Charles DeGaulle Memorial Vintage GT

That was a tough race steering my Alfa boat around. I think I may have picked the wrong car for this race, but I had some extra speed which compensated my crappy turning :)

I absolutely had a blast racing around with Ray and Barrett, we were right on each other the entire race. I got close to Ray a couple times but never could get a good run until he spun and that gave me a little room but I just couldn't hold off Barrett the last few laps. Pit crew told me my tires were worn around 15 mins to go and I wanted to go in but just thought a few more laps, a few more laps. My best race in a long time, so I enjoyed it!! great race everyone.

I did what I could but 7th was all the mini had in it
pretty much a lonely race for me after the field started to spread out.

Bad luck about the CTD Tommy, I was pullin' for you to make it back in before the session cycled, but there was nothing I could do to help :(

I had a great race, managed to hang tough with the lead pack for about the first 10 laps. I was on Rick's bumper quite a bit, and he was getting thrown around pretty good on some of those curbs- I thought maybe I'd catch a break if he got launched, but eventually he settled down and kept the shiny side up. Sticking with him cost me some serious wear. Knew I'd never be able to keep that up the rest of the race, and I was already beginning to lose Rick, so I backed off and watched him close the gap back up to Mark & Jerry. Looked like all 3 of them were really tight for several laps, then Jerry fell back. A few laps later I came through the kink leading onto the straight and drove into a giant black cloud- it was scary driving through it, wondering when I was going to come upon the car that was causing it! Saw Jerry heading into the pits trailing parts, and I picked up 3rd. The rest of my race was uneventful, got through without any major errors. Fun stuff!

Well, I had the Abarth Gp2 and figured I coudn't do much with it, but it was a lot of fun to drive that's for sure!

Gord - what happened to you? You were ahead of me the whole race, then you went into the pits and gave me the position right at the end. I drove in 5th gear the entire last two laps and crossed the finish line with 0.1 L of fuel left! I guess my fuel calculations were a little off! Luckily, I was last anyway so it didn't make much difference.

Jerry hit me lightly at turn 1 and pushed me into Mark and then spun out - sorry if I got in the way Jerry, but I was just as fast as Mark through that turn so figured I'd follow him through it. I actually had to break to avoid hitting Mark in the turn. I figured you guys would easily pass me after the right hander.

@ Bill - Why on earth did you leave your Alfa parked across the middle of the track near the pit entrance *for an entire lap?* I watched the replay and saw you crashed at the end of lap one. You then sat there while the entire field came back around. We then had to evade you at the highest speed part of the track. Everyone up to me managed to get by, but I caught my corner on your corner and proceeded to flip violently. My car wouldn't start again so it was DNF for me. I can only speculate why you would sit there the whole time.

@ John - I don't know if it's your computer or your internet connection, but whenever we get into the full race, your car warps all over the place. Anybody else been seeing this?

Congrats to Mark and Mike. Mark seemed like he was pressured all race long from Jerry or I but never made enough of a mistake to give up the front spot, great drive! I got smoked at the start by Jerry and Mark and Mike was right there in 4th. On the end of lap 1 or 2 I came up on Bill sideways on the front straight and thought OH CRAP this could be ugly. I got lucky and went left and made it through but lost some time. It seemed to take a few laps for me to get in a rhythm and by then Jerry and Mark had gotten a pretty good gap on me, and Mike was still right there in 4th. Jerry ran into a problem at the end of the front straight that allowed me to get by him and then I tried to stay as close to Mark as possible. I tried to pass a couple of times but it wasn't to be. Towards the end of the race I actually got by Mark at the end of the front straight but over cooked it and over shot the turn and he nicely went right back under me and re-took the the lead, great racing Mark! Fun race guys see you next race.

yea man!! i dont know either...it was a warp fest for me trying to keep from smacking someone, ...i was so focused on that, that i hit the wall pertrusion on the end of the chicane and that was it for me...must be my connection cause when i practice with the AI's i have no problems. :( think from now on i will try to start at the end of the pack so as to keep the visual cars at a minimum....was a bummer. Even at practice on the server it seemed ok, but that was with minimal cars in my view. I could see cars going off track and dissapearing through the walls :)

That was a blast guys!

I knew the Triumph had the speed, but was hard on tires. So i took Med in the front and hards in the rear. I never got the old "Tires Worn" message, which to me is good.

This track is tricky, when i would try to push any of the cars i tested i'd just go slower.

What a battle the whole race long. I couldn't shake Jerry or Rick. Just as i started to settle down, the race was over, i was shocked. I thought, there is no way that was 45 min? Time flys when you are having that much fun! :-)

I spent every rental point i had, but it was worth it! :-)

A little disappointing to not feel I made a mistake and had the car loop on me but that is the way it goes. From an entertainment standpoint this was as fun a race as I have had in a long time. A brain fade off hte lights put me in 7th or so but I was able to get back to fifth (I think) fairly quickly. I stayed there with Glen making runs at me and then dropping back for the next 3/4 of the race. Then that fateful spin and I ended up 7th. I had used the curb there many a time but this time the back end kicked around like I had hit a bump or something - weird. I had never run this track and Pau has an awesome flow to it. Oh well where next????
