Laguna Seca Challenge

Well, this was fun. I realy hate the cars, they feel strange to me, but seeing the crowd i said to myself this could be fun! I wasnt wrong at all :P

Did only a lap in qual, and a perfect start, i gained like 10 possitions till the 3rd turn. Then a spinned car ment i had to go play in the send. Comeback was great, lots of fun and action, sry for contact Tolga, but i let you pass after that. ;) Had great fight with Simon and Andre van Staden. But both fights came to a strange ending. Andre and i were side by side in the leftbanking straight, i dont know if he did not see me there and turned into me, we both went flying lol. :) With Simon i just tried to brake into T1, but i think i surprised him lol, he used my car to brake and i went flying like a brick through T1.

Great series, lots of fun with so many cars and i will race more of this. Grats podiums.

Now that this series has really taken off, and it doesn't clash with GT-I anymore, I thought I'd give it a try. I've always gotten along well with the ZR so I wasn't too worried about starting qualifying with no practice. Had a bit of a messy session so ended up 2nd in ZR, 3 places behind Kieron who was on pole. Got a belter of a start while Kieron fluffed his, so we kind of swapped positions, I came out of T1 2 or 3 places ahead of him with Mike Miller pounding away at my door! After I pulled a gap on Kieron I let Mike through because I was worried he would end up punting me. From there on I made up positions on Hammers and H6s as they made mistakes and just kept my nose clean.

Fun race guys, I'll definatley be back for more :-)

Didn't get any clean lap in qually which was kinda frustrating. My racepace was over a second quicker than my qually, and that was with 80L of fuel :P. But I had a very good start of the line and had P1 in class before T1.

Halfway through the race my brakes and tyres were overheated and it got a bit sloppy. Went off at T1 twice and pace was gone after that.

I have to apologize to Chris Melton for pulling out right in front of him on the last turn before the front straight on lap 13. :(
It was a totally stupid thing to do & I hope it didn't screw you up too much.

I did a good qual, Sam was very fast and he won the pole position, but I started in second position and I could overtake him before the first turn.

Tristan overtook me in the lap 5, he was very fast and constant, Ivan overtook me too in lap 8. In the lap 10, I hit Tomasz Krol when I was going to overtake him, sorry, but I couldn't avoid the accident :(

In the lap 14, Ivan had an accident with some lapped cars, so I overtook him again. But in the next lap, in the first turn, Simon hit Tolga, and Tolga hit me, so I was 4th in that moment, but finally I could overtake Alfredo, so I finish 3rd.

I don't know what it was, but I just couldn't get close to my offline practice times. The track seemed to feel slicker, and I was very tentative for the whole race. Even so, things went reasonably well, till about mid-race, when a lapped car came out of the pits and decided to race with me. After a lap or so, he slid wide in Andretti hairpin and I went by. Very next corner he tried a divebomb as I turned in, hitting my right front. This caused Michael Bush to rearend me, causing a spin. (Not Mike's fault at all). I lost two positions in class and Tommy Christian caught up to my bumper. From there it was just hold on. I'm sure Tommy felt I was holding him up (I probably was), but I ran a pretty good line, and as always Tommy raced very clean, so he wasn't able to get by.

I did a bad qual, but I got a place in second line.

I overtook Tristan in the start but I did a mistake so he passed me a little later. Then I had a close fight with Sam and finally I passed him. Near lap 10, Pablo went wide so I could pass him going up the corkscrew.

On lap 14 I had a little trouble with an accident between a pair of lapped cars. I had to brake going out the last corner and Pablo passed me. A pair of laps later, Pablo had a contact with a lapped car and I was back in 2nd. The last 4 or 5 laps were really hard for me. My front tires worn out and Alfredo was attacking me. I had a good fight with him, but in the last lap we touched each other and he did a mistake on the next corner so Pablo passed him too.

Fantastic pace for Tristan, I couldn't follow him. Congratulations!

It was a funny race for me with some fights with Pablo, Alfredo, Sam and Tristan.

Fun racing with Charles and James for a while. I was out in front of them but I spun coming out of the hairpin on lap 5 or so ;p I don't think I would have finished higher but it would have been fun to chase the leaders of my class for a while.

Loaded my car up with fuel so it felt consistent the whole times. My set was great for tire management, but I couldn't do the laps the leaders were.

Laguna isn't one of my favorite tracks so I wasn't expecting to come away with much. Was happy with getting pole but with Scott only a couple of places behind I knew it was going to be tough.

Probably got my best start so far in the ZR (it was still crap though :D ) but Scott was more or less level with my rear by the time we crossed the S/F line, all be it with a car sandwiched between us. Got hung out to dry abit in T1 as I was on the outside and with Scott on the inside he easily got by me. 5 laps in I noticed a green ZR at the side of the track going slow up by the Corckscrew. It was the same skin as Scotts on my computer and I thought it was too soon to be getting into the slower cars so I thought it was Scott. Looked in my mirror the next time I crossed the line and Couldn't see the ZR any more so I then had a look at the race standings and I didn't see Scott's name so I figured he'd got bogged down by the string of cars behind.

So their I am cruising around the rest of the race just looking out for ZR's or any cars in a different class to let by in my mirror. I honestly thought I'd won when I crossed the line but then when I exited the car I found Scott's name quite a few places up the road. What a dumbass!!! (it turned out to be David Bischoff's car that I confused with Scott's).

Oh well still well happy with getting 2nd, amd I'm looking forward to the Next one at Trois. Cya there :).
