Euro WTC: Istanbul #2

Started 4th for this. Again I forgot to turn autoclutch off but this time it didn't hurt me much and I still made 2 places off the start. Heinz didn't seem too comfy and made a mistake on lap 2 I think so I took the lead. Pretty much just drove for the finish after that. Still wasn't happy with my pace (about a second off my PB I set in another race a few months ago), but thats not what this race was about. I was EXTREMELY releived to cross the finish line, it would have been classic for me to suffer my 3rd lockup of the WTCC season and for it to cost me the championship, but I made it this time.
Grats to Darren and Pete on running me hard all season and taking it down to the wire. Its not very often you have three guys going for the championship in the last race! It was a fun season, probably wont be running it full time in S8, but it was a lot of fun for sure.

Well Pete got me once more at the start whilst the jockeying for position was going on behind the leaders. I just wanted to stay as close to him as possible so as not to lose 2nd in the series. A few laps in Pete ran a little bit wide and I went back in front so the plan was going well until a group of 4 formed battling for 4th place. The car in front was holding us up but defending well and I was having trouble passing. Then I got a run up the outside coming out of the chicane onto the back straight and was alongside going through the fast right hand bend. Pete had also got a run and gone up the inside so we were 3 wide into the fast right-hander. Inevitably there was some contact and as I was on the outside I came off worst but because of the large run off area it wasn't too bad and I got back on and fought my way past back into 5th behind Pete again.
I really enjoyed this series, it was close, tough racing all the way just as Touring Cars should be.

Was more fun than race 1, had a great battle with heinz and nice and clean. Then that Mraz guy ran wide at t5 and went on the runoff, I was watching him with my right side the whole way to t6 and then he comes right across and smashes me in the side. I'll jkust say he got his just rewards by coming off worst as it was just shocking tbh. Reeled off the laps for 7th

Started 10th on the grid again behind someone with a really dodgy connection, got the the 1st corner and swerved to avoid the him.. and then he warped 1/2 way down the track infront of me (very anoying!!) anyway ran for 4 or 5 laps right behind some of the really comppetative BMW's (Tim might of been one of them) and it was refeshing to see i had a 1/2 decent race pace. But again the tyers went on the last lap so i spun when trying to get 8th and lost a place and finished 10th. An eventful set of races but i guess to be expected seeing as its the last even of the season. Good racing all, very enjoyable.
