FBMW @ Jiading

I managed to keep 3rd place for most of the race. I think it was Jones in 4th behind me and early in the race he tried several times to pass me, but just couldn't pull it off...it's not usual that I'm not required to slow down, so this is actually the first time I've been able to race someone that has pulled in behind me. I wish I could watch a replay to verify that I was leaving him enough room, but I think his problem was that I was holding the best race line and there's very few places that a car can get decent speed off that line to make a pass.

Well, with 2 laps to go Jones must have decided to make his move...he got up beside me in turn 1 and got around me in turn 2, but I thought I could come back inside and just gave it too much gas too soon and spun with slight damage to my front wing. Gregg and Fish were right behind him, so I couldn't immediately pull away and I was facing the wrong way. Fell from a podium to 6th in one fatal flaw. But, it was fun!

I actually like this track and hope I see it again.

Well I never really got to grips with this track, just couldn't find a decent setup that suited my driving. In the end I paid the price, 20-lap race with quite an unstable setup was never going to go well and I had a couple of spins as a result. Nonetheless, the opening laps were fun. Looking forward to some more FB races in future.

Steve you were fine, there were several places on the track I could have forced the issue and passed you but I wanted to be safe. I made a mistake getting off the racing surface and turned myself around at one point (totally my fault, not yours at all) and just settled in and worked my way back up.

Fish, no reason for you to pit on that first lap incident, was not a punt from my point of view, just a racing incident (maybe even more my fault then yours). I'm glad it happened though because it gave me a chance to have some good racing, rather then just running around in third.

Lots of fun, cant wait for the next one...
