USA WTC: Magny-Cours #2

Race 1: I get punted real in lap 1 bad and the "Punt" rule was not applied???... Am I wrong here? No!!!, but I was wrong by saying in chat "Geez, looks like a public server out there, followed by comments from other racers and I said "Damn it!!! Not against anyone, but venting out the frustration... Qualified Top 10, and finished 18 due to someone elses poor driving racing etiquette!...

Race 2: I start 16th....have a great first lap and moved all the way to P5, battling out with Chris Melton which we bang doors at some point but I was clearly pushed off track and lost one place... The race finishes and I ended up 7th.,

Not what I was looking for, but with all due respect to Tim and R2P members, I apologize because of my words in chat were not appropiate.

Sorry will not flame but do have this to add. You seem to always have alot to say about all that happens to you. Start reporting the amount of times you punt guys. Be fair Omar.

Speaking of punts, I got one in this race at Chris' expense and owe him an apology. Happened on the second lap in the hairpin after the Nurburgring chicane; I had snuck inside of Conor there on the previous lap and when Chris went into the corner wide I thought I had room to do it again. Unfortunately he turned down onto the line and I had my nose in the way; I locked up the brakes trying to get clear when I saw him coming, but couldn't get it slowed enough and he got turned around. Almost pulled over and waited, and after looking at the replay from a few angles I wish I had; wasn't sure I was at fault at the time, but in retrospect that was definitely more on me.

It's a close-run thing these kind of deals, when you're pushing hard and trying to take advantage of any opening you can, but the guy in front has the disadvantage of not being able to see much back there so these things happen. Guess it's more on the driver in back to call it since he has the benefit of better vision in the situation. I'd have felt a lot better about a lower finish without that than a win as it was. Sorry Chris!

Speaking of bumps and rearward vision, I was amazed to see what happened to Ryan in T1 while watching the replay. Mark had gotten away slow, and I dove inside while Ryan went around the outside. I was clear and hugging the inside into Grand Courbe, but got a bit unsettled on the curbing and pushed out a little. Unfortunately Ryan got squeezed between me and another car on my outside; his left front corner contacted my right rear corner and he went off. Stunned me to see it since I had no idea during the race that had even happened! Just goes to show you really do have a blind spot for cars off your rear quarter, so I'll definitely be trying to be more mindful of that in future.

Aside from freaking out for a few laps after that incident with Chris the second race went pretty well; made up ground pretty quickly from 8th but stalled out behind Garret who was doing a good job in the lead. I inherited it late when he half-spun in Adelaide on his own, but outside of that I think he probably had it won; getting around would've been tough.

Steve dont worry about it-I didnt not take it personally or think it was intentional as we have never had a problem with each other on track. Just a racing deal to me. I recovered to work back to 6th. I am happy with that. Thanks for the apology anyway!

Congrats top guys. Race started good for 5 seconds when I made slight contact and to avoid spinning someone I adjusted directly into the sand pit :( but I kept on moving and came back on track in last but directly behind the pack. It was fun working my way up the pack slowly but surely.
Only one incidednt with Jason A; I made a nice move and was even with you and on the inside but I locked up too much, went wide and directly infront of your turn in. You got the worst of it and were passed by one racer, then punted by another!! Tough luck JA, sorry for not making the pass clean enough.
The rest of the race was good, chasing Omar and CM was fun. I thought I had you at the hairpin OG but you outbraked me excellently. Then at the end chicane I could have stuck my nose in but it would have been ugly and probably caused an incident. Good driving at the end to hold me off!
