GTx: Nurburgring

Steady race for me, nowhere near to being on the pace. The last chicane cost me huge amounts of time every lap. Godd racing with Tom Rue at the back. We were very close for many laps. At the end, Barry was catching me, but fortunately the clock was in my favour. A couple more laps, and things would have got interesting.

That's was a fun race, very intense all race. I always had someone on my tail within striking distance so I had to keep pushing.

I'm pretty happy with 3rd considering I jumped into this race 10 mins before qual. I had no practice (just came in from the G2/G3 race) but I knew the track layout well. I loaded the easy to drive Lambo and my setup from Anderstop.

Got a good start from 7th to 3rd, looks like Donato had a problem with his start which bogged down the inside row and left that lane open.

Basically from start to end I was always under pressure but never really had the pace of the front runners. Got a pretty good pit stop, but Mark seemed to come from no where and came out in front after the pit cycled obviously with a much better strategy. So I was in 4th and doing my best to stay in 4th as front 3 were out of reach (4+ sec gap). Then it looks like Mark got into Tolga which put me in the 3rd spot and Tolga probably had the Red Mist.

With only a few laps left I was able to hang onto the spot.

Intense and fun.

Qual, big surprise. I did 52.2 when I tried a few qual laps earlier.

Race, guys ahead of me started slowly and I got boxed in. I tried to go inside but I got bumped down. Then I went to the middle and braked a little late but there was a gap for me to run wide. Eventually I settled in 6th.

Mark came past quite easily, and later Mario too, after almost nudging me under braking on two occasions, so probably a good result for me. I started doing better laps with Pete tailing me. With pitstops I gained a few positions and almost managed to challenge Rob as he exited pits. Near the end Kieron caught me and we had quite a battle to the flag. On the penultimate lap I accidentally downshifted on the approach to NGK chicane but just managed to stay ahead.

Congrats to Pablo, and very nice pace from Mark - and an interesting strategy.

What a great race that was :D .

Got an OK start but lost out to Rob who managed to get a better one. For The next 38 mins I was stuck to Robs rear, it was good fun. Managed to get my nose up the inside once but I wasn't close enough to make it stick.

We both pitted on the same lap, but I pissed about double checking the pitboard which cost me a couple of seconds. Exiting the pits the Vette of Ari went by and then as I was gaining speed Petes Vette got by too, Rob managed to rejoin in front of both of them.

So the next 15 mins was spent fighting with Pete which was great. I knew I was being held up a little, and if I wanted to re-catch Rob I needed to get past as soon as possable, but it's not as easy as that :).

After a while I managed to get a run down the start straight so That I could try and out brake Pete. I wasn't quite close enough though so He managed to hang on. The next time round though I got a better run and managed to go down the inside of T1. Pete cut back though and got better drive out of T1 so we where side by side in T2. I had the inside though so I was able to make the move stick.

With around ten mins to go I caught up to Ari's Vette, and again struggled to see where I would get by. With two laps to go I had a run up into the NGK chicane, we went in side by side but Ari had the racing line so was able to hold me off.

Really fun race all in all, I would have liked to have been up their with Rob fighting for 3rd but it wasn't to be. And it was great to see 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th separated by only 4 seconds at the end.

Another great GTX-event. The start was awesome. Donato didn't had a good start which influenced Ari's start too and I managed to slip through from 8th to 5th. After Mark had passed Ari he was behind me for several laps trying to find a way through. That finally happend when I made a small mistake on the straight before the Vedol-chicane. After Mark came Mario. He bumped me out of the Vedol and into 7th. Not too happy with that move cos it also gave me a cutting warning. During my stop I lost 2 places to Ari and Pete. After Kieron managed to pass Pete it was my turn to try but I never really got close enough to make him sweat. With Mario's DNF 8th was my share in the end. All in all a great race that once again showed that a little mistake is enough to lose a position. Says enough about the level of competition in this series. Grats to the guys who made it to the podium. Looks like there still is all to fight for in both driver- and teamchampionship.

Everything was quite calm and boring, except when Mark McClean was 49 seconds in front of me before its pits stop. Her strange (and good) strategy puts something of emotion until her stop.

I knew from the start of the week I was struggling for pace here and couldn't decide between the Lister and the Corvette. Never raced the Corvette before but it seemed quicker in race set up so I decided I had to try it. I just did my best, and marvelled at the pace Ari in particular was able to get out of his Vette.
Starting mid pack was intense but I managed to move past a couple of cars and get behind Pete in 10th. I tried to stay with him but soon came under pressure from behind and dropped away. Thanks to Donato for waiting after the small contact we had, that was a good fight we were having, I had quite a few and can't remember who they were all with but thanks for some great close racing.
My target at the start was to get into the top 10 and I just missed it by losing out to Borut at the end. I didn't change tyres and got ahead of him and he slowly caught me in the 2nd stint. I'm glad I didn't change tyres, I'd rather be ahead on the track, but Borut caught me with 2 laps to go and I couldn't compete with his car, so it was back to 11th for me, but I don't think I'd have done any better by changing tyres either.
