Euro nGTx: Donington

I pushed a quickchat key by mistake in lap 3. Sorry, I was trying to see car damages.

My race: idiot mistake when I was 2nd 0,5s behind 1st. After this, I lose the concentration and made some mistakes and press ESC.

My first race in this class and it was a good one. I much prefer GT then nGT cars.

Qualified on pole just. 0.016 between the top 3. I thought I had blown it as was .21 up and ran off, second to last corner.

I watched and hoped nobody would better my time. They did not, but it was soooooo close.

I had never ran a 60minute race and did not have enough time to try out different strateges. So went with 100l fuel and pitted for the balance and new tyres.

I was about 13 seconds ahead prior to pit stop but after I came out suddenly Darren Adams caught right up and Tolga was 9 seconds up the road. I thought I made a good stop but I'm guessing thet never changed tyres?

I chased down Tolga and had a great battle lap after lap. I could not get passed and he was making it very difficult for me too. Great defensive driving.

I knew if I could get passed I would be ok. Finally I got passed and opened up a little gap.

It was a fun race and I really enjoyed that.

Everyone was very well behaved from what I could see.

Well chuffed with a podium in a race like this. I didn't expect it atall and to be fair, Tom should have been there until the end to fight it out with me. I followed him within a second for the entire first stint but he discoed some time around the pit-stops denying us the chance to resume the battle. I had Scott to worry about instead, even though he was in the Modena I know how fast he can be in that thing. Luckily the RSR just gave me enough to maintain the gap and I didn't make my usual mistakes. Very happy about that after some of my recent gaffs.
Grats to Brian and Tolga.

A good race with a troubled start. Borut was behind me and had a flying start. But in T1 he slightly touched Tolga but both managed to stay on track. It made me slow down and go wide though which didn't help. But then .... right after T1, Borut slowed down on the straight right in front of me for I don't know what reason. What happend there Borut? I had to let go of the throttle and steer into the grass which dropped me back to 13th. :-( It took me the whole hour to regain 5th again. But that happend with some close and fair racing with both Mark and Heinz. Great racing there guys, I really enjoyed that. Grats to the guys who made it to the podium.

Wow i felt really wet after that race lol.

Qual was very close and 3 guys broke the old record and all times were between .14 secs which was great.

I didnt prepare for the race too much as usual and this paid off bad again. After race start i was very slow compared to the guys i was very close in qual. But i was suspecting that Brian would be using softs and would change tyres in pits so i had to get a rhythm to make similar laptimes till pits while he was increasing the gap.

After pits my thought seemed true as i was in 1st position. But soon after i seen Brian on my mirror and said this will not be easy for me to defend this time. Just because hes too fast, he was closing the gap like 1-1.5 secs per lap and 6-7 laps till the end we started the fight. We fought in every place of the track. He was clearly faster but ppl knows me that i never give up :), but 3 to go in first corner i closed the inside line and had to brake a bit earlier, but couldnt avoid being passed by Brian then he made 4 secs gap in 3 laps after passing me.

Tough race. Managed to gain a few spots at the start but it was short lived as Borut stopped me going any further because i nearly took him out on the first lap by giving him a tap but luckily he held it and saved my ass from a drive thru, also had Heinz all over me for alot of the opening laps, i knew he was alot quicker in the RSR and that had me looking back maybe one to many times to check if he was underneath me thus maybe slowing us both down, but maybe he was considering my 3rd place and didnt want to do anything to jeopardize that, but a couple of times he had good runs out of certain bends and i was sure hed have a go underbraking, so i left him some room by taking a wide line in and out of a few corners but Heinz stayed where he was.

As the race went on i could see a few cars bunching up behind me one of which was George pol who must of passed Heinz and by the looks of it was in no mood for messing and promptly pulled off a nice late brake pass at the chicane, shortly after that Hienz had me too and i was struggling to keep up with them.

Then most people pitted and a while later so did i, was hoping to get out ahead of Ari by not taking tires which may not have been a good decision but as i was pulling out GP,Heinz and Ari all flew past in that order. Again struggled to keep them in sight and just nursed the car home.

Congrats to Brian on a good win and good going by Scott to in the 360 Modena.

All I can do in these high-level races is just stay in the back and try to finish in a decent position. After the first few laps I was all alone with no one around me, so it was an "easy" race for me just letting drivers lap me by from time to time. I also had the chance to witness a few real close driving in some turns between Brian and Tolga.

Start was fine. During the first laps I was in 5th with Scott right behind. Eventually he got past, only to make a little mistake and allow me back in p5. Then I lost the rear in the chicane, costing me 15 seconds and 5 places. I got stuck behind a group of cars so I pitted a little early.

In the pits a car took off right ahead of me without using his mirror, I have to assume - result: contact and some more time lost. I also needed to add some fuel, so all that meant George and Heinz were still ahead of me.

Towards the end I got closer to Heinz and then his braking error in the chicane elevated me to sixth position. Not too bad, considering how things didn't work out so well for me and this track isn't so favorable to me.

Congrats on your first win Brian .. Against someone like Tolga thats mighty impressive!

This race was my first in a month after 3 week vacation and seting up my new pc.. Wanted to do well, but was just looking for a finish and getting back into the swing of things.

Quali was not good at all, was easily supposed to clock a mid 1m31 but kept making mistakes on chicane, and ended 10th.

the race started cautiously but soon was under way. Had one of the best bumper to bumper runs for a long time with Mark, i was just happy to wait for the right moment, becuase mark seemed to be getting it wide on the last 2 corners aall the time, and i was looking to slip inside once to get passed.

Racing Mark helped George catch up and got passed after a few laps, I had good racing again with george til he got passed mark. this is when i got passed Mark again and tried to hunt borut down.

Borut was slow before pits, but i dived in on lap 21.

Second stint was just trying to stay ahead of George and Ari who i seemed to have gotten passed, but George was on a mission and a few mins before the end messed up the chicane and let ari passed. Was now happy to finish 7th.

Awesome racing up front lads, Mark, George.. Really had fun tonight!

P.s Pablo ... there is a pit speed limiter button .. Use it!

I will need to watch the replay later as I know it will make a good watch during the second half of the race.

That screenshot could be taken at countless points the amount of times we were side by side.

I also want to draw a line under the issues about race registration.

I fully understand that as a basic membership member at the moment, I'm only here to plug the gaps. I'm happy to concede my slot to a driver who has regular attendance and pays for the right to have first choice. That's fine.

What I think everyone wants to see is really good, close racing and what that normally requires is bigger grids.

I've not had much involvement with R2P but the same keeps happening. Tonight shortly before the race there was 34-36 drivers registered. Only 19 raced.

If the premier members can't make the race is it unfair to ask them to unregister as early as possible?

This will allow people like myself the chance to come in and get a race and feel of R2P.

Also if people know they can get a race instead of waiting and wishing, it will make them more commited to turn up and race, get the bug and join.

That's my point of view and I'm sorry if people see that as offensive.
