Virginia Shootout

I avoided all the wrecks in this one but continuously screwed myself out of a top 3 finish. Wasn't all too comfortable with the car even though it was with a new setup. Just didn't settle in fast enough, but it felt good on the long runs. Made a huge mistake when I punted Tom going into T3 about half way though. I waited for him and he got going again, but I have no idea why I did that, man...I try my best to be a clean driver so it pissed me off that I did that. Very sorry, Tom :(. After he got back going, I got to racing with him again. I felt like I had a faster car at the time but it was very hard to pass him because he had great acceleration out of the corners. With about 20 laps to go, I screwed up again when I slammed the car into 2nd gear and spun out while chasing Tom. Lost 3rd to Mike and spent the rest of the race trying to chase him down.

Had a very good setup, which actually got faster as the tires got hotter... weird.

At the start I gave Michael Lilley a little love nudge from behind as we all hammered it towards T1, but I backed off early because I didn't intend to send him into the wall! I'm sorry if that caught you off guard, Michael.

As the laps wore on, I settled into a great groove as I gave chase to Michael. The gap accordianed back and forth, sometimes I was right behind, other times I was a second back.

Somewhere midway through, I tangled with Barry's stricken Chevy while he was attempting to rejoin the track... just couldn't avoid it. I didn't see him starting to spin because his car was in my a-pillar blind spot. We basically connected at full speed. This punctured both front tires (it's tricky entering the pits when the steering wheel doesn't do anything!!), but after the pit crew worked their magic, my car was OK again and I went back out, setting some fast times of my own. Barry sent me a whisper of apology, which was really class of him.

Great work as always to the podium. Looking forward to the Monster Mile...

Second half of the race had a great battle with Jim, Very clean Jim and a whole lot of fun.

Car seemed pretty good, until I nailed Tristan after he tangled with Barry.
Decided I'd keep it on the track, even though it was pulling to the right a little bit.
Thought that Michael would pass me easy, but I guess his right front was gone also.
Glad to say he raced me clean & finally managed to squeeze down the inside for the pass. :)

Another wild and crazy martinsville! Had a great car for this one which didnt last long. The damage from L1,T1 made the car very loose on turn exit, so I lost that speed. T.B. thanks for the love LOL. Great battling with you for position. The rest of the race was just hanging on and avoiding the spins. Congrats to D.W., Tom and Conor. Spinning at Virginia and only losing 1 position is a remarkable feat. Conor wrote "I try my best to be a clean driver" YOU ARE A CLEAN DRIVER! And with your post shows that you are also a class act.
Once again a big THANK YOU to Dan White for helping with an incredible set. Another class act and a great driver. (For an old guy) LOL

That was alot of fun for a shootout!Conor and I went at it for ever it seemed till he had a spin.I will say that I thought for sure i was going to just Nail the wall at the entry to the pits when Conor punted me.I said to myself "Your all Done".But by some amazing luck i was able to pull out of the spin and bring it back up the track when At that Point Conor had slowed up to give a wait a see,and hit me again as i hit the ouside wall.I dont know how but i was able to keep going!Thank you again Conor for giving back the spot.Like Mike said You are a class act!!
Also I would like to say sry to chris Melton for giving him no room at one point in the race when i was lapping cars we,I made it 3 wide(not good to do here sry)and gave chris no where to go but up into my car and he came out the bad side of it hitting pit wall hard!Very Sorry for that.If it was not a shootout I would have never pushed the limit.
And also we should look at how Brian Snow handel his car for the sake of better racing!!At somepoint when he was being lapped by me and Conor he hit the outside wall and was heading back down the track.But It looks like he then puts himself hard back up into the wall so that he would not hit Conor.That I think is one of the most unselfish things Ive every seen in Sim racing!And I cant say that I would have done the same.Brian You are a better man then me!!Great job!!

Required Reading from Sponsor to all Entrants and Would-be Entrants:

This series is very close in the standings. The regulars have invested tons of time to prepare and put themselves in the best possible position to race clean, carefully, and finish. Beverly and Pause has invested its money into financing the series and wants to balance, on the one hand, the competitive nature of the series and, on the other, welcome new racers to grow the series.

To preserve the competitive level of the series and to grow it, all entrants are urged to adhere to the following guidelines:

1) No entrant should show up on race night and start hemming and hawing asking for setups. The series runs on an open setup basis. It is your obligation to prepare in the day or days before an event. Please ask for help and setups whenever you wish but when you ask for them on the night of the race, you have redflagged yourself as unprepared and potentially unsafe posing a stupid risk to your fellow entrants.

2) If you cannot prepare, dont enter the event. Wait for the next one and use the time to get ready for it.

3) If you enter the event and your car is damaged to an extent where it is unsafe, park it. Do not under any circumstances sit on the race way and hope to get her moving again when your car is obviously not race-able. In this situation, you are a threat to your fellow entrants.

4) These races are essentially sprint races and the regulars
are devastatingly fast. The races are quick. However, they will help you during the week. Ask questions in the prerace section of the event or get on the practice server in the week before the race even if only for a few minutes. Prepare yourself for races in which your head needs to be on a swivel.

Please note that these remarks are intended to keep the series at an elevated level and to help the new blood acclimate. The sponsor does not run in this series. Accordingly, these four points are not for the purpose of protecting someone's "baby". Take the steps to do what is necessary to prepare yourself. Otherwise, you show yourself as a selfish person and as someone who belongs on a public server.
