TPSCC fun-run

Congrats to Mike. Great job and solid win.
Good work by the field and the finishers.

Qualified 5th which is my highest ever in any race but hugely disappointed by the outcome. At the first caution, another car was in my box and while I waited for it to clear, I guess I got busted for something. Came out 8th, which was not an issue, but for some reason the game moved me back to 15th. The middle of the field did a good job but seemed to get a little desperate from time to time to make up positions quickly leading to some accidents in which I was collected. Got back to 9th w/ 10 to go and got collected again. There was also some passing under yellow which is a no no during the regular season. Kinda bummed in that I had a pretty solid top 5 car. Oh well, I arrived at a pretty good setup for the next one.

Good race for the field; Indy makes for a cool race. Good job guys in a relatively crowded field.

An thanks goes out to Joe for trying to push me around so I would an avoid a DNF. Probably would have got around until someone came flying off turn 2 and plowed into us. It was actually pretty funny, since it was just a fun run, I'm not too worried bout it.

As for the race, it went well. Stayed up front most of the race, but I decided to make a late race pit stop when I was in 4th and ended up in 12th for the final restart. I made it back to 6th with a few laps to go, but in trying to get around Jimmy Jones for 5th, I tried to sneak my nose where it didn't belong and wrecked myself, along with a few others. I believe Tom Middleton got a DNF because of that, my apologies.

David, I did not look at the replay but I sure hope I didn't cause that. I saw you go around and it felt like we made contact right before it happened. I also came down on Richard and caused him to get a little sideways, certainly not on purpose. I try not to drive that way for fun runs, only the real races :)

It was fun but I probably should have stayed out of this one. I had zero time to prepare and got lucky that there was a decent setup available.

I qualified 10th after a practice session which saw me swapping backward and forward through several setups trying to find the reason why I had inexplicably lost all the pace I had early in the week. (Went from pushing into the high 50's to 51.2's over the course of the week god knows where I went wrong) so I went into Qual knowing that mid pack was my best bet.

The Race started with what some described as "being the cream in an orio" with many drivers being caught out by how difficult it is to get these cars running (I always do a full throttle start and use the clutch pedal to control wheelspin) unfortunately... all the cars ahead suddenly slowed (as they always do) and the inevitable accordian effect ensued. Despite someone's bitching over team speak ;-) the damage was negligable.

Got upto 8th in the jockeying that was happening up until the second caution caused by a spin on the front stretch. I left it until the very last moment to come onto pit lane with the other cars and nearly slammed head-on into the wall! Fortunately after that, I had a great stop and managed to make up a couple of places overall.

There was a scary moment on lap 22 when I nearly went right up Brian Snow's ass when he slowed mid corner to let me through. So three laps later and I'm somehow sitting in 4th and the pace car comes out. I pit for the second time and come out in 3rd!

When Mike Arn and David Fridley got together on yet another re-start (easily the 6th or 7th) I was up to 2nd spot! Unbelievable, I could challenge for the win!

Unfortunately, Michael was too quick to catch and despite the fact that I got close to his rear a couple of times, I could never catch enough of a draft to get by. In the end I didn't have the pace to keep Jeremy behind me either so when he made a great move into T1 I didn't want to squeeze him to much and let him go after Michael. I figured pushing too hard here would probably put me in the wall.

Much better stock car race for me :)

Yep, I was the dumb shit in Joe's pitbox. I had the bright idea of trying this race with a clutch for the very 1st time. Everything was great, I moved on up to 2nd beind Mike. The caution came out. The last second I ask Mike over TS if he was going to pit. He says "yes" and dives in, and I crank hard on the wheel to follow him in. Once I got to my pitbox, I cranked the wheel hard again to squeeze in and a speaker tumbles off of my desk making me jump a mile. Thinking that I'm in my pitstall with the car now stalled because it's still in gear I bend down to grab the speaker, but at the same time I don't hear any work going on on my car. Next thing I hear is Joe saying "your're in my pit!" I look in my rearview and yep, it's me! So I start the car, go to grab 1st and stalled it. I said before the race that if I fucked up, I'd esc, so I did. That's what I get for no practice. Sorry Joe, hope I didn't screw you that hard.

Wow, I can't even begin to tell you how much fun that was. Some notes from my end. This was my first ever stock car race online, and to claim the pole was unbelevable. Have to thank Greg Carrier for starting me off with a good setup, only needed a few tweeks, so that helped a lot. I've never even started from the top half of the field, let alone a rolling start, so that was a little nerve racking, then got to do it again after the caution on the first lap. I had a great race set up, but evidently my 4th gear was too tall, so my speed on the straight was horrible. On lap 31, when we restarted, I am the one that spun the tires and hit the wall, bringing out a caution, so that is my fault. Then towards the end, about 47 or so, after another restart, I was behind someone, who ever was racing between the two RainX cars, and hit the back end of your car going into T1, that caused you to end up spinning into the other RainX car. I take full blame for that one. not sure what happened on the last lap, but somehow I drove through that and took a 6th. This was a fun race, and it was great. Perfect way to start off the stock car season coming up. Can't wait to do it again, some new knowledge gained so I'm ready for more.

Great win for Mike I did not understand the start Qual 9th but started 15th??? The car was not bad for about the first half of race but keep getting loose as race went on caused couple of spins. Great to lead a lap on restart with about 14 laps to go something broke in front end sup.causeing me to spin sorry hopeing to go green rest of race. Get ready for next race.Later

Hey Jimmy, its my fault completely. You were just driving your line, you didn't block me or anything. I thought I could just squeeze under you to get beside you down the back straight, but by the time I got to you, there was no room. I should have just backed off, but heck its the final lap!

Had a very good car, but a disappointing finish - bitten by the "driving too slow" farce when a couple of cars in front of me hit pit road and I didn't immediately zoom forwards to latch onto the next car in line...what were the bozos at ISI thinking when they coded that algorithm? Took time wading through the early cautions, only to get caught up in someone's spin that didn't bring the yellow out...got 6 or 7 spots back under the green, and was anxious to have GF stops, but no. Back up to top 5, just riding for the end. Stopped when fuel window to end just barely opened, thinking that everybody was done with their cases of yellow fever...nope, so that strategy gone. Still looking good with about 15 to go, but that's when the DTS penalty shows up. Never got enough green flag laps to really know the car, but it seems to have a bullet or two left for later...

Disappointing to have this many yellows...this should be a track with very few flags.

@Richard Jordan, unfortunately for me and more fortunate for you, I was the one you plowed into sending me from 6th to 18th , taking blame is ok and accepted, but having patience will work out better in the next events.
