TPSCB fun-run

Been on the server for a bit practicing, and then wham, internet went out and didn't return. Bah! Hope you all are having a good race without me. Go Team DBF!

Wasn't feeling well this week, already pulled out of one race and really didn't want to miss this one completely. The goal was the qualify and run for at least a quarter of the race, but after 10 laps I was done and had to park it, though ended up spinning it trying to get to pit road. Looking forward to the shootout coming up.

That was a lot of fun! First off - congrats to Andrew. Well-managed and well-run race. Did the things you need to do in order to put yourself into position to win.

My car was a lot better than the driver in this one. Was very good on longer runs, just a tick loose on newer tires. Lost count of the number of times I started in the back, but was able to work back up each time...went completely brain dead at least twice and put myself in the hole by first hitting pit road while it was still closed, then letting the fool thing run out of gas. Very lucky to still be in contention late. Got a good run up high off T4 on the last lap to make it close - thanks Andrew for giving me room up there.

Were a few more cautions than I expected, but I think most were instances of folks still acclimating to TPSCC and stock car racing in general. Seemed to be some contact-related spins that perhaps should not have happened...we need to be sure and respect other cars and drivers enough to avoid careless contact, and realize that these are long races - learn to give much more than you take, learn to anticipate that others may have different lines and braking points, and learn to stay off the cars around us by avoiding outright blocking.

All in all, a good first event. No mismatches and the like. Lookin forward to the rest of the series.

Thanks heavens this was a fun run. Race started out relatively well given my overwhelming weakness on the short tracks, especially one which the road racers call a road course. Worked up to 8th (surprised I stayed on the lead lap as long as I did) and then things got a little messy. Just to echo what Mr. Carrier said, a little patience goes along way and if your car is a little slow at some points, dont overdrive going into the corner if you select the low line. When your tires are cooked, you are going to slide up and blast out the car next to you. Just something to keep in mind going forward.

Congrats to Andy on his win. I also want to congratulate Mr. Mark Martin on an amazing display of skill and "stratergery" for getting home in 2nd. Good job overall by the field.

That was really fun guys, and I really enjoyed it. I think this is going to be a fun series. Overall I felt that the racing last night was both clean and competitive. I know I certainly made a couple of mistakes, namely causing the caution on around lap 45 or so, when I tried to put my car in a place I shouldnt have - D'OH! At any rate, apologies for that. As far as my race, I felt that I had a car that was capable of winning, and certainly in the top 5, but I just made too many errors to be able to see it pan out. But it served as a great first test, and for me this was my first time to run TPSCC here at Race2play. You definitely have to pay attention a lot. I look forward to running with you all some more, and the TALLADEGA race should be a ball! :)

Another race that was fun. Congrats to Andrew on the win. Your a good clean driver and look forward to racing with you during the season. I had a great car that lasted the entire fuel run with good speed. Kept the FR tire at 250-255. Made a pit stop with 15 to go hoping for a green flag run to the checkered. Not to be.
And to echo what Greg Carrier stated, new members need to be familiar with the rules here @R2P. Especially the BLOCKING rule. There is a difference between racing for position and blocking. If you havent read the rules please do so.

I had a whole lot of fun in this one. My car was awesome and got more awesomer the longer the race stayed green. At one point during a caution and right before the restart, I guess my headset volume control caught in the wrinkle of my shirt and when I moved the volume shot up to max scaring the hell out of me and hurting my ears. So I`m freaking out trying to reach for the volume control when the race goes green. I reach for a gear but found neutral instead. I reach again for a gear and found reverse of all things! Luckily I got the clutch depressed before it swapped ends on me. Needless to say I dropped straight to the back with that one. My car was good though and it wanted to run towards the front and that`s what it did. I know a setup guru and he makes me go fast.

Thanks to one in all. That was one of the cleanest sim races I've been apart of... at least where I was in the field. Looking forward to entering more of these Busch races this season.

I had some good battles in the early portion of the race, but being the new guy, I tried not to race all that hard and save my tires.

I have no idea how I got the lead there at the end. I can't even remember, but it turned out to be the track position I needed. The last caution was also a huge help. I overdrove the car big time on the three lap shootout and am shocked that I didn't put it in the fence. I thought Greg had me at the line. He got a moster run on the outside and was pulling up on me like he had 1000 horse power in that thing.

I have to throw out an appology for messing up that restart around half-way. I thought I got lapped after making the green flag stop and it showed me one lap down to David in my HUD. Then mass confussion set in and everyone got drive thru's. Again, a sincere appology.

Interestingly enough, the only race I've ever won in my normal league, SIMCAR (which has just started it's 2008 season... shamless plug) was at Pheonix in my like 120th start there.

Very fun race in very fun cars. Also have to add it was a very well run race by the admins. Never seen an rFactor oval race go off so smooth.
