Mid Ohio Challenge

Jump in last miinute to a great race, the driving was excellent fo so many people, awesome stuff.
I did not qualify well at all with the "sled" - 17th.

I had no practice but I remembered the track quite well, so it took figuring out the corners a bit and then it came back to me. Setup was basically stock with 2-3 gear changes and soften the rear.
It was fun passing cars and working, and I do mean working my way to the front. I had some real good laps with Raul Pons, was concerned for a few, never drove on track with him before, but did an excellent job of keeping his composure and made it very challenging! Good Drive Raul.
Unfortunately after making it up to 8th or 9th and closing in on 1 more position I get my second ever Game Freeze....ahhhh

So I hope it did not cause anyone problems thereafter. I was really enjoying the event and for some reason, don't know why, but those cars make you drive smart to gain ground!

First of all, I want to apologize to pretty much the entire ZR field. I was prepared for some frame droppage on the start considering the number of cars. I wasn't prepared for the severity of the frame droppage! After the start it wasn't bad at all, but it was so bad on the start that even the sound stuttered, making me think I had stalled the engine. It never actually lost fire, but the result was the same :(

Sorry to those who got caught out by my Hammer-sized road block.

My race got ruined on lap 1...

I focused on race pace and tire wear. Both played out and I worked my way back to P2 but never got to have the great fight with Kieron that I know we would have had looking at lap times.

I didn't mind seeing my friend from lap 1 had completely burned up his fronts but I still almost wrecked getting back around his stubbornly wide car :-). It looks like a couple others had similar challenge.

Of course, none of this is as bad as what happened to Tristan. That was the top-of-podium suck right there. :-)

Tough race, great job by all the podiums! :)
Very hard to pass anybody with all the different lines & brake points, etc.

Only thing I was disappointed with was one driver, who was at least one lap down not giving me enough room to race with the car ahead of me.
Sure, you're on fresher tires, but c'mon, you're out of contention anyway...

Apart from that, it was fun trying to herd this under-steering pig around a bumpy course, hehe.

PS: Hope I didn't cost you the win Tristan, when I managed to spin right in front of you. If so, I'm deeply sorry. :(

I did a good qual and I started well, but Tristan started better than me and he overtook me, but he had a mistake in the second turn so I overtook him, and he overtook me again in the final turn of the first lap.

I was in the second position practically all laps. I was not pressed so I was relaxed so I did a good race. I didn't fight with anyone but the race wasn't boring because there were a lot of cars in all the track.

Finally I won because Tristan had a problem in the final lap, that was a pity.

Congratulations to all who finish in the podium, it was a great race :D

I really want to learn how to make a setup lol.

I came to server 1 hour before the race and started to tweak standard setup. But whatever i do i couldnt get decent laptimes + my tyres were burning like hell. Anyways qualy didnt go well and i dunno what position i got.

My start was good i overtook some ppl and got my way up to 19th. I got a 1.34 in 2nd or 3rd lap, then after my tyres got overheating my laptimes dropped like 2-3 secs. I think David is talking about me because i was the one whose tyres were burning. But thats racing its not easy to drive while u r fighting with overheating tyres, but my apologies if i did something dangerous on track.

Adding to that i never give up even i am slow, this never changed in 100+ races :). U shouldnt expect me to give my place easily even ur faster...

Anyways grats to podium guys :)

My race report is pretty much what Pablo already covered. Got a good start, miffed turn 2, then got back around Pablo braking into the final corner. I pulled a gap of maybe 8 seconds, then had my run-in with Jim's Hammer.

Oh well. It's racing. And on a computer, at that.

Not a bad race for me, at last minute i stuck with the rear wing as i'd practiced with it and started from pretty much the back. Had a nice start and first few laps overtaking.

A bit annoyed at the fact the lead cars chose to use no rear wing. As far as i was aware when we use GP1 cars you use all the GP1 upgrades, not taking wings off because it works better.. sure it still is a GP1 class car but it's not exactly sporting really..

I had a good race with Ryan Ansoon for the first half of the race. I was faster to start, but I mostly just maintained, while Ryan kept getting quicker. Lap 10 I think, I pushed a little wide in the carousel and had to let him by. Then we got separated by a group of GP1's coming up through the field. I had to be really careful as some didn't always choose the best passing spots.

Ryan got gone and Tommy Christian caught up as I struggled with a wild man in a GP1. Several laps of sheer terror, trying not to run over him as he slid out of control, or get run over as he made another charge. When I broke free from him, he must have given Tommy the same trouble as the gap went back to nearly 2 seconds.

At about 2/3 distance the natural understeer of the Hammer starting getting much more pronounced. I was braking earlier, turning in earlier, and sometimes still pushing wide in the turns. I held Tommy off for a few laps, but I finally pushed out in Madness and he got by. Ryan must have been fighting it too, as Tommy and I both gained on him the last couple of laps.

Great racing Ryan and Tommy. Even though I lost both of those battles, it's fun racing close with people you can trust.
