F3000 fun-run

What can I say. Race 07 rocks! Thanks to Mark Peeler for racing me clean, he was behind me for a good portion of the race and even though he was faster he showed a lot of patience, class, and skill. I hope I at least made it interesting for you.

Larry, you did a great job! I seemed to be a little quicker in the begining of the run, then it seemed you were faster through the middle of the run. At the end, well it's anyone's race at that point.. hehe.

This was my first openwheeler and i wasn't sure if would be able to keep it on the track the whole race. Then i found out we were gonna have to pit, which i've never done in Race07 yet either. It all worked out in the end.

Things seemed to be on my side for this race. I qualified 4th and immediately stormed to 2nd by T1. David Fish for some reason pulled into the pits and i capitalized on my first ever lead in R2P. I was excited with the thought that i could actually win my first league/event race since i started sim racing in 2006.

That was not to be however as an understeering mistake suddenly turned to oversteer and there was no where to go for Garry Hedrick as he was already committed to the turn. I caught the spin but immediately thereafter collided with Garry almost ending the race for both of us! Garry made it out ok and i careened into the wall hard losing my splitter. The car was undriveable after that as i lost a multitude of positions. Once i realized i could not even make turns in 3rd gear i decided to retire the car.

It was fun while it lasted... but i am very frustrated with giving up a possible win.

that was a fun race, I qualified way back but after 15lap in the first stint I made my way up to 3rd. I was running close in 3rd and decided to pit early to try and make up a spot but after I did my refuel I had a stop and go, and then on the lap around to do it I spun in turn 1. that knocked me back to last. i fought my way up to 8th from there and then shortly after taking 8th on the final lap I spun and again and went back to 10th. It was still alot of fun and I was able to turn fastest lap in the race. After my spin I must have damaged something cause I couldnt get below a mid 26 in the 2nd half of the race.

My goal was to finish, not crash myself out and hopefully get top 5 since I expected a few DNF's. But thanks to all the destruction I came out almost on top.

First half was fun, struggling to go full speed and only having a 3-4 second lead the entire first half. Moved up from 5-3 thanks to DNFers. My pit stop was great and I came out on top just ahead of GH. But he was faster and I made a couple nerd moves after he got past so I fell back. Then just hung on till the finish, trying to stay fast!

My first pit stop in this game as well. I assigned the "pit request" button just before the start and I used it... is this necessary or can you just slow and pit without a request? The automatic pits are ok because they are fool proof and there's no chance of accidentaly exiting or other problems. But part of the fun in the other games is to navigate that menu quickly and precisely! Automatic is ok though, it is all about braking late for the pit line and then the actual racing itself.

Well that sucked, I qualified third but messed up the start. While we were waiting on the grid I had my quick chat box up and pressed esc thinking it would just disappear. I then got sent to the garage and wasn't allowed to go back :( Think that was the highest I ever qualified too.
