GTx: Valencia

Mistakes and offs helped me go up from 6th to 3rd in the first 10 laps. Then I had a lockup, just like yesterday, and outside of official races there have been no problems. This is really pissing me off.

Pretty good quali got me 10th on the grid, had a reasonable start and moved into 9th. Put in some decent laps but the heavy fuel load was costing me, but I was expecting that. Should have held on longer when Pete caught me up but I lost concentration slightly after just missing a static car and Pete and George went by when I caught a bit of gravel.
I got it back together after that and did good laps until my stop. The stop went perfectly and I jumped about 5 cars, moving up to 5th. I knew I'd have a fight on my hands before long though, and Pablo was the first to catch me. I held him off for a couple of laps but he was much quicker and soon made a good move to take 5th. Next it was Pete once again, I was clock-watching and thought I was doing ok, but Pete has caught me so many times now that he makes me nervous! I was getting slower and Pete kept coming, once he caught me I made even more little errors and Pete was able to pass fairly easily....again. FFS, I'll get you one of these days Pete ;-)
After that I just relaxed and drove steadily to the flag. Grats to the podium, commiserations to the disco'd.

How did everyone get this race done??? I couldn't see the server in the server listings in GTR2. Did you all connect via IP or was it actually listed?

Congrats to podium .. .that was some serious pace you boys set up front!

I could have done better in Q, managed a 28.3 in prac but only got a .7 in quali.

Start was bad, I touched GP into the braking of T2 and he went off, I had traffic all over me and was just being careful for the rest of Lap1 and lost a few places.

Took my Drive through for the punt, and was 24 seconds down on the field.

Drove like a banshee for the rest of the race, and managed to salvage an 8th. Which considering is pretty welcoming i think.

Along the way and had a run in with Ari's discoe'd car, and myself and 2 backmarkers all had a pileup at his car.. funny..

Then after pits, was catching Mark Mclean in his C5, and just when i was getting close enough to aappreciate the grunt and growl of that engine, into braking for T2, I just heard BANG and saw flames streaming out his car.. what a site!

I came from job at 6:00 pm and gto 170k race started at 6:45 with my time. I made some practice with bmw for that race and started gto. After gto finished i just jumped to the gtx race and took the 550. I made no lap before joining gtx and felt strange to drive faster class car after driving a m3. But as usual standard 550 setup was very good. I made some tweaks and got a 27.9 in practice in my 2nd lap which was surprising lol.

Heinz yep it was standard setup lol :P

Anyways; for race:

I lost no position with the race start and we were so close with Marko in first stint of the race. We were close and i was gaining from the 3rd guy, so gap was increasing. Then my tyres started wearing and seemed Marko wasnt suffering from that lol, and he could increase the gap to 9 secs till pits. I entered pits 1 lap earlier from him and after he made his pits we came side by side as in the picture and i overtook him. After that he started chasing me. Surely he was faster lol, but i was driving a bit defensive too. In 7th or 8th turn he bumped me from behind and i went to gravel. I recovered the car and continued to race then i saw Marko was slowing and he let me pass which i appreciate. Then 1 lap later at same place he gave me a touch again but this time i didnt lost control. But i was very nervous at that time and i took it wide in that turn one lap later to let him pass; otherwise we would both got wrecked. After i let him go he started to increase the gap and i was all alone till finish.

Grats Marko on blistering pace and drive. U said i was lagging so u couldnt avoid it and bumped me. No hard feelings but u were having me heart attack at that corner every time we enter lol.

My maybe best race ever when you look at good fights and close racing ended in tears when I put the car into the wall after the uphill chicane. Just clipped the curbs too much. Before that .... too much to mention maybe. A great dice with Christi through T2 and T3, then a fight with John, then with Pete and Mark .... I was really sweating like a pig because of all the excitement. Would really loved to finish it in style but it wasn't meant to be. Grats to the podiumfinishers.

Tolga, I was following you in qual and your car movement was quite warpy - in other words, you really were lagging.

If i caused problems to guys i met on track i say sorry each one of them, didnt know that i was lagging... :(

I could hardly drive the car, getting od slow downs and stutters the whole time, same with a previous race.

What a shame because Valencia is a very fun track.

Few words about this race :)

Jumped right after GTO_170km in to this one.
Really no practice with this car at this track.
Was happy to get a pole.
Race was ok mostly.It took time to get used to it , and didn't know how much fuel I needed in pits , so took a little longer to get few litters more(just in case)
After the pits my gap disappear , Tolga took the lead.
Few laps later ,when I was really close ,some lag came in and at the braking we had some contact.Sry Tolga I haven't seen that lag before the contact.
After that I waited and let him past me.
Later on , lag didn't disappear , and you car Tolga was moving about half the car ,forward and backward.
Don't know was it my ISP(which is very unreliable) , or yours ,but happily it finished fine.
Was a tough battle.
