GP'79: Silverstone

LOL,that was quick. For some strange reason I always have hyper sensitive throttle when I start a game. But it's usually over when I am in the race session. Not this time though.

Wasn't able to control it,hit the limiter going off the line. Spun. Crashed into the wall and lost a wheel. A full 10m race for me :-)

Well, I need to look at the positive things,and at least I can get out of this POS McLaren for the next race :-)

Guys it's 68 laps not 20!

lack of concentration put me out at 11 laps to go, i hit inside wall in the pit straight just after the blody chicane.
I was running 5th with the Arrows A1 :(( damn!!!!!!

PS after lap 2 i was with broken front right suspension, so race started bad and finished worse. I hate this car!

Short one from me too :)

Managed solid 4th on qual. with hungry Alfa, but start was a bad one, lost a few places.
And then in 2nd or 3rd lap I had difficulty going through the chicane enough to someone hit me from back and my steering was bended, huuh not again like in Zolder :(.
I try to fix it in box but no hope.
Definitely these cars are fragile specially from back hits, front end are much flexible, though.

What a bad race :(

I wasn't fast, but I manage to be 3rd in first laps, faster drivers passed me and I was 5th. I was in this position a lot of time. I did a mistake so three cars overtook me, but I was able to was close to them, but when I had to overtake two lapped cars I did a big mistake and I broke my suspension, I went to pit to repair, but I forgot turning off my engine so it blew when I was going to leave pit.

That was a pity, I think I was able to finish 5th, maybe next time, see you at Hockenheim :)

Race was hectic, the Ferrari infront of me thought T1 was right after the start and turned right into the wall :D.
Later Massa locked up and ran into my side, forcing me wide. So then Peter and Grnats...something :D overtook me and I was in 5th.
Had a pretty good pace and it wasn't long till I was in 2nd (after something happened to the nr2).

Was there most of the race, and halfway down the race I was ahead of my fuelstrategy and I was gonna make the full 68 laps.
But as the race progressed the car started using more and more fuel, and I had to drive around in 5th gear the whole time for the last 5 laps :(.
Lost 2nd place and I needed to be lapped twice to make it. So Chris lapped me for the 2nd time and I crossed the finish, still in 3rd, and the after T1 I ran out of fuel :(.

I didn't rev a lot during the whole race and still I didn't make the full distance. I need to check that for the next race and not just join and test :P.

The ATS survived!
Almost uneventful. Three incidents that tried to end my race, lol.

One was very early when someone lost control ahead of me and we clashed and I dropped back a heap of positions from my great start that had shot me to 5th or so.

Then a long chase with Roberto, so close in lap times it was tough to find any way past. But I got a run and pulled alonside him, but then he swung out wide for that next turn and shunted me off track into a spin, but luckily I just survived! Losing a bunch of spots again, doh!

Later chasing Thomas and Roberto again (MUCH later after regaining the lost ground) I got a run out of a turn but Thomas moved more across - totally fine for him to do at that stage, and I bumped him into a spin!
With a number of cars close behind I decided to keep going and work out how to let him get the position back once I saw how things unfolded.
The main problem was that he had KevinB right on his rear wing, so if I let Thomas catch up then Kevin would too! So I had to wait for him to get ahead of Kevin and then with about 5 laps to go I rolled off the pace to let him catch and cruise by.
Then I resumed chasing for position! But could not close him down to even have any chanec to challenge for 5th then!
Fair enough and a good finish for the ATS anyway!

That was fun, till my engine blew just 5 laps before the end..

The Renault is just brutal on this track. So got pole quite easily. Got a lot of wheelspin at the start, so Chris got at T1 first. Just followed him closely for the next 15 laps or so. Cranking the boost up some times, driving on his tail to make him nervous. :P

Didn't know what happened to Chris, but was driving 1st at some point. With Chris just behind me. Had some trouble with passing some backmarkers, which eventually led to a spin. I actually lost 10 seconds cause of that, but the laptimer showed I lost a complete lap! Very strange, was running p8 now. Could make my way up to p2 again, thill my engine blew up with just 5 laps remaining. Checked my temps the entire race, and was running low boost at the time. It seems you have to lift during shifting with these cars(?). It was still a great race though! I hope to do some more!

Ps. I Think I was the one who hit you Milan, I'm sorry! I thought you would go back to the racing line, so I could pass you on the right. But you also went right, I'm sorry. The speed difference was quite big, and I made the wrong decision.

I ruined my race when trying to overtake Aubrey in lap 2 or 3, right before the chicane. I was gathering speed through the straight and went to the open space at left side to take the fast line, but he did a wise move to close the line and I had to brake hard, touched the grass and spun to the opposite side of the track, damaging my suspension (really fragile cars indeed).

I didn't want to pit 'cause I thought it couldn't be fixed, but after two laps with a turned steering wheel I decided to give it a try and pitted. Luckily the crew could fix quite of it so the car was a bit more under control.

I had to pit once more just 'cause I looked back to see how far it was the car about to lap me and missed my brakepoint, so I was out at the back twice and had to catch up from there (16th) till a nice 9th at the end of the race.

That was hardest 3 points I have ever earned. Had drive my butt off to get back near where I was before I spun in T3. Really injoyed this one. There was a lot of good racing today.
