Race Pro GTC76

Second on the qualifying and then most of the race third. Was 20 seconds in front of Enis but then in laps 23 and 24 Hankinson, who was three laps behind, punted me 3 times!!!! And when that is not enough, there was Guillaume returning to track without looking left and right. Oh yes, he was one lap behind too.

Otherwise, I had a great race.

Qualifying:
Pieced a nice lap together, not as clean and fast as it could've been, but pole is always nice.

Race:
Race recap... Where to start.

Race started with me going bit wide, as a result of watching my back as Pantera is brutal under acceleration. Dropped back to 5th there, not good but not the end of the world certainly.

Later in lap 1, going into "Melbourne" I gained one place by overtaking certain driver who then decided he wasn't going to be overtaken and hit me twice in the back. Luckily I menage to save it and further more overtake the same person approaching next corner, "Goddards", and once more he wasn't going to allow to be overtaken hence he hit me once more in the back (yes, that's 3 times in space of 2 corners), which was this time enough to spin me around. Needles to say I was absolutely furious. Luckily chat during race is not allowed...

Lap one hasn't even finished yet and I was already 15th, that's a real joy.

Some laps later another person, while I was recovering back to the front of the field, decided to swerve into my path while I was already there. That was also pure joy.

In the end I got to a 4th, but it was as high as I would go, too many accidents not to fall way behind, until Gasper hit trouble and I got handed 3rd place.

I was seeing red mist.

Great race. Jumped in at quali, loaded a basic setup, and qualified for 4th. I actually went a whole second faster in the race than in quali...gotta love running the same tires all the time :p The start was awesome, mine was nothing special but the car was already sticking like glue in the first corner and I drove by everyone but Gasper. His pace was pretty fast, too fast for me on a 25 lap race, so I let him drive off and went only fast enough to stay ahead of Mike. As excpected, Gaspers car faded and Mike and I caught him and went by without much trouble. Mike and I swapped positions and had some awesome side by side and nose-to-tail racing the entire race. We settled in around lap 20, I was leading again going just fast enough to keep him behind me, when for no reason at all, I just lost it in McLean's (this was lap 23). Mike went by that thats where race ended for me. I lost it again in the chicane on the last lap, just a slow spin, pushing too hard. But very pleased with 2nd place, top Porsche, and only RSR on the lead lap :)

Huge congrats to Mike, awesome racing, and 'grats to Enis as well for rounding out the podium.

Jumped in straight after the GT-I race so wasn't really in the right frame of mind for this. Qualifying sucked, could have gone 2 seconds quicker but I'd only joined the server with 4 mins to go with no practice, so thats no suprise. Got a heck of a start and made it up to 5th or so but got run off the road at the old haripin, and I think I rejoined the track and took someone out. Really sorry about that, but it was all I could do to hold on at that point, I wasn't really thinking about where the car was going to re-enter the track, but I admit I should have been. I was just trying not to spin across the field and ended up causing that mess.

Anyway, I didn't feel right after that, and the car wasn't to my liking, so I ended up spinning and couldn't be bothered to continue. And thus ends a pretty poor day :-(

Quali
I expected a bit more from myself considering I was fast during practice. I was close to 1 second off my practice pace. Enis put down a ripper for the pole. It was the fastest lap I'd ever seen on this track ever.

Race
Going 4 wide in T1 wasn't what I was expecting, but the top 3 played it cool and we all made it through. I was afraid of Gasper getting away so I applied pressure to Tom early. We swapped positions twice early on, but he wouldn't crack under pressure. Once Gasper had his moment very sideways (nice catch Gasper), Tom and I were runnin for the hills. I was quicker downhill and he was killing me uphill. He was much faster in some corners. We swapped positions numerous times till lap 23 where suprisingly he had a lazy spin. From there, I throttled back and just brought her home. This had to be one of the finest races I'd ever been in. It would have been just that bit sweeter if Tom and I crossed the line together. Great battle Tom.

I'm sorry to see you had so many troubles Enis. You were certainly the class of the field today with regard to speed. When watching the replay, I was shocked to see the abuse you were taking in those 2 corners. I hope you have better luck next time.

Qualified 7th which I'm really happy with, but still trying to figure out how the guys at the front set the cars to be 3 seconds quicker (very impressive).

Race
With people falling off and squabbling upfront i managed to get up to 4th and took it easy for the 1st few laps, then got caught by one of the super quick capri's and fell back to 5th, which was a kick up the jacksi to get my foot down!! slowly was caught by yet another fast capri and fell back to 6th but stayed right on their tail and tried to fight back. Tried out braking then on the back straight locked the rear ans span which sent me back to 7th while trying to recover where i finished. Good finish but could of been better.

Qualified for 5th place. I was rather happy for result. At race in last corner i punted someone and he spinned. I was 5th i think so 4th place driver spinned. Anyway i got drive-through penalty. I was'nt turn that autopit thing away and it stopped for pit. I paniced and pressed ESC in selection menu and my race was there. Congrats to podium and sorry for guy who i punted in last corner in lap 1.

Sorry BG.....I guess I "punted" you...we were racing for position....and it was a good race......then going down into the old hairpin turn i was right behind him on same line and i just out braked him a bit...only takes a bit...but he slow a bit more than me and it looked like just a tap...but i don't know. sorry again dude.
