Oschersleben Euro Cup

Not much to say really. Could have got a 23 in qual but ran out of time. Got away from the pack on lap one and by the end of lap 2 I couldn't see anyone in my mirrors, so I decided to take it easy, then push again if anyone came into view. Well, nobody ever did, so I just cruised to the end.

Shame to have such a small field, these cars are really fun and fairly easy to master, would be nice to have some more drivers though!

Third attempt at finishing a Radical race, first was a disco, second another disco but before the start. This time it finally allowed me to finish.
Put in a new PB in quali and got 4th on the grid, happy with that. Very tight in T1, firstly Kent got caught out by my braking in front of him, he avoided me and made a great save to still get his car turned in. Allen was literally right on my bumper as I reached the apex but we all made it through successfully and Scott, Joco and Pete took off in front. I thought that might be it but Pete got wide onto the back straight and I took 3rd, then a few laps later Joco did the same thing. I'm not sure if it was an attempted block by Joco as he was regaining speed but he dodged right in front of me and I had to swerve back to the other side of the track at the last second to avoid him, I had a chuckle to myself but it was nervous laughter! I know there's nothing wrong with defending your position but the pass was inevitable at that point and I just wasn't expecting the move, so it nearly caught me out.
After that I managed to open the gap behind but was never going to compete with Scott, so I just made sure to bring it home safely. Really pleased to not make any mistakes and not get another disco.
Grats to Scott and Joco.

Damn PC locked up half way through race, had to quit-grrrrr

Well I was really tired before the race, didn't sleep over the nite much and put no practice for this as well.

Did pretty good in qual getting behind Scott.

Started great, had the best start of my rivals but Scott was on the inside and I couldn't get the chance to take position. Soon started making mistakes and did some stupid things like blocking Darren(sry for that)... My brain just said goodbye a few times LOL Anyway Pete took my position too and I though 4th was it, but he than crashed :/ Giving me the 3rd.

Anyways, I was a bit lucky but unlucky also, a fine race still but too bad so few signed up :|

1st time using the Radical's and had about 40 minutes pre-pratic to try and get a setup together. Managed to scrape one together which get me into the high 26's, but when i joing the practic session the tyer temps went all to cock. Best i could do was a in the mid 27's. Out raced and out classed, seriously impressed with the pace of 1st place. Maybe next time.

My first time in these cars also. Decided to join about 30 minutes prior to Qual.

Grabbed the default set and jumped ontrack, came into T1 and promply drove it into the wall LOL. This track is different!

Anyway, by the time qual came I found myself a midpack car and qual for me putting up my best lap for 6th.

Got a decent start and as we headed to the braking area for T1 I couldn't see and drifted right a little for a better view. About that time I saw Darren was already braking. I swerved right to avoid taking him out and quickly found myself half in the kitty litter and sideways. Then the car began to lurch back onto the track! Somehow me and all the cars around me managed to get thru without any contact....whew!

Came into T4-5 and saw Allen clip the inside curb, this launched him across the track sideways and Allen almost saved it but I got past easily.

After a few laps of finding rhythm I was shocked to see that 2-3-4th place was still very much in view and I was liking my chances at a podium. Seemed like Pete and Joco started coming back to me about mid race, unfortunately Allen was slowly closing up on me from the rear.

Looking at laps remaining and the gap behind was now pretty steady so I go and drive it into another trap handing 5th back to Allen. I made a charge to close within 1.5 of Allen only to make another mistake.

In the end I finished 5th, one better than my start, but that was only due to Pete's misfortune. So not a great debut for me in the Radicals but it surely could have been worse. On the otherhand, Scott was blinding fast and even with some serious practice I don't see myself getting anywhere close to his times.
