TC65 Monza

Well after the promising qualifying of 7th, I found my self last at T1. (Changed up way too early, and just crawled off the line.)

After that, the racng was great between Phil(Mini), Gasper(Jaguar), and Nickolay(Cortina), and myself(Mini). For the first 10 laps, we all shared the same few meters of tarmac, exchanging positions every lap.

Great fun, but it cost us all a huge amount of time against the drivers up ahead.

The second half of the race saw us trying to make up time. Phil ran wide at Parabolica, leaving me in P10, a couple more laps, and I could have had a good look at Borut in his Mustang, but sadly I ran out of laps.

Qualifying:
Wasn't good. Had low 1:05 without any problems, just wasn't concentrated enough. 2nd place is not bad though.

Race:
Race was good. At the end of first lap Scott took a liberal line through chicane and overtook me as a result. Stayed very close to him, was tiny bit faster in some corners, but difference was not enough to overtake, or get in a position to overtake.

wrong car here, for half race I had to undergo slower pace in slower parts, the only place i could stretch my legs was in the Junior chicane and sometimes under braking, but not so easily against Mike's Mk2.

That was great fun Ross. I realised our own private little battle was allowing the cars in front to get away from us, but I wasn't bothered because it was such good racing, some of the best I've seen. A couple of laps to go, a momentary lapse of concentration, and I was playing with the sand. Ah well, it was a great race.

Got home about 2 minutes after qual should have finished and figured I'd missed it. To my suprise I got in the server with 4 mins to go in qual, which was nice! I hadn't done a single lap in the car so I made a mad scramble for a setup, couldn't find one so just went out to set some sort of lap on the default setup. I was suprised how quickly I learned the car and managed a decent time for 6th.
I had another search around and found a GH Zolder setup so slapped that on for the race. Got a MEGA start, almost drew alongside Enis for the lead going into T1 but I decided not to push my luck and slotted in behind. Unfortunatley, by the time we reached Parabolica it had become obvious that my setup wasn't ideal... I was sitting on the rev limiter in top gear for about 200 metres at the end of both straights! Which made things challenging. The one good thing about that was that it was really good accelerating out of the chicane, which is how I passed Enis (not sure what you mean by "liberal line" Enis?). After that I was just quick enough to keep him at bay and take a suprising win :D

I'm very happy with my result in the Jag MkII limo. I drove my personal best in the car during qualifying and in the race. I flogged this thing for all its worth. I even threw out my fare in the back seat and all the kit in the boot.

I got a great launch at the start of the race and found myself positioned nicely on the inside of turn 1. I ruffed up R Massa a bit in turn 1 so I felt the gentlemenly thing to do was give a quick lift and let him by on back straight.

Lap 2 exiting the chicane, I got a great launch and got back by R Mass. I was shocked to find myself in 4th in the limo. R Mass was battling with a Mustang for a few laps allowing me to get a 2 second gap.

Over time, Roberto and Marius caught me and passed. There laptimes were simply quicker than mine and I could not overcome that.

Chris was coming on strong in the last 2 laps. He pulled along side (right) for chicane on last lap, but I had the line.

Yes Phil, I agree. When the racing is that good, it doesn't matter too much if you're fighting for P1, or P10. Great Fun. ;-)

I looked at my replay, I saw nothing wrong with my line. That's why I'm asking!

Scott, I will continue this through PM's. Oh and, as a disclaimer (for people who are reading this), I ain't pissed off at all (or something else), just described the situation as I saw it in my mirrors then later confirmed it by looking at a replay.
