GTC65 Dijon

Qualifying:
Decent pace. There wasn't much sense in going any faster, considering my tactics for the race.

Race:
Finised exactly where I wanted. :)

My computer changed IP two laps from the end!!!!! And I was second! Here goes the championship battle.

Congrats to Roberto. Too bad my computer froze 3 minutes before quali end, when I was comfortably on pole. Could have been very enjoyable race. :(

As usual in these 2 hit quickfire events, qualy was a bit of a rush, but I ended up 5th, and I was keen not to repeat the error off the line from the previous race. I ended up losing a couple of places, but was in touch with the front runners.

Then my gear shifter started playing up, with 'double gear changes' both 'up and down' for a couple of laps. Sorry to Enis and Chris, for my erratic driving at that time.

Fortunately the problem cleared itself, and I was able to close on Chris, and thought I'd be consolodating a P5, but with a couple of laps to go, there had clearly been an incident ahead of me, and I gained a couple more places.

My first R2P Podium, which is pleasing. I really enjoy GTL, I think it's hugely underrated. Thanks for putting the series on the calendar.

DQ in qualifying before I'd even started my engine! Any idea what causes that? Is there any way round it? I noticed I wasn't the only one. Thought I'd disconnect and rejoin, forgetting you can only join in practice. Should have waited and started from the back.

Another race with a car I'd never driven. This time though I had just enough time in practice to realise I was running out of revs (this time it I was on the limiter for about 15 seconds on the main straight!!!). Quickly fixed that for qual and went out just to learn the car, and qualified way back in 9th.
Got another awesome start and was something like 3rd by T1, going straight around the outside of all those little Elans. I simply couldn't hold the line through the twistys though, so one by one they got me back. Ended up having a great 10 lap battle with Bill, although I was frustrated that my car, which I chose for its power, was slower than the Elans on the straights! Yes, the same Elans that usually end up stuck on my Vette's windscreen :P
Eventually I made a mistake trying to hold Bill back and dropped off. Passed Enis at the end as his peculiar strategy became clear. Almost got Bill too after he spun but my rear tyres were wrecked by then so I couldn't keep up.

Great stuff yesterday. Scott Michaels and I had a doozy till his tires gave way and he spun(really hated to see ya' go!) So my concentration was not as keen as when chasin' Scott. I spun her twice but was able to maintain my place, but spun catching 5th.......o well, Great race! and Ross is right, GTL is a real gem to me to.

Nice race and congrats to podium. I had 5 rental credits so i got Renault. After one lap at qually i realized that i should have gone with Ferrari at same prize, because in this track you need speed. There was nothing to do with this car. I drove without errors with good pace but car was obviosly too slow for this track. At the end we had tight racing with Scott. Scott was way too fast on straights but in corners i cathced him. Nice racing Scott with great american muscle.
