Zhuahai 350k

WTF happened there,sucks.I had setup with fuel for 86 laps.Started off with 100l,1st stop,50l and tyres,2nd stop,supposedly 90l and no tyres,then run out of fuel?

This race was a blast for me! The biggest suprise was that my average lap time was over a half second faster than I had practiced offline in time trial mode. I normally loose a second or more when I go online.

Except for very end of race, I was in traffic with cars on same lap so even though field may have been small, it was over 2 hours of very challenging driving!

I hope I did not block too much...

I was having a great race with my teammate Brian when the engine gave in, there was no warning and the temps were just about 90 degrees, thats 1 dnf that really sux!!

Apology to Barry H, misjudged you were letting me by and pushed you into a spin. Sorry!

Qualifying:
Ruined first laps on dry so I had to really muscle it through on damp to get that 1:29.7 and seconds place.

Race:
Race was disaster, made more mistakes than I can count, especially in 3rd stint. Finally, left out of fuel half a lap to go. Beautiful! Pete pushed me over the line, thanks mate!

Exchanged places with George in 2nd stint.

That's about it.

I don't know how u guys go so fast,maybe it's not to late for me to take up tennis.

Had some good battles, lost out big time every pitstop, losing time and places. Pretty consistent pace throughout the race, but just too long in the pits.I thought i took too much fuel on my last stop but i ended up having to pit after the timer went to 0 as i only had .2L left in the tank and the leader hadnt crossed the line.

Ah No apoligies needed Enis. My race was pretty much done anyway with self made detours.

I did have some fun today though. Qualifyed better than I thought and could actually run better than I thought.

Thanx for the setup Dennis. I was struggling with the set I had which I've ran here many times but just couldn't get it in a groove. Could've been the hour and a half I spent last night practicing in the rain. So I threw his set in and made 2 small adj. and felt pretty good.

Because of an early off after starting out in 5th I fell all the way to 10th and made up a couple of places when I decided to take a detour and smack he wall knocking the wind out of my RF tire. With 8 laps left on the first stint I wasn't thinking when I went in and should have filled the car instead of just stint fuel which I did do for the 3rd stint and tried to get 51min out of a full tank. Just so you guys know, in a Saleen this will not happen! Conserved my ass off but still had to go in the 3rd time for fuel. I finished the race but the last one running.

I was happy with 3rd in quali but I messed up T1 once the race started making me lose 2 places to John and Barry. Got 4th back after a few laps and was handed 3rd when Enis got into trouble in the chicane. The 1st stop was a bit crowed in the pitlane with John and Nuno leaving almost at the same time from pitspots right behind me. Enis managed to get by again and we followed each other for serveral laps. Then I took the chance I got to pass him. Did my 2nd stop a bit early and when Nuno made his last stop I was just in front of him into 2nd. The whole 3rd stint I had to race my ass of to keep him behind me and was very pleased to finish in 2nd. Grats to John on a great win and Kieron on making it a UK-NL 3 in the top 5.

Barry K, I'm guessing you pre-set your stops for 50L at the first and 90L at the second. However, due to a bug in the game that never got fixed, the crew will ignore the second (and subsequent) settings and just fill to 50L again. Best bet is to always plan your strategy to equal stops.
I had a crap qually, the damn game put me back on mediums again, so had to pit straight away for softs. After that, I just couldn't get a clear lap, so wound up 9th.
First stint was a close fight with Kieron, Allen & Brian, but I ran 3 laps longer and was able to jump them at the first stop.
Second stint was quieter, though this time I was racing against the gap to Barry K, who I knew would make a shorter final stop...TOO short, as it turned out!
Third stint, came out just behind Barry and had to apply a lot of pressure. I had nothing for him in a straight line, but could gain on brakes and through the turns. Eventually, I guess he got the 'low fuel' warning and was distracted enough to leave me a gap. Then I saw I was catching Enis, which surprised me. After some laps, I figured he was short-shifting, so I turned the wick up a little. Sure enough, last lap and the Saleen dies - right in front of me, still don't know how I missed him :)
