USA F3k: Estoril

Not a bad event for me, although my setup was pretty sad with a lot of understeer tonight.

I had nothing for Tristan just as Steve Parson had nothing for me and so on. Looking at the results it appears just about everyone finished where they started.

As for pit stops......how can the stop times be so far apart when the game controls the stop? I see pit stop laps ranging from 2:03 to 2:29?

Anyway I constantly fell back from Tristan until I stopped and came out just ahead of Steve. Managed to open up to 5 seconds from Steve until the final lap I drove it off track and almost gave away 2nd place.

Grats to Tristan and to the low DNF rate we saw.

Considering the list of names starting this race, I'm happy to score a podium.

I made a typically poor start made worse by the fact that I'm still getting used to the G25 shifter. Lost a position to Brandon and balked Rob. Sorry, Rob. I'm glad you were able to work your way back up the field.

It was pretty straight forward after the start. I chased Brandon but was unable to mount any kind of challenge for a pass. After the pit stop shuffle, I was in third and stayed there until the checkered.

Congrats to Tristan for the win and Kent for the podium.

I got hit and run off the road at the start by Rob and into the wall. :(
I recovered to midpack by T3. I fought bad FPS the first half of the race. It improved a bit the second half of the race after everyone spread out. I ran by myself for the most part and pulled out a finish where I started.

Sorry Garret! My fault -- I got a great start, but when Steve didn't move it caught me by surprise and I had to make an avoidance move just as these 2 stroke motors (that what they feel like to me) hit their power band which sent me into a wicked tank slapper.

My apologies to Vance also, he and I were having a very good battle trading spots back and forth. At a corner where I didn't expect Vance to brake he slowed and I tapped his rear - again all my fault. Fortunately it didn't send him off and I backed out after the contact. Unfortunately he ran wide in front of me 4 corners later -- I wasn't close so hopefully that incident wasn't because of any damage??

I had managed to get into the 4th spot but there was no chance of getting to 3rd. Then Brandon came up behind me and it was the classic low downforce vs. high downforce battle, but ultimately in the twisty bits he won the battle as I got on the throttle too early and took a ride on the grass and Brandon just cruised past me probably saying "thank you".

I never really felt comfortable in any setup I had with the F3000 and I had spent a couple of hours trying to find one and then I think I ended up chasing the ever slowing track with setup changes that ultimately didn't work after the server was reset. Off line I was in the high 27's online it was a crap shoot with anything from low 28's to low 29's.

In all definitely not one of my better races and sorry to all the folks behind me at the start.

I am surprised by my qual time here; I did not expect to get so close to a 26. I had many of the same problems with grip as everyone else here during the practice session.

During the race, I had yet another engine shutdown and non-auto restart at the pitstop, which cost a few seconds. I also had a double-downshift into 1st... not sure if that was my own doing or if the paddle on my G25 acted up (which wouldn't be the first time). Either way, I somehow got it collected without spinning, but Kent gained several seconds back on me so I never really had an opportunity to ease up on my pace and relax throughout this race. kent was always consistently fast behind me, wheras I felt like I was making little mistakes all the time.

See you guys at the next event... hopefully without pitstops! (please please please please, PLEASE!!)

Congrats podium and finishers, I expected at least a few DNF's! I just couldn't keep up. Not much racing around me last night. I did consistent laps with no off's however so it was ok. Good race, see you next time.

Kent- braking into and acceling out of pit lane would account for a few seconds.

It was an up and down race for me. I almost took second from kent right off the bat but then i soon realized that i put too high of downforce on my car and it was not going to "work out better during the race". I could have held for third but i made some really dumb mistakes that sent me off track.

After pit stops i found myself behind Rob and an epic battle ensued. He spun off the road to my relief because i did not know if i was going to be able to pass him with my high downforce.

4th and still in the points is a good result for me

This was my first event in Race07 and I was quite happy with my pace considering my limited seat time.

The first half of the race went well and I had a great battle with Rob. I honestly don't recall any contact Rob, so no worries there my friend. I worked my way up to fourth and pitted with 10 laps remaining. This is where my lack of seat time bit me in the butt.

As we took the grid, Tristan reminded us to map the starter on our wheels. I did so and wondered why. It then occured to me that I had not done a pit stop in Race yet. Wish I would have as my stop was a good 10 seconds longer due to the fact that my engine was shut down during my stop and it took me a while to figure out the trick to getting her fired again.

I rejoined in 9th and finished the race in 7th with 4th thru 6th a meager 7 seconds adrift. All in all a terrific race with some very skilled and courtious drivers. Looking forward to the next event.
