nice battle with Peter, then I made my second mistake, I rejoin the track and someone spun in front of me stopping exactly on the racing line, fast turns before main stright, so ....
very frustrating, i'm so disappointed that i think to end this champ now

I figured out what happened to the timing. It didn't count my 65th lap after I slid off exiting T2. I must have missed some kind of checkpoint there. Bummer.

Roberto, that was me.

All i can say is i'm really very sorry to have ruined your race.

I'd also like to appologize to all around me for being unusually sloppy on the first lap. My brakes locked in the first 2 turns, something i wasn't expecting at all, and then failed to slow me to the degree i was expecting a couple turns later.

After going off on lap 1 to avoid a punt (although i did have contact -- sorry to whoever that was), it was a good thing that i seemed to run the next 30 or 40 laps all alone, building a gap behind to the same degree i was being left behind.

And i was error free.

But when the leaders started coming thru, the mirrors really began to screw me up. It looked like they were jumping from side to side and it was very hard to stay predictable when you think someones going around you on one side, only to have them suddenly on the other side.

I think i just got a bit too distracted by this and failed to refocus myself.

Not a good race for me.

You can call this a race. At first I didn't care about fuel consumption 'cause I filled it up before race start, then at 9 laps to finish I realized that my fuel meter says "fuel for another 6 laps". So as I had about 40 secs. advantage on my follower, I decided to really slow down, until I realised that I had been lapped twice, so I could make to the checkered flag with that fuel at (my) top speed. But my tires were a bit cold, went wide and almost got caught. Finally, I kept my position till the finish line.

Bad race for me. I've put quite a lot of time and effort to prepare well, and was doing low 1:11 offline, but when I got on-line I just couldn't go below 1:13.5. I don't know what it is but it sucks :(
Anyway I tried too hard to get to my offline pace, hit the wall as a result, damaged the car, got pissed off and quit ;)
Maybe more luck next time.

Disconnected while in P9 early on in the race. (Really frustrating, I'll have to treat it as a 'Engine Failure' I guess)

Setup felt predictable, so a points finish could have been on the cards.

On to Longbeach

after checking the replay. I need to be moved back to
4th place. Aubrey is right about his lap not being counted.
If anyone need to look at what happened it was laps 64 and 65.

Had my chance to press Aubrey around lap 55, but made a mistake.

Roberto: No,please don't quit. It's just one of those things that happen. Don't thow in the towel. We need someone to keep Peter busy at the front and you two had some great battles.

Aubrey: I verify that something strange happened when u crashed in T2 lap 65. I'll ask Tim to correct the results and move you to 3rd.

Not much happening in this race for me. I was not able to catch up with the fast guys up front and I was beginning to accept 4th place. Then suddenly within few laps Emilio was gone and Roberto had crashed and I was in 2nd :-)

However,not fast enough to reel Peter in,but still fast enough to keep the gap constant.

I got into a good rhythm early on and was able to drive constantly without mistakes.But I was a bit down on pace until fuel was down to 50L and then suddenly I could do fast laps which I previously had been doing in practice with 100L. Oh well :-)

Grats to all finishers and see you at Long Beach. It's going to be tuff !!!
