Monterey Grand Prix

This should be in the newspapers. I practiced quite a bit for this race, but then around 1pm given that I could not go below the 1.06s I withdrew. Then, I was sitting on the couch, 2 minutes before the event started and said "well, let me qualy and worse come to worse, I will start at the back". Turns out my PC takes so long to boot, I actually missed qualy. Then I said to myself "no problem" start last, take it easy, I like the cars and the track". Nope. Someone spunt before the start, I could see the mess in the last turn, slowed down and still managed to get a small push from behind (I guess in the confusion I was no longer last) and ended up on the infamous curb. That's all she wrote. The curb was high enough to keep the car stuck there. Wheel spinning. Did not even take the green flag.
Also, sorry, in trying to hit neutral I hit the "hello I am out on track" button twice. grrrrrrrrrrr

I don't know what it is with me, I was running fast in practice should have been competing for a Top3 position and it all disappears in Qual. Race pace is no-where and I just seem to make mistake after mistake after idiot mistake.

I'm done with this series for this season, I'm just not yet good enough to get to a place where I can carry my practice pace all the way through the event and keep my concentration up for the whole race. Season 7 for me has been an utter disaster pretty much right-across the board.

I spectated the majority of this race. Sandman was all on his own pretty soon, though Stanislav was definitely right on him for some time until traffic got messy and then it turned into a 2nd place battle between Stan, Jeff and Aubrey. Pretty good battling for a ways, though some unfortunate incidents among traffic caused them to all get spread far enough out that the outcome was all but decided after the second pit.

Fun stuff to watch though and I can't wait to compete in this series when I can drive these things at some almost competitive speeds.

...Friking "Aero-Push"...I hate it...

Makes RACING almost immpossible, doesnt it? I dont care if it is realistic (and I doubt it is as severe as it is modeled), I say get rid of it and let us RACE, side by side, nose to tail. We could at least do that in V1.2. This is still one of the most fun mods out there though IMO.

Must say had a slow car first 4-5 laps but then it just got quicker and quicker. Well never got the chance to see where i'd end up. Must say first it was my fault, but damn what an insanely dissapointing DNF. I never even spun it, just got 2 wheels off. Hung up on the curb. Unreal!! Again my fault but man what a pisser. Same curb got me in qual. I knew about it but just over drove a bit and GAME OVER!! Grats to all who finished. Great win George.

Could only get in the mid 5's with all the practice I had, was way off setup somewhere obviously.

Race was ok, a few mistakes with one costing a 50 sec pitstop. Impossible to run nose to tail and race like Steve said.

Sorry to Scott Brunell for the lockup at the top of the corkscrew. Knew you were faster and wanted you to get around me as quick as possible so I went off line and it
didn't work.

I have requested a change of physics for this "Aero-Push" for next series...We will do more testing, because everytime we change something in the codes/commands something else gets screwed...At least I say that we will try to make this "A/P" work better to race side-by-side...

Anyone have any ideas?

Every car in every series will expect a push, I don't think we should screw with it, all we need to do is find a way to stop George and everything will sort itself properly. If i want an arcade game ill buy an xbox, I like the fact this game is closing in on the reality of Aero-push, but thats just me.
