Oschersleben 330k (GT/nGT)

Well fellas - after a heavy crash into the wall my stupid pc did a nice power off reboot.

I'm only assuming it has something to do with heat, but if anyone has any suggestions as to how to look into this i'd appreciate it...it's really pissing me off now.

Tonight again i get another Lost connection, I have no viruses or spyware stuff pc is clean, Perplexed as to what is causing this 3 in 2 nights. Hope you all had fun.

This was my very first GTR2 race: never been to Oschersleben and never been in the Ferrari nGT...and it showed. I got punted in the warm up lap which was a bit annoying, not that it would have made a difference. I tried to stay out of the way of the faster cars, made a million errors, did wave hello to my friend Joe as he lapped me. I got to practice more with these things. It's an awesome sim. Great job to the winners.

For the most part, I had a very clean and good run. I did very rudely and offensivly cut George off in T1 and I am not sure but I think he had an off as result... I was much slower than my practice times, but I there I did not have to contend with 2-3 GT cars overtaking me every lap. They all seemed to do a very good job at that especially at this unforgiving track.

I am glad George finished well even after I accidently elected to force him to do a little lawn mowing...

Had a decent qual and snuck the pole in.

Got going and into T1 Jozef I think, went wide and caught the gravel. This left Krueger behind me battling with McClean I think. I was avle to get away from them for a while, maybe 12 laps or so. The I saw someone was catching me, figuring tires would be horrible late in the stint I was trying to be extra careful on them and didn't push the issue with Mark. I think I had a little off and gave him an easy pass. I was following him fairly close and well when he lost conn it was in the last corner before the backstraight and I hit his car square, spinning off track and losing the position to Krueger, but I managed to stay ahead of Josef.

Then the GT's are coming and Roman decides that since he flashed his lights he can go by me IN the chicane and procedes to run me right off track...thanks but I will remember that. So Jozef gets by me, and a few laps later I have an off of my own doing. So now my tires are toast, my top end is toast and I see that my fuel strategy is wrong so I pit early to get some fresh tires since all the contacts and spins have now ruined them.

I rejoin right in front of the leading GT cars :( and sure enough a red 550 decides to pass me into T4, runs me off the track (sigh again) well he pulls over and lets me by and I appreciate that but all it does is slow me again so he can get by. After a few laps I again have Josef catching me, he is much faster than I am at this point and I figure I'll let him by on the S/F straight. I guess he was surprised by my braking at the end of the backstraight and we contact and Bertrand gets by us both. Josef waited for me :) but I am sure if he know I was just going to let him by he wouldn't have, but that okay he did the sporting thing.

So 2 laps later Josef gets a run on me and I drive mostly off track so he can have a clean pass. Soon Josef is on Bertrand and makes the pass. And a few laps later I caught Bertrand but for what seems like 20 laps we battle. It was fun and frustrating, by now I have no thought of getting any further up the standings so I figure I will do what I can to rattle Bertrand. We both have some moments and it is a great battle. Later the GT's come through again and well Roman pulls another forced pass and all but runs Bertrand off the track. So I am enjoying this battle and slow up behind Bertrand so I don't pass him, not his fault that I would have gotten by, seem fair to me.

With about 3 laps to go Bertrand finally makes a little mistake and I get inside of him on the backstraight and pass into the next right. Seems he wanted the position still and challenged into the following left and the last I saw of him was him spinning off behind me. I didn't feel any contact and felt that I gave plenty of room so I kept going. Race ended a couple laps later with me in 3rd.

Grats to Krueger on your win and to most of the GT cars that were curtious to us nGT's.

Damn what a tiring race lol.

After Scott left, dunno what happened but sorry Scott, i though i could got the pole. But all ruined after i went out in mid chicane and went to gravel. I hit tyre barrier after gravel there and my front tyres had puncture. I tried to lead my car to track but it was too hard. Gravel caught me badly and punctured tyres looked like, they sticked there. I was trying hard to escape then BOOM, my engine died in 43 degree track.

I started in last position behind ngts. I could catch gts in 4 laps i think and started to gain positions. I was fast in these times and easily gaining positions. I think before 1/3 of the race i could catch George and Jeff was close to George who was the leader. After Jeff's mistake we 3 were too close to each other and i just kept the gap in 1 sec and tried not to make mistake. After pits all went well and i finished the race in 1st position.

Thanks ngt dudes for giving me clear chance to pass. I hope i didnt cause trouble while lapping.

Well it seems every track I am not too quick at it rewards me in some silly way :)
Qualy came and Scott was gone, I felt really good about a top 3 starting position, then i seen tolga in the playbox for a couple of laps in a row and my motec is showing P1, Wow, Its a gift i know but Ill take it:)
The formation lap starts and Scott N takes off like a mad man :) then the steward's posts "formation lap" :) It was pretty funny from my perspective. Race starts off well, I build up a 8 sec lead and then my first bobble, George gets by, i hound him the next 3/4 lap and regain first, stayed there to just about my first pit, take on stuff, get back out knock off more laps, Pit 2 went as planned, exit the pits and as I cross the start finish line George exits the pits, from there to the end about 40 minutes we were separated by 0.5, the killer was every time he bobbled i did which netted me zilch.
With 4 to go i got a run on George going into T13 I hit my marks & the apex as he came down on me, it was defensive but clean, we touched, the lite contact upset his car so i waited for him to regain position, We finished 0.6 apart after 2-hours of racing, What an exhausting race, it was a rush!
Grats to Tolga and Sam, Great racing by all the nGT's, I hope I displayed sportsmanship back at you.

An apology to the black car, not sure who it was but going into T11 me and George were nose to tail and you had given the line to only one of us and I was assuming you were giving both of us room when indeed you didn't, I pushed you off the track, sry.

Got 3rd in quali which soon became 2nd after both Jeff and Scott went wide in T1 in the first racelap. That brought me behind Jeff who was pulling away nicely. Started with med/med but that soon proved to be not the right choice cos my tyres didn't reach optimal temps. So I pitted a lap earlier as planned and went for soft/soft. Got ahead of Jeff but coming stop 2 he was closing in on me. When he reached my big backend I took my 2nd stop. Then the 3rd stint came. And like Jeff already wrote we were very close for the greater part if that stint. My compliments for your sportmanship Jeff ... waiting after that touch. My tires were gone at that point and I just had to take the corners a bit more carefull. Was very pleased to be able to keep 2nd place after some very intense racing. @ Tom .... that little spin didn't cost me too much. Those things just happen. @ Tolga .... congrats on the win. Nice work considering you started from the back of the grid. @ the ngt-drivers ... thanks for clear signals and for giving room to race. Cya next time.

The track felt really slick to me. I still haven't been able to set up the F550 the way I would like it to handle. I've got the tires dialed in with camber and pressure for almost even temps across the tires, but they don't feel like they have any grip. I had to go with full splitter and wing. I was just too far off the pace to be competitive. After just a dozen laps Jeff was 1/2 track ahead of me in 1st and Paul Stamper was 10 seconds ahead of me. It turned out that I couldn't even stay in front of the nGTs...good job Sam.

It was funny that almost half way through the race I kept passing Tom Rue then loosing it and then passing him again for 3 times then I guess he felt sorry for me and let me by. There was another tense moment when Tolga was going to lap me and I was just coming up on Francesco and John in t2 who were batting for 15th spot. There was just enough room for me to slip in on the inside...thankfully John held his line and we got by safely, but is was real close.

About half way through the race I lost it in t2 and found myself in the sand. I slowly made my way back onto the track, but what I didn't know was that 1/2 the field was behind me. I think I may have interfered with Tom Rue's line and made him slide into the grass...sorry guys, I should have taken more time and spun myself around so I could get a better look at what was coming before creeping back onto the track.

I hope Roman had fun lapping me...I didn't just pull over for him, but I kept the car as straight I as I could and he managed a pass on the next to last turn. I hope you had more fun that if I had just pulled over for you. The same with Tolga when he came around to lap me the second time.

I punted Don Hibner at the end of t1...sorry about that...I thought there was room on the inside...I should have followed you a bit more to see where your line was so I wouldn't interfere with it while I made my pass.

Near the end of the race I realized that Sam was in front of me with a 20 second lead. At one point I had that gap down to 8 seconds only to lose it...at one point he was almost 40 seconds in front of me. I just couldn't keep up the pace and finished behind an nGT...embarrassing for sure.

For the record I left because I just didnt feel like racing for 2 hours anymore.
