats again to Allen, you earned it!!!

Congrats to nick who pipped me by a point, my target for race was to try and pass you in the final standings, nearly! :)

Started 4th, chased the 3 cars in front for 1st half of race, just hanging on within 2 secs of 3rd place, just wasnt fast enough to catch them.
2nd half of race was watching my 4 sec lead over john dixon behind get smaller each lap until about 4-5 laps to go he was right behind. My tyres were completely gone so my entry into some of the corners were slow and more of a slither so sorry john if that caught you out. John got along side me at t1 exit but we either touched (hope not!) or he ran wide. Good race john. happy with 3rd

Bit false Brian when I have done it on appearances but those are the rules :-]

Never really got to grips with these cars, so another season may help but will concentrate more on the Shark events. Maybe I need to tweak my wheel a bit for Race07 I don't know.

Grats to Allen on the series win.

I made a terrible job of qualifying. My outlap was ruined when I put the car in the wall. So had to pit and come out. Enough time for 2 timed laps but they were very poor indeed and ended up at the back of the grid.

Race was fun as I was able to slowly pick people off. I eventually ended up behind Brian fighting for 3rd place. I could see Brian stuggling on worn tyres epecially out of turn 1 onto the long uphill section. On the last lap I got a good exit out of turn 1 and had to go wide so as to not hit Brian. Unfotunately I went too wide and ran off track. All my own fault !!!!! Anyway the chance was gone, Brian drove it well to bring it home third with me fourth.

This was my first race at r2p for nearly 2 months, and it was good fun. Congrats to scott on the win and to Allen on the championship, well done and well deserved.

Well what can i say. 1st time out in this car and only had about 10 minutes to sort a setup out. HAd a decent race pace and was josseling around the 5th 6th 7th places mark untill i pitted as the games said i could only have 14 laps of fule so took 8 laps out with me, only to find that after the pit stop that no one else stopped and that the car could of done the distance with a really respectable finish :-( Lesson learned
