Euro-Ring Challenge

Congratz to all the winners & survivors too!
Not the best track IMHO for high horsepower cars.
Fighting under-steer & over-steer the whole race & losing a few times. ;)

Sorry for the bump on lap 3 Antonio, still getting used to these cars. :(

Congrats too all that finished. This track reminded me of a short circuit kart track.. all chicanes and hairpins. Didn't really suit any car at all but it was on the schedule so it will be raced. I found pretty much that the front tires overheated on the howston pretty much after 2 laps so getting a good quali lap in was hard so a clear track was needed. Luckily i got out in front and got a quick lap in, after a pit stop i went all out for a lap bouncing it over the kerbs and got a 1.12.9 .

Race came and luckily i got a nice lead off the start, from then on it was just a case of staying on the track, i had a few offs and about lap 15 the fronts were in yellow and half worn and i was lapping around 3 seconds off my quali pace. I left it a few laps to try and edge a bit more of a gap, got around 30 seconds and pitted for only a new front set of tires. Luckily the pit's were small and speed limit was quite high, front's only took 6 secs to change and i went out and posted a mid 1.14 straight away which was 5 seconds quicker than my previous lap on wrecked fronts. It was worth pitting as in the end i was 50 seconds in the lead by the line although it was very oversteery for a change with new fronts and part worn rears. The only way to really get round Euro-ring was to get a wheel over the inside kerb to drag you round the corner...

I'm looking forward to Mid Ohio as its quicker and is very technical with some good elavation and will be able to let the cars spread out abit more. Cya at the next race :)

ugh internet/cable tv/phone went out for an hour. Screwed me out of a win!! Unbelievable.

First up I need to apologize to Antonio Torquemada for spining you on Lap 2. I'm soooooo sorry, I just didn't realise how much better the Little ZR is better on the brakes than the H6. Tried my best to avoid you but I locked up which just made things worse :(. Really sorry, I hate spinning people :(.

Got class pole and 3rd overall which was a surprise. Start wasn't great as all I got was wheelspin off the line which allowed Antonio to get by me, so down to 4th I went.

Nothing else changed on lap one, but as explained above Lap 2 was a nightmare. After I tagged Antonio I waited for the rest of the field to stream by before I rejoined, I could have rejoined sooner but I thought it was the thing to do. I wanted to make sure Antonio rejoined ahead of me.

After that it was just battling my way back up the field, and it was tough out there on this tight track :). By lap 7 I was fighting with Nickolay S for 3rd in class and 8th overall. Nickolay definatly didn't make it easy for me to pass and we had some real door to door racing. On lap 10 though I managed to get a run on him down the back straight has he got held up a little by a slower car. We were 3 abreast down the straight and I just managed to over take him before we got to the slow chicane.

By lap 15 I had managed to move up to 6th overall by re passing Antonio and also Tomasz K to move up to 2nd in class.

The next 10 laps I was pretty much on my own apart from a few lapped car. It meant I was able to turn some good laps though and by lap 24 I managed to catch and pass Ryan A for 5th place.

On lap 28 I had caught Andre S the ZR class leader. Unfortunately for him though he must have discoed down the straight cause his car just vanished :(.

After that it was just making sure I kept it on the track as their was no way I was going to improve any more on 3rd over all.

Grats to Sam and Jim and everyone who finished. Cya all at Mid Ohio :).

A great recovery from the dissapointments of yesterday Kieron. Wel done!!!

@Jim and Kieron don´t worry about those bumps, they are part of the race and there is no need to worry, but Kieron, we are running in diferent class, you didn´t have to wait for me even you push me, Now I know you are a gentleman, but please, as we are running "different race" don´t wait for me, that could ruin your fantastic race.

His (Kieron) bump into you Antonio ruined my race-after you go spun and were stopped sideways on track causing me to have to almost stop to avoid ending both our races i was hit from the back,removing my rear wing, which caused me to have to make a 38 second pit stop on lap 2. I was able to work my way back up from 10 in class (19th overall) to 3rd in class (6th overall). Could have been much better but that is racing i guess!

Yeah sorry about that Chris, I spotted that when I watched the replay :(.

I knew it caused a bit of a mess cause I heard it from in the car. That was another reason I waited till everyone past me before I rejoined.
