GTPC: Watkins Glen

Decided last minute to go with Vette. Qualified OK. There was somesort of an incident or such at the end of the formation lap and I managed to hit next car's rear bumper and spun as result and let everybody to sail past. I was expecting people to floor it but for some reason the cars in front of me seemed to slow down - too close to avoid.

Rest of the race I went with red mist in my eyes. I cannot recall ever being that agressive but then again I had nothing to lose. Others seemed to struggle with tyres, fuel and engine and that resulted a podium finish today. Grats all!

Thanks Chaz for setting this up. Speaking of ups - your RSR was hanging waaaay up there. :)

wow, I couldn't stop shaking for the first 15 laps, that three car action we had up until the pit stop was killer! what hapened to you Charles? your car was floating in mid air. Thanks for all the clean passing, except when a 1st place saleen did some wild and crazy pass well i was chasing Kennedy, i thought i was done for, but it ended in only a small tap.

Heartbreaker! Computer froze around lap 25, just as I was about to pit, only a few seconds behind Darren and Tom. Nice pace and battles along the way!

My first DNF in a long, long time. I'm going to have to reevaluate my (new)system. I think my computer doesn't like GTR 2 and teamspeak together....

Sorry to anyone that got caught up in my frozen RSR.

I still don't know what I finished with, but it was a decent drive all around. I made one or two slips of my own and one or two that weren't my fault but in the end I held it together. I screwed up my pit stop because i braked and then cut the power but it turned out I needed to reverse first to get properly seated in the space. In the end my pit cost me about a minute and so I spend the final third of my race about 25-35 seconds down. I thought it was all over when I got slammed into by a lambo that just appeared out of nowhere when I was coming out of T1 and heading into the esses. I have no recollection of a car behind me through the turn, so I can only assume he came humming out of the pits and didn't feel like waiting for a safe pass. As I had no idea he was there, I drove my usual line and he just blew up the inside and blasted me. I spun and smashed into the barrier and somehow held it together the rest of the race despite the damage.

As I type this, the F1 qualifying starts in 4 minutes. I'm sure Tim is busy with that. So if you don't see the results in the next few minutes, expect them in a couple of hours after the F1 race.

Charles,i think your car was far too high for anyone to run into you.I had no prep for this,just too many duties.Then when i tried to join,my con was down,rebooted modem,puter and eventually tracked it down to a faulty phone filter.Too late to do any testing to find the limits and took a guess at fuel and tyres,that left rear takes a beating.Enjoyed the race tho.

First stint was putting pressure at Joseph and we exchanged a few half car for a couples of times but, you did resist!! great job, you seemed to have a bad set of tires... after the stop, i was so excited that i started to make mistakes after mistakes, to more you catch me, to more mistakes i made, then you pass me, a then retake the lead, not sure what happened there Joseph, one sec i was on your interior, the next sec i was in front, lagged a bit, but don't know if we touched, i noticed that you were flasing a lot, sorry if i did something,but it's not my fault if there was a lag.... i tried to keep it clean all the times if you noticed!! so after that, i couldn't catch you and settled for 2nd, it was just a matter of bringing it home...which didn't happened, too bad...engine

first off, I believe a blue flag rule needs to be put in place. Charles cost me 1st place to Daniel in the middle of the race, and I was FUMING. I got it back later, but still. as far as my race, yea I started on hards, and Daniel was quicker than I thought, and we were less than a second and a half apart until pit stops (even after the incident with Charles). after the pit stops, though, I filled up and put mediums on, and chased Daniel down. I finally made up 4 or 5 seconds on him, and we battled for a bit. when I got in front, I thought he pulled a "bump n' run" as the roundy-round guys like to call it. I was a bit mad at that, but I thought it was intentional. now that I know it wasn't, no worries. but, I finally got past him coming out 6/going into 7, and I began to pull away. all in all, it was a great battle, and my pole time honestly surprised the hell out of me...it was half a second quicker than I ever managed before, and I made a mistake in the first sector, as well. so, that seemed to have come from nowhere.

My first long race and it was also the first time i've raced the 360. It was a nice car to drive, really stable.

Had a little issue with a Porsche spinning in the turn before last leaving it in the middle of the last turn. After getting going again i just drove smooth tryed to not think about peeing.

This also was my first mixed class race. Thanks to those faster guy's for reconizing their responsiblity and showed patiencs when getting around the slower class.
