USA FT-A: Putnam

These ugly little cars are fun to drive, even without a front wing! LoL

Ran the 15 laps with no front DF after T1 tangle with the wall, so lot's of understeer to make things exciting.

Clean race, made some mistakes then capatilized on others mistakes. wanted a podium but the pace was to much for me.

I will guess that it was Mark that I got in front of as I re-entered the track and caused both of us to DNF. I am very sorry, it was a dumb noobie thing to do. I am a dumb noobie (Race 2) and generally learn from my mistakes and so I'll try not to make this one twice.

I am off to basic HPDT tomorrow to pay penence. Hopefully I will return a better driver.

By the way Michael, I finally got on by copying the 1250 rfms over top of the 1255 rfms. Seemed several guys were having the same issue judging by all the mismatch errors.

I would have been so much better if I had spent all that time practicing instead of debugging my mismatch ;-)

Huge apology to Dan for punting him in T1. This was my first violation of the first-lap punt rule, and I hope it's my last because I felt like a real schmuck watching Dan spin off into the weeds.

I got a great jump on the start, found an open channel down the middle and picked up a bunch of spots on the opening straight. Then T1 came up, and between the lack of landmarks on this track and my excitement over the start, I completely blew the braking point. Swerved right to try to miss Dan (nearly hitting Gregg in the process) but still nicked him in the right rear. It was a classic open-server maneuver and I felt like a real tool heading around for my drive-thru.

After that I had plenty of time by myself to concentrate on the track, and finally broke into 1:54s and 1:53s which was significantly better than my practice and qual performance.

Had a good race. Just couldn't match the pace of Maciej. He ran a great race and was just hoping for him to make one mistake. But he didn't. Great win by him. All in all it was alot of fun. Big congrats to CT racing. We had a pretty good showing here i believe. Nice work guys.

That was a great race. First time in the open wheelers, and these things are perfect to learn on. I was much more comfortable making my start here than on the first track of this series. Had a great race, was pushing for a third place finish, but two big late race mistakes cost me, including a spin on lap 14. I haven't looked at the replay yet, but I'm pretty sure I might have clipped Gorder as I spun it around, so if I did hit you or messed you up at all, once again I'm sorry for that. Still somewhat on the rookie side, so I know I'll get it back again, but at least to know that I was near a podium finish for a lot of the race is pretty cool. Can't wait till Mid Ohio, that will be a great track.
