F1 '05 fun-run

Thanks M Bush. He figured out why the fuel was not given back at the end of qual; I had the server set to use the standard "SE" rFM, not the custom "R2P F1" rFM. Duh!

I have to remember to only use 6 gears next time I race here. Going all the way from 7th to 2nd in those two corners was giving me pains! Goog racing with Stanislav and Jeffery.

I think the tire wear is about right. I went with a one-stopper on mediums, but the wear on my first set was getting pretty bad. Probably would have used a two-stopper in a full-length GP. And I was a die-hard one-stopper last season.

A point that I did not make in pre-race was that this race was actually only 2/3 race distance. Full distance would have been 70 laps.

Sorry that I had the wrong settings on the server and we cold not check out the fuel settings properly. Tire changes went well though?

Tire wear worked pretty well for me. I normally ran softs no matter what last season, but they wore down very quickly at this event, prompting me to 2-stop instead of 1-stop. Even then, my right-rear went flat from wear on the very last lap (Jimmy Jones could probably tell!)

This was a fun race and I had some great battling with Bob Fay. Aubrey, his consistent self as ever, wiped the floor with us. Well done!!

This is the last time I'm doing this mod, the brakes are way too bugged.
After 24 laps mt 2,8 brakes were broken. That would mean I'd need brakes of 6cm to survive :O.
Was having a cracking race and was very gentle on the brakes, but still no luck.

I can't wrap my head around these cars!

Oh well, I finished and avoided a DNF, which was great considering how much my setup sucked. I'm saving this setup as a "what not to use ever again" reference :).

Sorry I couldn't hang and test anything out. For some reason my rear end was very loose after I got some front suspension damage and had to park it.

Another DNF for me. :( Not my fault this time. One program decided to download the updates and I got the desktop during the race. I killed the engine in the gravel as a result. Hope no one heard me when I was cursing big time. :)
Sorry to Bob for that close call in the last corner. I was going to pull over and there was only one car in my left mirror, but I forgot to check the right mirror.

I asked Tim over TS about the new parc-ferme rules, and I with my half-baked melon came away with the deal that what ever fuel you use in qual is gone from your tank until your 1st pit stop in the race. That obviously worked out in my favor as the total opposite was supposed to have been happening, with the tank getting topped off after qual, but the server was set wrong?? I'm still confused.... Either way I had way too much fuel because my math skills just suck. I need a calculator. And the whole week before I talked to Tim before the race, I was practicing for this event with the notion the new parc-ferme rules allowed any amount of fuel to be added after qual, dont know where I got that from. Just confused...

Anyway, had a great time. Too many spins, over-cooked turns and too much fuel killed my race. I was really a 5th or 6th place car at best. I was surprised to come out of the pits after my 2nd stop in 2nd place. Just cruised from there since Aubrey had a full lap on me and I had about 15 secs over Tristan. One thing is for sure, A G25 IS MUCH BETTER THAN A MOMO.
