USA FT-A: Toban

Blew Qualifing............I had practiced for
and had fuel to do 2 stints, was going to pit at 6 min.
mark. Why was Qualifing only 10 minutes?
Drove hard for the first 5 laps and was up to 5th.
Faught hard with Chris for a few laps (sorry for the
pinch at the wall Chris) I made a minor mistake
exiting the esses before the down hill. I looked in my
mirror for Cris at my braking point and went off.
Back on between Chris and Michael K. Looked like a great battle between the 3 of us for 5th, then I collected a
lapped car when he spun.
Finished the last 5 laps with out a front wing.
Real fun, and clean!

Grats to the podium, especially CT drivers Mike Miller and Scott Berube. Great job guys, I thought many times about sticking my nose in under Scott for 3rd. If he wasn't my teammate.....

Well, definitely had a top 5 car for this race, but my own stupidity got in the way. Toni, I'm sorry about running into the back of you, twice actually. Just happened to be zigging when I should have zagged, and I was the one coming up on you so I should have driven it a lot better. The first time pretty much knocked me out, at least I didn't have any damage, but it dropped me back far enough that I was out, and then trying to get back up I spun it twice more just trying to get caught back up. Had a great time though, I love these cars, and I love this division.

I was pretty conservative at the start (and deservedly so after my performance last time), got through the first few turns clean in the middle of the pack, might have given up one or two spots. By the time everybody stretched out I was tailing Chris, where I spent pretty much the entire race- closing up a bit then losing some back as we marched up the field. I was trying to be careful with my tires, had trouble managing the temps in practice, and they were still in good shape near the end of the race, when I think Chris started sliding around a little bit. Unfortunately that's when my fuel warning came on- that freaked me out, I didn't hang in there all that time to run out of fuel on the last lap! So I short-shifted and lifted during shifts for the last 2 laps, and was surprised not to lose any time to Chris- if I'd had just a little more fuel I think we would have had a good joust for the finish.

Had a pretty clean race. Just couldn't catch Maciej and Mike. They ran a great pace and just a bit too quick for me. My tires really started fading with about 4 laps left. Tried to conserve but Bobby was pressing hard for a few laps there. But i knew if i just stayed at my race pace i'd be ok. After making room between he and i, i lost alot of space between the leaders. But just stayed steady and was glad to come up with a podium. Great race by all. Big congrats to CT racing for a great finish by all.

Sorry, Dennis, for causing you to lose your wing. I'm glad it wasn't worse. During the last few laps before my catastrophic ending, I was trying to drive while being distracted from my kids and, at the same time, arguing with my wife. I lost my cool and spun a few times, with the last one in front of you. I should have hit Escape and exited the race well before that. Better yet, I should have locked the door to my office at the start of the race.
