F3000 fun-run

I cant believe i messed this up. I was faster than the race winner and i would have some nice competition with David Fish. I am so mad at myself at the moment for losing another opportunity to gain my first win and tack on yet another freaking DNF. Ahhhhh!

Going into the third or fourth turn i did not expect David to be so slow in the corner which shows there really is a difference in driving styles. I ended up having to avoid hitting him and caught the grass.. spun.. caused a wreck. I fought from 10th or so all the way back to third in spectacular style and had a LOT of fun overtaking. However i was plagued with stop/go penalties for instances where i really did not think i was cutting or at one point the person in front of me slowed down so much in a corner i had to turn away to avoid them and got a stop/go penalty for avoiding an accident. After the fourth stop/go penalty i just quit.

If this is made into a series it needs to be sprint races only unless the pitting can be fixed.

I feel your pain, brother. I, too, had not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 Stop N Go penalties PLUS my pitstop. Ouch.

I had 1 warning, and no rear tires at the end.
A lot of brake checking into T1 after the green.

Good thing this was a fun run, since I didn't have a clue what I was doing. I've hardly spent any time with R07 and hadn't done a lap in the F3K at Imola so I can't complain, but man... Every time out in this sim I want to give Simbin the Geoff Crammond award for tarting up the fringes while the core game engine goes south. How in #@$% did they go from GTR2 to this? I know... wha wha wha. And yes I'll take some cheese with my whine! ;-)

Oh well, it was fun at times. Pace wasn't great but not terrible either, though my consistency sucked. Was surprised like others at the strict D-T penalties, but that's OK; good to learn them now. I actually like that if they're not going to make physical barriers to track cutting. But I'm clueless about the pitting in this thing; is there any way to turn off auto pitting? Whenever I went in I had no control over the car; after my fuel stop my car ran up onto the back of another (David I think) in pit lane and there was nothing I could do about it! And even though I did a normal stop it didn't appear to take any tires, and they were pretty shot by the end. Gotta figure this glitchy game out...

No stop n go's but that auto pit thing killed my chance to win.

The autopit is lame. It ran into the back of another car in pit lane. The track cutting is also lame. Not once did I gain an advantage on what they called a cut.

I'm staying away from this sim, nothing but frustration every time I race in it...

Good race. I didn't get a good Q lap in, I think it's the first time I screwed up or got held up everytime and didn't get a clean lap, oh well all my fault. Start was awesome, from the back I passed 4-5 cars. Then passed some and gained spots from spins and stopgos. In practice I noticed how strict the cuts were compared to gtr2 so I watched it. Still got 2 warnings but really watched it for the last 7 laps. Fun getting in the groove with these race07 cars but the standard pitstops kill any chance of endurance strategy.

I thought for sure I was the worst when I got 1 stop and go penalty for cutting the track 3 times. Fortunately for me, others had the same problem and worse. This track has always been sensitive about cutting in certain places - what is cutting here is not always cutting on another track.

It was fun for my first F3000 race. The pitting really blows though - the game should allow the autopit to be turned off. I guess I got lucky because I didn't run over anyone in pit lane - I just drove to the lights and the let the computer do the rest. It got me in and out with no problems compared to others.

I must say the same. Thank god i pitted a lap later than i was going to. No traffic on pit road. I too got lucky i guess. Never got any warnings either. Guess thats why i wasn't fast enough. lol All in all i enjoyed racing these very much. That was Happy Times. But i agree with the rest the auto pit is not a good thing.

Once again I was a slow piece of poop and had no business being out there. Ralph toyed with me for awhile, probably at half throttle the whole time, which made it interesting at least for a few laps.
