USA WTC: Anderstorp #2

all you fast people sliding off track is making me look good. haha. i merely kept my own pace during the second race and i just watched the front runners battle with each other. eventually, one of em would slide off track and id make up a place. this happened prob 3 times. it was a good race. certainly less pressure than the first. not really a crowd around me. i had a great time though. good clean start as well. i was surprised to see everyone make it through the first turns after the long straight. :) cant wait for the next wtcc !

Better to be lucky than good they say, and the second race is an example. Had enough pace, but made too many errors in the first race and had to start from my race one finish position of 10th for the second one. Made up a lot of ground early in race two but the big break was when the front three cars all went off or almost did, nearly simultaneously, putting me into the lead from 4th. Was able to hold it from there, although I was having trouble concentrating - really had to fight tonight to keep focused for some reason. The wine? Nahhh... ;-)

I started 4th due to the flipflop. I started poorly and unagressively so I fell back to 8th by the end of the first lap! Then a big pile up brought me up to 5th.

Some time passed and I was on John and Conors tail's. We had a nice train going for a while with no passes possible.

JM finally went off so I moved up to CmC who had caught up to LLM who maybe had some trouble and slowed? For a couple laps I was behind them waiting for a good time to stick my nose in, or for CmC to pass but LLM did a good job of holding him off. Finally CmC thought of making a move on the loooong right but then slowed way down for the hairpin and I was flying on the outside so I stuck it in there for the rough pass.

Thanks Race07 for making a pass like that possible! In any other Simbin game I'd be afraid of CmC flipping/spinning or having damage exagerated but I think it was rough but safe. Then LLM went wide and I got around to second and brought it home!

I think I started 7th in this one because of the invert and right from the start, I pushed my way through to around 4th. However, I couldn't keep it for long because the car was a dog on the straights and soon lost a few. A few laps into the race, a major crash happened coming out of turn 1 and was able to get up to 3rd. I battled with Les a bit but couldn't get up to him to complete a pass. I could have easily dive bombed him a couple of times but I guess I was being too nice last night :). Ryan behind me took advantage of my conservative approach and passed me in the last turn while battling with Les with two laps left. We banged fenders a bit but I couldn't fend him off and let him have the podium spot. Ended up in 4th which is pretty good I guess :)

All in all, these two races were a lot of fun and I will definitely participate in more. Looking forward to racing the more twisty tracks where the e46 should really shine :)

I was hoping for another good finish but had a bad launch from the line and lost 3 or 4 spots. Then I got bumped in the last corner and spun off track. I was in P22 after this incident and just tried to make up as many spots as I could during the rest of the race. I would have liked to finish higher but I had fun battling my way up from the back of the pack. This seems like it should be a fun series and I look forward to the rest of the season.
