Gran Premio d'Italia

I signed up for the event about one hour before race, so I hadn't enough time to practise.

I blew my engine in qual, I shift down directly from 4th to 2th :S

I did a good start, I went from 16th to 7th in the main straight. I'm sorry Heinz about the touch in the second chicane. I was doing a good race and had nice battles, but in the final stint, my left front brake disc broke, so I hit the wall in the las turn :S

My brake duct size was 6, and my brake disc broke, is that normal?

I was considering about running the whole next championship, but I think that involves a lot of time, I'll need some practice.

I had the wrong pit strategy: thought 3 was brilliant, but soon realized there was nothing brilliant about it based on my speed and everybody else's two stops.

Worst thing of my racing season (F1 and not) happened today when in being lapped, I forgot my own strict rule about "sticking to the rules" of lapped traffic and right after Curva Grande I gave a lift to the throttle moving left and Tristan had nowhere to go.
I had a lot of damage, had to crawl back, spent a minute in the pits, the car was undrivable after that but I did not want the DNF.
I spent the last 20 minutes of the race with my heart in my throat wondering if I cost Tristan the Championship besides the race-- thank goodness at least I didn't do that, but what a pathetic end to the season for me.

Pablo...the disk brake fix allows you to increase your disk size so it won't blow. In my case I switched to the default setup just an hour before the race and forgot to increase my brake disk. I still had some excellent races with everyone.

Edit: Don't beat yourself up for it Francesco...fortune prevented your mistake from being serious. If anything you should get an award for most improved driver...keep everything oiled for next season.

Qualified 7th but Darren lost it off the line and he went off at 90 degrees, taking me with him. Front wing and suspension damaged spelled the end for me.

I got in on this race as practice for next season and I just didn't want to affect anyone's series. I practiced everything, including starts but I didn't know about the Launch Control until a few minutes before quali when Heinz mentioned it. I immediately assigned a button to it and went out and practiced and I thought I had it worked out. Unfortunately I must have done something wrong and the wheels just span when I let go of the button, I tried to control it but failed and Maurice, Richard and John got caught up in it, I'm really sorry guys. John, I'm sorry that ruined your race, I felt really bad all through the race, wondering how much damage I'd caused to anyone else, just wishing it hadn't happened.

I limped round to the pits with no wing, spinning twice in the process, got repairs and went back out. Then I was told to do a drive-through so I went back in. My HUD still showed damage around the car but it wasn't far off the best times I could expect and the rest of the race went without a hitch. I will definitely practice these starts before the next one.

I got into the back of Richard really hard on the start, ended my race and I know it hurt john, but I see he finished tenth, good Job

Don't worry about it Darren. I managed to avoid it, no harm done :)

The crash that ruined my race happened after that. Got hit in the back pretty hard. Looking at the replay that must have been lag. I can't think of another way to be unable to react to slow cars at the chicanes for about 200 meters/3 seconds.

Result: Both front and rear wing gone, suspension gone on all four sides, both rear tires punctured, steering gone.....

After the above I thought my race was over but I managed to get it back to the pits. The engine was already pretty hot when I went in so I thought it was going to die on me. Surprisingly it survived a 52 second stop with the water temperature just about to pass 170 degrees Celcius.

For the rest of the rest I can only blame myself. I knew that the car wasn't 100% but still I was trying to push it. After the first crash I managed to wreck it another two times. Still picked up some spots racing to the end.

Sorry to Tim and everyone else who almost (?) crashed into my wreck at the chicane near the end of the race. Suspension and the rear wing were gone. I wanted to go straight to allow you to pass but the car went to the right and into the wall when I braked.

Got 8th in quali which meant the right side of the grid. For me a good place to be cos there is room on the right incase problems occur. Got a good start and safe throught the chicane. During my first stint I had some great close racing with Pablo, Heinz and Francesco. But they all had their share of problems which left me 5th at my first stop. After that it was all about not messing up and bringing the car home cos I had a safe margin to 6th and wasn't able to close in on Allen in 4th.

Grats to David on the win and to Tristan on winning the championship. For me .... I'm pleased and proud to finish a complete season in 5th overall without any damage or a DNF. Do hope to repeat that in S8. Enjoy the seasonbreak. :-)

Grats to Tristan on the Championship, and Vindex on yet another Team title!

My race didn't got very well. I was doing low 1m20's in prac for quali, and race pace was 21/22's .. Went into quali, and from the first lap i couldn't trust my car, it was acting so different from 1 session to another, the best i could manage was a slow pathetic 22 :( which had me start at 10.

When the lights went green, i made a few places due to the little incident darren talked about, and got tucked up behind pablo, the second chicane saw a little collision with pablo, and was just happy to come out with no damage, dont worry pablo, for a few times i had to fight with francesco, George and pablo, but would always loose it because my car was behaving badly, and was always looking for an excuse to kick out.. I was really happy to find after final pitstops that i would come home in 6th, and just brought it home for a good point finish, and getting back into the top 10 in drivers table!

Well lets start with Qual... Came out of the last corner, not even hot lapping, but setting up a hot lap, saw a car spinning by pit entrance. When i made my move to the inside he was on the other side of the track. But out of courtesy he was trying to get out of the way. But doing this i was on the inside trying to avoid it, he backed right into me flipping me like 3 times. I know he didn't mean it.
Then because of this i started last or second to last. Which made the rest of the day quite interesting. Stayed clean pretty much. Had a couple minor off track incidents. All in all very happy to finish 7th considering i started 18th. Glad to make the top 10 in points.

Big congrats to Tristan, as well as VindexWorks. You all did very well, and much deserved.

Thanks for having me in this series. This is my favorite. My first season and happy to take a top 10. Now i have some setups and can worry about tackling the tracks now.
